Disrespectful. Embarrassing. Completely Unacceptable I rarely write negative reviews because I am used to having positive experiences, but our experience at Lit Cigar Lounge on the evening of May 1st was so disappointing that it needs to be shared. Our group of 17+ was there celebrating a surprise birthday, a gathering of educated, professional, family-oriented individuals who simply wanted to enjoy a night out. Throughout the evening, our server was subpar. She was dismissive, made snide remarks, and appeared uninterested in providing even basic hospitality. Despite this, her disposition, we still pressed on and still had a great time, and tipped her subpar service. That's the kind of people we are. Approximately 11:15, three police officers entered the establishment. Many in our group casually joked among ourselves that they must be there to serve a warrant on someone, albeit never imagining they would be there to remove us. Things escalated in a way that was both shocking and embarrassing. Shortly after, we were told we needed to leave. No prior warning. No conversation. No explanation from the staff. Others and I inquired of the manager, why? The manager resisted giving any adequate response other than to "leave now". No one could give us a clear answer. When pressed, I was told by the manager, "We don't want your business." It appeared the issue may have stemmed from a flyer associated solely with our group, but whatever the concern was, it did not warrant being handled in this manner, especially with a group like ours that was respectful, cooperative, and willing to comply with any request had it simply been communicated. To involve the police in a situation like this when there was no disturbance, no scene, and no attempt to communicate with us first was completely unnecessary and humiliating. Even the officers themselves expressed that they were unsure why we were being asked to leave, and made it clear they were just doing their job. I will say, the officers were respectful and professional, and we appreciated their sensitivity in an uncomfortable situation. What made it even worse was being escorted out in front of other patrons. It was embarrassing and completely unwarranted, especially considering that no issue was ever brought to our attention. The most unfortunate part is that this experience does not reflect what we believe about the upstanding reputation and business standards of the owner, who operates multiple establishments that many in our group have supported over the years. The handling of this situation by the manager was unprofessional, excessive, and disrespectful. What should have been a totally joyful celebration turned into an uncomfortable and degrading experience. I will never forget those words about not wanting our business, and he will not have to worry, because I will not be returning as long as he is the manager, and neither will the people I came with. read more

Oh my! Really enjoyed this spot. The Bartender )Amora) was very attentive in making the proper drinks for the patrons. Although I didn't eat, but I heard the food is very good. I really want to try to catfish and quesadillas that I heard are very good. They have a small humid door with limited selection of cigar (decent selection) I brought my own so I was good. read more

The girls & I decided to stop here for a ladies night out celebrating my sister's birthday. Lit is a cozy cigar & martini lounge located in Broad Ripple. I ordered the Pineapple Raspberrytini. For it to be a martini lounge, it fell a little short & was just ok. It was made with a lot of juice causing it to be way too sweet. We didn't order any food but some of the other patron's food looked delicious. It took around 30 minutes for us to receive our drinks but our server was really nice. We didn't understand why it took so long because it wasn't a full house, despite it being a Saturday night. My highlight was the DJ! He did a great job mixing some 90's & early 00's R&B. It was a grown & sexy vibe for sure. If the lighting was more dim, it would have a been perfect. I was told they hold brunch & live music events as well. I would check it out again! read more

My husband and I went to Lit to celebrate our love on Valentine's night. There was live music by The Tony Bryant Band from 7p-12a. We love the grown and sexy vibes. The entertainment was amazing and the food was both delicious and affordable. My husband ordered the lamb chops with a side of yams & macaroni and cheese. Plate cleared, immediately! I had the chicken quesadilla and a half-portion of Greek Salad. I love that they offer a half-portion because I really wanted something green, but not a full-on entree salad. We also enjoyed our drinks. The French Afternoon, a cocktail made with cognac, was right up my alley! We're thinking about going back again next weekend for a Mardi Gras- themed event that is happening there. Great place to kick back, have a drink, and enjoy a cigar and some good music! read more

My husband and I left shortly before the incident but it's so disheartening to hear of the negative experience my family and friends endured while celebrating a birthday for a well respected member of our family and community. I'm saddened that he's left with this memory on what should have and could have been a wonderful birthday celebration! The impact waivers as personal experiences and word of mouth travels fast. I, too hope that there is some retraining and reorganization for staff that gears more towards customer service and satisfaction. This is essential to sustaining the business. This group dumps, absolutely dumps money into this local economy and businesses so yes, we certainly deserve and expect better! And to involve law enforcement? Beyond unnecessary and childish but it certainly showed the intent to escalate a minor misunderstanding. And on that note, you all certainly don't have to worry about this bunch anymore. I want to be very clear about what happened the night of Friday, May 1st. My husband and his friends are frequent guests at your establishment, so I chose your lounge to host a surprise birthday gathering for him. I brought a large group, many of whom were first-time visitors. Initially, the atmosphere was great -- the DJ was excellent, and everyone was enjoying themselves. However, the experience quickly went downhill due to your staff. Our waitress was consistently rude, dismissive, and inattentive. Multiple drinks that were ordered never arrived, and her attitude toward several guests was unacceptable. This alone reflected poorly, especially given that I brought new patrons who were forming their first impression of your business. The situation escalated further when your manager handled a minor issue with a regular guest in an extremely unprofessional way. There was no yelling, no disruption, and no escalation from our group. We believed the matter had been resolved calmly. We were spending money, celebrating, and enjoying the night -- exactly the kind of customers any business should want. Instead, the police were called. Not only was this completely unnecessary, but even the officers themselves appeared confused about why they had been called. We were then asked to leave without any valid reason. At that point, of course, we all left -- but the damage was already done. This was a group of professional, respectful adults who were there to celebrate and support your business. We were treated with a level of disrespect that was completely unwarranted. You need to seriously address the behavior of your staff and management. What happened that night was unacceptable, and if this is how your regulars and new guests are treated, it will not go unnoticed. read more

I didn't give a 5 star only because the food and drinks took a little long to come out but after eating I can see why! The food was fresh, seasoned well and cooked to perfection!!! Very nice cigar lounge in the middle of the city. They offer a great mix of food, drinks, and cigars. Most importantly at a cigar lounge is not only the ability to order food but good air circulation. I was very happy with the air quality. It is also nice that they offer live entertainment different nights. This is a newer cigar lounge that is worth the trip to visit. It is in broad ripple so parking is a small challenge but there is plenty of street parking and a few parking lots for the businesses within a block away. Well worth the trip. read more

Recently opened, replaced Lava. So happy they did as this is more of the "grown and sexy" vibe. I've been coming here every other week since they opened and have yet to be disappointed! All of the staff make you feel special from the doorman to the bartender to your server they all are smiling and greet you. The drinks are great and tasty and the food was wonderful. Sighhhh. Lit is NOT Lit. I wanna like this establishment however, the service is not where it is at. Friday night decent crowd not incredibly busy. DJ JF doing his thing. Service just isn't there. Slow service , people are still receiving there food and someone is walking up to tables telling them that they are closing. What about the unfulfilled tickets that haven't received their items yet?!
