We could have people-watched for hours. Our waitress was exactly what every server should strive to be. Friendly, relaxed, and genuinely fun to talk to, she somehow mastered the art of appearing right before we found ourselves looking around for her. We never felt rushed, but we also never waited for anything. The food held up its end of the bargain too. The fried mozzarella disappeared embarrassingly fast and earned a solid 9.3 on my unofficial stretch meter. Crispy on the outside, perfectly gooey inside, with a marinara sauce that was every bit as good as the cheese itself. The chef salad was fresh, generously loaded with toppings, and easily big enough for a meal. I honestly couldn't tell you what beer I ordered... Because what I remember most is the experience. But his manager was TERRIBLE! We didn't catch his name, unfortunately... We had a large group, maybe 15 in total. We had young and old in our party and had three to four tables. They typically don't do table service and make you order from the bar, drinks and food. However, Rex did a great job accommodating a few of our parents who are older. We had a family member in our group who had a cough. The manager came over and stood in front of us all and said, "you have to leave!" You are contaminating our bar and you all have to leave. He is not sick and simply had a deep cough. He has been evaluated a number of times and has been told by FP& ENT, he has been using his vocal cords too much and has caused him to have a cough. He stayed between our tables and there weren't many others in the bar. We basically had most of the bar to ourselves. We asked if he was kidding and he said, no, you must leave our bar. Honestly felt like he is a hypochondriac, and probably shouldn't be in the bartending or management position.
