Granted I haven't' been to some of the really fancy expensive hookah bars with food and belly dancers and stuff, but this is definitely the place to be in DeKalb! There are a variety of different tobacco brands available for service, and hundreds of flavors to choose from. If you're not sure what you want you can always have your server make you a great surprise flavor. Compared to other hookah bars I'd say the selection is the best. The place is pretty clean. The servers are always friendly, informative and attentive. The downstairs lounge is like a dark dungeon with red and black lights and comfy couches and pillows - perfect for a chill hang out with friends or a casual date. The upstairs has a bit more class - leather couches, a bit more light, a large flat screen TV with cable and some movies, chess or poker chips and cards available. There is a variety of music - Middle-eastern and American. Depending on what kind of atmosphere you're looking for, some nights could be better than others. This places goes with the flow of the school year since it's located right by Northern Illinois University. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday tend to be a bit quieter, so if you don't like crowds those are nice days to come in. Wednesday is the discount day - perfect day to get the most for your money. Thursday though Saturday are days when all the college students come out to party, so it's usually much busier - if you like to be in the middle of all the action those are the days for you. Also the trends are - earlier time is quieter and the later it gets in the evening the more people come in. By the way, let the server know if it's your birthday - you can get a great birthday hookah on the house! :) If you're looking to buy product instead of coming in for a smoke session, there is also a store section. There is a fantastic variety of brands of tobacco and flavors to choose from and lots and lots of hookahs. The employees are very knowledgeable about the products and will not let you leave without the best quality hookah, tobacco, coals and accessories your money can buy. If you live in the area, Aroma's can become your favorite hang-out spot, and if you live far away - it's worth the trip! :)

The bartender and server who greeted us was really friendly and let us sit in the "VIP" section, which is a raised area near the back with more sofas. The couches in the general area were all filled. There's a bar and a few high tops by the bar as well. They have a huge selection of martinis with decent prices. I'd love to come back to try more, especially the dessert ones. If you are drawn in, you won't be let down. Let's get something straight here -- this is a Hookah Bar. There isn't alcohol and there doesn't need to be. If you want to go somewhere for that, try using your Yelp app for "bars" with the little martini glass next to it. The interior of the place is much like a hookah bar in Cairo -- it's dimly light with a great ventilation system. There's an actual bar counter you can sit at and smoke. Ample amount of tables for seating and some rooms with couches and televisions if you'd like. For the TV's, they have Netflix, Spotify, Hulu and all the fixings like you're right at home. For the hookah, it's pretty unique if you want it to be. For the bowl (where the tobacco goes), you can get a hollowed out fruit -- apple, pineapple, watermelon, lemon and so on. Trust me, this makes it taste so much better. For tobacco, they have Starbuzz, Al-Fahker, Fumari and more (which are the traditional suppliers). You can mix flavors together if you wish. The smoke is smooth and quite flavorful, which creates the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing night with friends. For food, I've had the shawarma wrap before and their smoothie. It's good! The Turkish coffee is really good as well, and you can get it without sugar if that's your thing. It's really caffeinated and quite good. I'd recommend trying some coffee which sips great in between puffs of hookah.

I've been here twice, and both times, the service has been great and so was the flavored tobacco. Shout out to the dude that works there, I don't know his name because everyone called him McLovin--he looks like that guy, seriously, he does. Anyway, McLovin was cool & it turns out that he is a DJ too. Most of us cool people are. Um, I mean... nevermind. The crowd that frequents this establishment was diverse & ranged from 18 to 40-something. The friendly kids that sat next to us recommended the Blueberry Grape, which was pretty good, but I was hoping for a more intense flavor. My friend, who has been there plenty of times, suggested that we smoke The Incredible Hulk. Oh yeah, TIH was pretty damn good. It was perfect for loungin on a comfy couch while watchin people play video games on one plasma or switchin my attention between the movies playing on the other plasmas.
