Walked around this park while visiting Oregon and I was so content. The trees were all different colors and the path was a pretty easy walk. I especially like how much parking there is and so much to do around the park. I can't wait to come back and see it again, there was so much wildlife around and surprisingly quiet for how much people there was around

I wish all cities had a park like this one! So wonderful have such a big, natural park right in the middle of a city. Spring was a wonderful time to visit, too, as the stream was flowing, and the Rhodies & Azaleas were in full bloom. Highly recommended!

Good family walk or if interested in some exercise hiking. Trail a little off. Nice views of mountains and lakes.

Nice park in the middle of Ashland, situated along the stream that runs through town. We spent a lovely afternoon here, strolling along the shady paths, relaxing by the water, and watching our kids play and make friends. I especially enjoyed learning about the various trees from plaques that describe them, from Oregon Grape and California Black-oak to lace-leaf Japanese Maple and American Ash that the city is likely named after. We will certainly return to Lithia Park next time we are in Ashland.

Peaceful, gorgeous park with lush lawns, surrounded by beautiful trees including one with pink leaves, pretty flowers and Ashland Creek (or is it a river..?) flowing around portions of it. We brought some lunch and sat at a bench under a tree where we could stay dry because it was lightly raining. We will definitely be back!

My hubby did a college internship in Ashland "a few" years back, and has such wonderful memories of his time there, and the many hours specifically he spent roaming this beautiful metropolitan "wilderness," we just had to stop here during our trip out to Oregon in June. Ashland is a WONDERFUL college town/medium-sized city with so much to see and do, and this park right in the middle of town is a GREAT place to take a break, breathe in the fresh air, and explore the surprisingly large number of hidden "nooks and crannies." You can hike around and "lose yourself" for a short walk, people watch on the lawn or spend all day!! Such a great resource, I'm sure it's well-used throughout the year. We saw picnickers, hikers, bikers, several ponds and playgrounds, a nature center, and MUCH more!! Beautiful area in a wonderful city-- Don't miss it if you're in the area!!

This is the most beautiful park I've been to in the USA. We went towards the end of October and it was magical- so many colors, several families of deer running through. It looked like a Thomas kincade painting or a puzzle. It was chilly and has lots of shade so make sure you're dressed in layers if you go. We also visited the playground swings (wiped them down first bc we are in COVID times) and had a great time.

Most lovely place!!only wish you could take dogs, but I get it. In Ashland there are many trails referring to Alice in Wonderland and it could be tha Lithia is Ashland's wonderland...shade, water, trails, animals...and a truly magical feel

If you come to Ashland, and you don't walk this gorgeous park - you are really missing out! It's a treasure! Each time we visit, we come to the park and see something different. In Fall - it's a wonderland of gorgeous leaves and trees. They are so lucky to have this beautiful space in their town! Tip - you can drive the entire distance too - 100 acres!!! Bring a picnic or a blanket. Giant kids play area and an ice rink too! A gem!!!

Lithia Park is a lovely, 100 year old park that was designed by the same landscape architect as San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, John McLaren. It butts right up to where the Shakespeare Festival is held. That indeed alone tells you this is something very special. The entrance to the park overlooks the plaza in old downtown Ashland, and is named for the supposedly beneficial mineral waters (from a nearby lithium oxide springs) that were a brief draw in the early 20th century. The water can be tasted, spouting from a public fountain in the plaza. It is nasty stuff, unless you one of those die hards who also finds that rusty nails have redeeming flavor elements. Two hard core cyclists were partaking of the mineral water, and I, supposing they were as disgusted as I was, pointed toward the other "filtered" drinking fountain nearby and said, "That's the real water over there!" The man replied, "THIS is the real water!" Oooops! I forgot I was in Oregon. The lush park is rather shaped like a leg, long and relatively narrow, with duck ponds and a lively creek that dances as it makes its way downhill over stones and naturalized tree stumps. The park has a rose garden, Japanese garden, ice rink, bandshell, and multiple playgrounds. There are gracious old trees, bridges, unpaved paths, grassy areas, picnic tables, wonderful places for kids and dogs to play and explore. And as the trees die, they create rotted holes and hidden places that I imagine would be wonderful fairy gardens. It is a serene, magical place to spend the day..

This park is amazing - like going for a nature hike in the middle of town! We loved strolling along Ashland Creek, past families in wading pools and picnic benches, park benches set in quiet groves of trees, duck ponds, and enjoyed the very well maintained paths. This is such an asset to Ashland and I wish my own town had a park like this! read more

I give it only a 4 because I can't take my dog in the park. We walk around the park almost every day. Mostly the lower section, but sometimes all the way around the swimming pond. Lots of dogs, deer, turkeys, ducks, etc. People are friendly and love to say hi to my dog. read more

So beautiful. Trees, bushes, flowers from all over the world. You can walk around a corner and feel like you have walked back in time to 1960 with the hippies sitting on the grass, playing with their kids, playing guitars, and singing. Never a dull moment. Just beautiful ponds, great places for the kids to play. read more

Nice park, doesn't allow dogs, even on leash. Consequently, even though I live three blocks away, pay Ashland property taxes, it's useless to me. I work long hours five days a week. When my wife and I finally have a chance to relax and take a walk, they expect us to leave the dog at home? What a crock of sh*t. read more

Love this park! I've been coming here since I was just a wee one, and watching my niece and nephews play in the river that I played in at their age really brought things full circle. Love all the new toys, the bike paths, the duck pond (where you can now not feed the ducks- wth?), the grassy places to lay your head, as well as the water access that is generally safe for kiddos. All right in downtown close to the Lithia water fountain, the Shakespeare theater, and tons of local shops. I have seen everything here from theater performers singing to people LARPing in the grass (ya know, the foam sword fighting? Yep!). All in all Lithia pretty much exemplifies the eclectic feel of Ashland, and I can't wait to visit again. read more

World class park. The farther away from town you travel the more wild and free the park becomes. However, there is a pattern of goodness throughout the entire park including congregational ponds, refreshing steams to wade and bathe in, woodchip playgrounds, climbing walls, and so much more! A must see when in Ashland. read more

One of the great parks in the US, for every imaginable purpose. Picnics, hiking, families, quiet or social gathering. Follows the wandering Lithia Creek up a valley toward a nice swimming hole during the summer. A must for visitors and locals alike. read more

Such a gorgeous park - wish I lived closer so I could come more often! The creek is sooo soothing, and I could sit next to it for hours. The deer family I met was so charming too (they are so used to humans that they're not afraid of going feet from you!). Looking at the photo of the park in autumn, I am so jealous that I don't get to experience that, but maybe in the future. Definitely will be coming back in the future. :) At must see/do in Ashland. :) read more

I spent much of the day in "Lithia Park" in Ashland, OR on 8/11/2012. I've been there several times before. It is a beautiful park --- perhaps the most beautiful that I've ever seen. A creek runs through it with all sorts of restaurants and eating places at it's base. "Lithia Park" is actually a lot larger than it seems --- you realize this if you walk all the way to the top of the park. Don't go to Ashland without seeing it. read more

great trails winding along the well shaded river, and a very nice Japanese garden area mixed amongst the larger trees. The two ponds are also sublime - enjoy the top one as wood ducks frequent the area. read more

We have enjoyed this park for more than 25 years, from taking our children when they were infants to young adults. When we visit Ashland, we still enjoy walking on the park, on the out of the way trails and through the Japanese garden and sycamore grove. Not a pet-friendly park, but there are pet parks and trails elsewhere nearby. read more

My vacation destination! Many a tall tree to relax under, tennis courts to play on and large fields for frisbee and yoga :) Arrive early enough in the morning, you might catch some "retired hippies" doing tai chi :P Great for kids and adults. Only downside is the bathroom! It's waaaaaay in the back. read more

THIS IS THE SPOT! Lithia park is a great big beautiful park with tons of vegetation and little trails that run all through it and up onto the hill above the main path through the park. No matter what time of year it is, Lithia park is the place for the family to come enjoy the day. The city keeps this park very well maintained. You can take a dip in Ashland creek that runs right through here or have lunch at the duck pond.This park kicks ass and is right down town Ashland. read more

An absolute gorgeous park that has paths to walk/hike on and something for the whole family to enjoy. Only weird ordinance that the city has on Lithia Park is that there are no dogs allowed. The playground is perfect for the kids to play on while the parents have a picnic on the grass, and the creek is great for the summer time for the kids old enough to handle a light current through adults to get their feet wet. read more

Lithia park is a gem in the small town of Ashland. There are paved trails that turn into mulched trails the further you go into the park. There are lots of places to throw a blanket and read a book or relax (to all those complaining about no dogs, this is one of the reasons, there would really be dogs everywhere and the grass would not be a safe place to throw a blanket without siting in doggy poo or piss). There are also a lot of picnic tables. The Japanese garden is small but very nice and relaxing. Also, you can walk your dog along the road which winds through the park and has a 15 mph speed limit and that is a nice option. There is a reservoir towards the end of the park where you can swim. read more

Lithia park is probably one of the nicest parks i've ever been to. I'ts well maintained, rather safe for kids, beautiful (especially during the summer!!!) and is a GREAT place to relax and read a book! There is a nice little stream going throughout the park, that you and the kids can play in, a moderate sized playground, a duck pond and sometimes, you'll find deer in the park. Last week, i was there and me and my wife found a deer in the middle of the park! We got pretty close and took some pictures before it got spooked. Overall, this is a nice place to spend an afternoon with the kids or alone. if you're in ashland, DON'T MISS IT! read more

The park that's got everything you love to see in parks but nothing you dislike. Parking is easy and convenient. Then you can walk through the peaceful, well-kept park, play on the safe playground, feed the ducks or walk to the many businesses that are seconds away. There's really nothing not to love about Lithia. (Well maybe Lithia mineral water :P) read more

Such a beautiful park. There are plenty of walking trails, everything is green. The playground is a good size and the bathrooms are super close to the playground. Plus a creek runs through. Worth the stop! read more

I visited this park many years ago when I visited Ashland. Such a pretty park and so unique. I have great memories of climbing the rocks in the creek for hours. Also I remember that the water is "special." Highly recommend visiting Lithia Park and Ashland Oregon. read more

Spectacular park in downtown Ashland. Very long park, so you can also get out to deserted areas for a more rural feeling. We purposely went to Ashland in mid-October for autumn leaves, and this park did not disappoint. Lovely yellow and red leaves everywhere. We took hundreds of pictures here. A must on an Ashland visit. read more

This wonderful park has a calming effect on my psyche. I really enjoy running/taking a stroll through Lithia Park. It is impossible to not feel at peace as you pass by the creek and the wonderful array of flowers and trees. Lithia Park might be the best thing that Ashland, OR has to offer. Can't wait to go there this Summer and sit on the bench with an ice cream cone. Nice. read more

Absolutely lovely park! Nice creek running through it. Close to downtown. Little hard to find parking. Perfect place for lunch. Had a little wading area in creek for kids. Climbing rock too. Clean restrooms. Landscaping is breathtaking. Well worth the visit!!! Take a lunch and sit by the pond on one of the benches. Don't take your dog as theres a dog park near there for your pooch. Will be going back for a visit when we come through here again! read more

Exquisite little jewel right downtown. Some restaurants and the Festival are around the park itself, so take a couple of minutes to enjoy it (especially if you're early for the show)! read more

That said, I advise management to think creatively of new systems for customers in a town where many dinners are planned around the Oregon Shakespeare Festival evening plays.

This little park is a testament to all the caring individuals who work and volunteer here…read more It's a bit of history on how things were at a different time and quite a bit of acreage that is adjacent to a baseball park. The baseball park was in use and a few people were wandering the park. Not too busy on a Saturday but there was a lot of nature to see. They have a lot of displays set up so you can see how various animals make their homes. For example black bears and some varieties of birds. Lots of time and money (there are many interpretive signs) has went into this location. It's worth a walk through. The office is open M-F but you can check out the nature outside anytime. Price: Free I'll check it out again when I'm in the neighborhood.

And I didn't even hear the obnoxious nearby Pickleball "ping". Gayle and I took a stroll through the Ashland Japanese Garden during our recent return visit to OSF. It was a bit of a rainy day and very little was in bloom, so the place didn't "pop", but I'm not sure that's the point. Admission was free and the Garden is clearly a work in progress. All in all, it was a most enjoyable visit, and one that we hope to repeat as Ashland retakes its place on our travel plans.

It's two levels, a smaller grassy and play area up top right off of a bridge, and a larger area down the hill. It looked like there was a parking area at the base of the hill but I didn't explore that part of the park. The play structure is modern and clean and even has those spring horses I loved from my childhood but most of California has deemed too dangerous for kids. The view from the upper area was very nice, it parallels 5 but you don't see much of the highway because of the trees. I was there in the beginning of October and the trees were coloring in preparation of dropping their leaves adding to the beauty of the view.

How could anyone not love something this beautiful?…read more Initially, this lake is deceptive. It looks like a much smaller lake then it is, but once you start driving around it you find hidden coves and fingers that suddenly appear out of nowhere. Each turn of a corner brings a new surprise - a water slide for the kiddies, long boat ramps with a place to tie up your boat, beautiful trees that are sure to fill with leaves and blossom into beauty in the summer. There's camp sites and washrooms - a playground for the children too. And, of course, there's the water sports - boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, fishing. If all this isn't enough, it's really pretty too. Truly, how could anyone not love something this beautiful?

Parking it terrible since it's right in the heart of Ashland. Also, dogs are not allowed to walk through this "park." If you're already down there and need a nice shady spot to sit, you can on one of its like two benches. There are some cool paintings on the ceiling underneath the main street. Say hi to the homeless man sleeping there when you visit.

This park has really turned around over the past few years. I used to take weekly walks at Lithia Park until the vagrants seem to overrun it. I had several encounters of them trying to either get money from me or cigarettes from me, both of which I felt threatened. I finally decided it was not worth the confrontation for me any more. The other day I had some business to attend to in Ashland and I had some spare time so I thought I would take a few minutes to take in the view. The park has never been cleaner and I didn't see one person who was pestering other people for anything. I have no issues with folks who choose to live "homeless", but I do have an issue when they get into my personal space and ask for things. I saw two workers who were cleaning up at the park and both greeted me with a smile. Beautiful park and I'm glad to have it in our beautiful valley. I am going to start making this part of my weekly walks again. Thank you Ashland for cleaning it up. read more

This truly is a fantastic park and place to get out of the sun and in to the shade on a hot summers day. Though it has gone through various stages of vandalism and disrepair through the years, it has always managed to come out on top. It is a shame what some people, mostly younger (but not always), will do to vandalize things just to get the negative acceptance of their peers. The fountain has been vandalized multiple times, as well as the statue at the entrance to the park. Though I am of the mindset that everyone should have a right to enjoy this great park, there is a difference between enjoyment and destruction. The reason I did not give 5 stars is I believe there should be more frequent and strict patrolling of the park in an effort to prevent further destruction of its features. However that is enough ranting. If you are looking for a nice place to explore or relax you really can't go wrong with Lithia. read more

Lithia Park used to be okay but now every time I go I get harassed by the homeless. The rent-a-cops that patrol are never around when you need them. But if you bring your dog, believe you me, they will appear out of the trees. Either do something about the homeless or the next time I'll come armed. I'm not rich so I can't give them anything. Boy, do they get pissed at you when you can't!! I used to recommend this park to people when I first moved here. Now?? I will not. I will tell everyone to stay away from Ashland. You either have to be rich and stuck up or poor and homeless to be in Ashland. read more

Lithia park in Ashland Or, was designed by the same person that designed Golden Gate Park in S.F. and if you visit them both you will see why. I have sooo many memories in this place. Love it, you would definitely want to raise your kids in Ashland, OR. When I ran away from home at the age of 14 actually 14 years ago I actually lived in this park for about 6 months and the new hippie generation adopted me. I freaking love this park. The flood of 1007 literally washed all the "hippies away and now the park is much different and I'm really very sad about that. OMG this place was fabulous.. read more

Lithia Park is great! When I first moved here I was so surprised to see such a well developed and HUGE park in a town with relatively not so many people. There are plenty of places to set down a blanket and get some sun in the summer, and in the winter there are covered areas where you can sit and enjoy the various sounds. This park has become almost a part of me, and at least a weekly trip. The ONLY thing holding this park back is some of the "far out" characters that roam around the entrance to the park. They can sometimes scare some of the people off which honestly is a shame. read more

Amazing park that has many things to look at. The Japanese garden, kids playground and outdoor ampitheater as well as a quaint stream that runs through it makes it very complete for everyone. The top of the park has a little pond for swimmings and sunbathing and is quiet and somewhat private. It is very well laid out and is especially beautiful when the leaves turn in the fall. A definate must see if your passing throught the area. read more

A beautiful Park designed by the same guy that designed Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. I have to be honest though, there are way too many rules, way too many park-narc, wanna-be cops and nosey Rosey do-gooder types. No dogs, no drums, no bikes, no frisbees, no alcohol no sleeping, no smoking..... about the only thing you can do is walk through there real quick if you're a rich blue hair tourist. read more

Not just peaceful, not just clean, not just dreamy... it's MAGICAL! I love Lithia like I love sushi. It's calm, great for a walk and soft on the feet. I've snacked here, I've played here and I've even sang a Christmas carol or five here. I love this place -- go if you can! read more

Even though it's close to downtown Ashland it's such a quiet and peaceful place; where the deer are a spectacle and the creek is serene. On holidays it is lively and the playground and nature trails are wonderful places for children and adults alike :) read more

I would give lithia park 5/5 stars if it weren't for some problems with the sizable homeless population that resides there. Mainly they keep to themselves, but remember to be cautious if you are by yourself - especially further in to the park. read more

You can tell how uptight Ashland is by the 'no animals' sign at this "park". How lame and sad. Ashland is worth a stop for gas and food but if you have dogs just keep on going. read more
