I tried out the yoga which was offered by a virtual instructor. There were 3 instructors to represent different skill levels for reference. I felt great after the session! I signed up for a membership before I left. The facility is super clean, comfortable, and safe. Hotworx is open 24 hours so you can go to any of the virtual classes or simply sit in the sauna at times that work with your schedule. The hours referenced here are the times that there is someone working up front to show you the ropes (no pun intended) or answer questions. They were not super pushy with "selling" you on the membership. Give it a try. Worst case scenario you will get a beneficial infrared sauna session in!

I never thought that I would "enjoy" working out in any way, but I absolutely LOVE the workouts at Hotworx. Contrary to the feeling leaving other gyms where I feel not only self conscious, but completely exhausted, when I leave Hotworx, I feel rejuvenated and empowered. If you have not given the free trial a chance, I promise it is completely worth it and you will fall in love like I did!

Classes are normally limited to 36 people, though presently, I think it's limited to 12 for COVID. Masks are worn for indoor workouts, doors are opened for circulation. Come check it out and tell them I sent you :) Shoutout to Tripp, Daniel and Bimala. Very cool trainers and people who love what they do and the people they are coaching.

I had…read morepreviously tried things like T25 (Videos), and in the past had been a gym member (lifting weights); but none of them really kept me motivated and coming back...nor was I really very dedicated to cardio work. F45 kind of changed all that. Each session is pretty intense as far as a workout goes, but it's all about how hard you push yourself. Exercises can be slower and easy, or fast and hard (or slow and hard ;-) ) depending on how you feel, and your level of confidence. However, the trainers that are there to help you along and the team of people that you work out with that help you to get motivated make all the difference. The folks that come there are super friendly and engaging; and the trainers are personable and non-judgemental ;-) . It's a high intensity workout, and it's easy to get a lot out of it so long as you go on a regular basis. All that being said, I'm a fan of F45. There are some things that make it better (perhaps) than others: - Erika (the trainer that is usually there when I go) is super friendly and helpful; she's always greeting you with a smile on her face, and ending the day with high-fives; and during the workouts she's letting you know where you can improve - or where you can push yourself harder. - The changing exercises daily (both in terms of timing, flow, and exercises themselves) keep things from getting dull; and you're focusing on different body parts - which is also great. - There are NO TREADMILLS; it's personal - but I'm not a fan of those things at all, so the lack of them is a plus for me. I've met several nice people at the local F45, and although none of them have invited me or my family over for dinner, I remain hopeful. Seriously though - the people are great, the trainers are great, and they have these heart monitors you can strap on to see how much you are improving. I'd highly recommend you go and try it out if you're looking for something different, and engaging, in terms of high intensity interval training.

I'm not your stereotypical crossfitter. I can't lift a million pounds, I don't really even enjoy…read morethe physical act of working out, and I don't mind running. And, stereotypical or not, it's always been a challenge for me to work out consistently. The only thing that's ever been effective for that is when there's a strong community doing a great workout. I had found these things back in San Jose (h/t Croga CrossFit!), but when we moved to Raleigh, I was not at all convinced it would be easy to find the same type of environment. Given my description above, it can still be intimidating for me to walk into CrossFit boxes even now that I have some CrossFit experience. But at Oak City CrossFit, from my first class and since, I've always felt like I fit in and am part of the family. And over the past year, with the coaching and support I've received, I can honestly say I'm in the best shape I've ever been. The coaching is highly personal. Classes are small, and Coach Mike is extremely in tune with each person's goals, capabilities, and challenges. I am on a 3-class-per-week plan, with an individual coaching session per month - through those coaching sessions, I've become much, much better at various lifts, rowing, pull-ups, and my goal this year of being able to do handstand push-ups (I'm almost there!). But most of all, the friendly and encouraging coaches and classmates keep me coming back. Oh, also, the facility itself is well-equipped, and spotless. I don't think I've seen a cleaner gym anywhere. If you're looking for a relaxed, friendly place to get way more fit, I highly recommend Oak City CrossFit!

I thought at first I would not be able to accomplish the workouts and was quite negative. Fast forward to today and I am hooked. I cannot wait to keep at it and reach my fitness goals!

I'm visiting family here in North Carolina and came by this location with my fiancé. I'm a paying member based in California and didn't realize my membership didn't include out of state access. When I scanned in, the guy at the front desk immediately asked if I was from here. I explained that I was just visiting, but instead of offering help or explaining options, he was rude, dismissive, and made no effort to assist. There was no explanation, no attempt to offer a guest pass, upgrade, or even a basic welcome. He simply turned us away, without care. I even called my home gym in California, and their manager was very kind and understanding. They said that this location could have offered a courtesy pass but when I brought it up, the staff here, especially the manager Daniel, refused and acted like I didn't matter. It was honestly one of the most unwelcoming gym experiences I've ever had. To compare after leaving LA Fitness, I went to Planet Fitness nearby, and guess what? I'm not even a member there, but they gladly welcomed me in, offered me a free guest pass, and treated me with kindness and respect. Their staff was professional and accommodating, something this LA Fitness location seriously lacks. I've always had great experiences at my home LA Fitness in California, where staff are helpful and friendly. But this Raleigh location made me feel disrespected, unimportant, and embarrassed. I wasn't trying to get in for free I would've upgraded on the spot if someone had just taken a moment to explain. Instead, I was kicked out like I wasn't even a member. Really upsetting experience. LA Fitness corporate should be aware of how this location treats loyal members from out of state.
