Bacon, egg and cheese biscuit
Kristal L.

Pulling up to Little Barn, the line was around the restaurant. I arrived a little after 9 AM. I decided to go through the drive-through to order instead of going inside. I ordered a bacon biscuit with egg and cheese (bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit) and because I heard the cinnamon rolls were delicious, I decided to grab one of those as well. So, my biscuit wasn't that great. It was pretty dry and my biscuit was super well cooked. Usually crispy baking is ideal, but this was a little too crispy for my liking. The start of the show was definitely the cinnamon roll. It was gooey, soft and pillowy. It was still warm when I opened it and it smelled like cinnamon heaven. I would literally just only go back there to get another cinnamon roll.

Little Barn Biscuits and Barbecue in Lawrenceville, GA has been around for 32 years, and after stopping by with my wife, I can see why they've been around so long! Jenny, who's been working there most of those years, was super kind and welcoming -- you can tell she really cares about the place and the customers. We tried a little bit of everything: Biscuits and Gravy - My wife ordered it. Solid although I'm not a biscuits and gravy guy. French Toast Sticks - Soft, tasty, perfectly fried, and perfect for breakfast. Chicken, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit - The biscuit was crispy outside, fluffy inside, held up great, and the layers of chicken, egg, and cheese were just right. One of the best biscuits I've had in a while! Grilled Cheese with Philly Steak and Mayo - Jenny recommended this one, and I'm so glad she did. The Philly steak with melted cheese and mayo on Texas toast was surprisingly delicious. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Great food, great people, and a true local gem. Thanks again, Jenny, for the amazing service and recommendation!

I pass this place often and finally decided to try. The biscuit was beautiful and hot and fresh. The gravy and the chicken needed some flavor to it. Very bland. It just lacked seasoning in my opinion. It was prepared very well and I appreciate that. I wouldn't get it again. I'd try a sausage biscuit though next time. Cinnamon roll was pretty good definitely does not taste store bought which is good!

I don't get there often enough but the staff is always super friendly and you won't find better biscuits. The prices are good and I'm ashamed to say that I have never tried the bbq but I hear it's fantastic too.

Service was mediocre at best.. the biscuit I ordered was extremely dry, almost impossible to eat.. even with jelly. The bacon on my biscuit tasted old and had an odd taste to it. I ordered an orange juice as well and received an "orange-ish" juice. Very disappointing.

Hometown breakfast location with foods I grew up on, freshly made too! Set aside time since the lines could grow long.

Sounds strange but the crispy friend cheese was unique and with bacon jam.....Home run. Would come back just for that. Mr. Egon was good, but didn't compare to Celine. Handcut fries were plentiful but thought were overly seasoned. Dipping sauce was .75 extra. We shared the generous slice of whipped peanut butter pie, drizzled with fudge. Would have preferred whipped cream. My preference. Drinks were not strong. Orders were served with that sweet southern hospitality. Highly recommend reservations for weekend. Public parking provided in back can easily fill up on weekends.

I feel bad saying it, service was great, too. Try it, you might enjoy it.

There were no neon lights or signs or anything to make the restaurant look open. Walking into the front door was interesting. To be honest, I'm surprised I stayed. The door has random stickers on it and, quite frankly, is a mess. Ladders were at the entrance and I'm not sure if they were there just at the time we were there or if that's where they are stored. We sat down and were not impressed. The place just seemed dirty. (Mostly my impression because of the entrance). I know this is not a fine dining establishment, but we were looking for some good wings which is why we ended up at Will Henry's. Turns out the wings were really good. They were big and saucy. We also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which was just ok. The service was ok as well. Apparently, there were a lot of "regulars" there because everyone knew each other and knew the staff. So that's nice that they have returning customers. I don't think we will be back. We will continue the search for great wings.

As a huge plus, the women's bathroom was stocked with a little basket of all the girlie needs (advil, body spray, feminine products, etc). A regular sat down with us and started chatting us up, said she had been coming here for 6 years, which is a testament to the overall vibe of the bar and staff. Btw, TRY THE OKRA!!! So good. The host said it was to celebrate the spring season since they did a apres ski theme during the winter. So festive. Okay so boom, we came here on a whim since we were going to a concert in the area later that evening. Surprisingly it wasn't busy for a Saturday which I expected it to be. Unfortunately though they had upcoming reservations so we weren't able to sit in the main room. We sat in their second dining room which was off to the side but still decorated. Our service was still good and the waiter was very attentive. For apps, we got the She Crab soup. I would've preferred for the crab meat to be sprinkled on top vs. in the soup but nonetheless it was still delicious. Super fresh!! Omg. I even contemplated on switching my entree to the stuffed grouper to get some more crab meat. I ended up getting the Shrimp scampi which was a great choice. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint with the shrimp. 6 jumbo pieces. Omg. The entree was done pretty well and it was just the right portion size. If we had more time, I would've ordered their toffee bread pudding or the honey crème brulee but that's all the more reason to come back. Oh and order the It was all a dream cocktail. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed -- but what truly set the tone for the entire visit was the service. Service That Makes the Experience The service at McCray's was impeccable, and that's not a word I use lightly. Our server, Whit, was the highlight of the entire experience. Whit was: Attentive without being overwhelming Friendly without being intrusive Knowledgeable about the menu Quick with refills and requests Genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our meal It's rare to find service that elevates the entire dining experience, but Whit did exactly that. From the moment my daughter her friend and I walked in, we were treated like we were a burden instead of paying customers. The attitudes from the employees were rude, cold, and completely unwelcoming. Nobody seemed happy to help, and the entire atmosphere felt miserable. After waiting 10-15 minutes for our food to be "freshly cooked," I expected at least hot food. Instead, I was handed a turkey burger that was barely lukewarm and french fries that were cold, limp, and already wrinkling like they had been sitting forever. To make it worse, the fries looked like nothing but the tiny leftover scraps from the bottom of the potato bag. It honestly felt like they just threw together whatever they didn't want to serve anyone else. We sent the fries back, and when they brought them out again, they were only slightly warmer than before -- still not hot like fries should be straight out of the fryer. What's even crazier is that the manager brought the food back to the table and STILL never apologized. No concern, no accountability, nothing. That alone says everything about the customer service at this place. Whatever happened to quality food and decent customer service? Customers are paying hard-earned money and deserve hot food and respectful treatment -- not cold leftovers, terrible attitudes, and management that acts like it doesn't care. Extremely disappointing experience, and I will definitely think twice before ever coming back.
