This place is excellent! No reservations, but we stopped by anyways and were immediately seated outside. Even though it was chilly, all the outdoor heaters made the seating quite toasty. Once you step inside, you get the feel/vibe of the name -- the strip mall feeling fades quickly. The colossal pretzel is, in fact, colossal (and tasty). I've been meaning to come here and finally made it Saturday night. They do not take reservations so it's kind of a roll of the dice on weekend nights. But we were able to get in even though it was pretty crowded so I was happy. The one in Westport is a little nicer in that it's actually kind of actually a little barn and this one is in a strip mall. But it's pretty nice inside and they do have an outdoor seating area if the weather is nice. There's essentially no wine list to speak of just a handful of options so if it's wine to crave look elsewhere. But they do have a full bar. The menu is pretty standard and nothing too out of the ordinary so everyone will be able to find something and its pretty kid-friendly. We all shared the calamari and it was pretty good. I had the tuna poke bowl and it was good though maybe a little stingy on the tuna. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and the bill wasn't a budget-buster. Service was fine no issues there. His was my first time visiting the Little Barn. Tried a couple of weeks ago but the wait was way too long. Very happy we tried again. We walked in and were greeted by a very friendly hostess. She sat us at a table right next to their fireplace (see photos). The record was comforting. We both (Mom &me) decided to start with the French Onion soup. This was probably one of the best I have had in many years. My Mom ordered the Brussel Sprouts and Chorizo in a sweet and sour sauce. This was delicious. I ordered the Chili. The Chili was good. To me, it needed more of a chili pepper flavor and the consistency was a little thin for my taste but was also packed with plenty of meat and beans. They served the Chili with homemade corn chips. I brought home the Chili because I was too full from the onion soup. Our waitress was Taylor and she was amazing. I even told the manager as we leaving that Taylor was awesome. I am giving Little Barn 3 stars because I think they are still working out the kinks of this new location. When we arrived around 6pm on a Friday night, we were told it would be a 15 minute wait for indoor dining. There wasn't a wait for outside dining due to the humidity, but we preferred to dine indoors for this very reason. After about 20 minutes, we went to check on how much longer it would be. Boom. The table was ready--a bit suspicious. There definitely seemed to be an apparent issue and lag with the busser crew. This location is definitely gorgeous inside--large bar area, electric fireplaces, large patio. We were seated inside right on the edge of where the doors opened to the patio area. One of the biggest complaints I have is that this side of the restaurant was not properly ventilated. I wanted to be seated indoors to be away from the humidity, but that was not the case. My guest and I were sweating for the entirety of our meal. They need fans or an increase in the AC right where the patio meets this part of the dining room, especially on hot days like this one. Our waitress was very friendly. She noticed that our entrees were taking longer than usual to arrive and confirmed with us that the kitchen was experiencing delays. For apps, we got the colossal pretzel, which was a special, and the french onion soup. I later regretted the soup due to the sweaty atmosphere. Nonetheless, the pretzel was very good--crispy yet fresh. However, Little Barn should work at perfecting their cheese sauce and mustard. The mustard was not honey mustard and therefore carried a powerful, spicy punch. And the cheese sauce tasted like pure Velveeta. The soup was tasty, but the Swiss cheese was way, way too thick and not done enough on top. My guest got tacos, which he reported to be very good. No complaints there. My chicken wrap was also very tasty and the sweet potato fries were delicious. No complaints as well. Also a bonus, Sugar Rush is right next door and has absolutely delicious ice creams, milk shakes, and waffle cones! Definitely a must-stop-by after your meal at Little Barn. Overall, I think Little Barn shows great potential to be a hot spot for a drink and dinner, but they have to fine tune a few things for a higher review. read more
