We had an AMAZING experience at this spot! We made a lunch reservation and were running a few mins behind. The staff was so accommodating and understanding. We were explained the menu and it was super easy to check off what we wanted. We also expressed that we didn't eat pork so the sever gave us some good suggestions . We ordered 6-7 tapas items since everything was tapas style but VERY Filling! Dumplings and egg rolls were filled with flavor and the amount of filling in each was significant whether it was meat or vegetables. Really amazing dishes! The dumplings are a MUST. The location is great for a date or meet up with friends. 10/10 recommend!

I first learnt about the restaurant this summer and I'm glad we finally paid a visit for dinner tonight. I'll admit that the Seth Rogen publicity helps push me with the decision. We went for an early dinner at 1730. Among the two of us, we had: - chive & shrimp dumplings, - siu mai - shrimp toasts - crispy bean curd rolls - fried garlic squid - egg tarts We also had a pilsner and a cider. The dishes and their flavours were as authentic as one would expect of good Cantonese dim sum dishes. The egg tarts were baked to order and they came piping hot. We had real and honest (i.e. not pretentious ) dim sums served in a lively trendy neighbourhood restaurant. We decided to walk to dinner tonight and it was worth the 50-minute walk, each way.

My friend and I made the trek here on a chilly Sunday evening - it's not the biggest, so definitely make a reservation, since it did start filling up quickly around 6:30pm or so. We weren't the hungriest at the time so we ordered a bunch of smaller things to share: The spare ribs had a nice flavour but tended to be on the tougher side (hard to chew). The black bean sauce was tasty though (and you could tell as soon as the dish arrived how authentic it smelled haha). The pork bun was really big (!) - not the usual type you'd expect to see at a dim sum restaurant, it was more like the big baozi. The bread was a bit bland - not my favourite - but there was a lot of juicy pork as filling. Siu mai was quite good, I liked the overall full/rich flavour, and the shrimp in particular tasted great! The Shanghai xiaolongbao were average at best. The soup smelled very fragrant, but the skins were not very soft at all, and the meat didn't have much flavour. The egg tarts were a delightful end to our meal; the egg was light and creamy and the crust wonderfully flaky. The cherry on top was the price though; we couldn't believe our eyes when we paid our cheque. We fully expected the bill to come out to at least twice as much as it actually was, especially comparing to some of the other Michelin-related dim sum restaurants in Vancouver (cough cough). Anyways super amazing meal, the menu was pretty big and I'd love to come back soon and try some of the other delicious things they have!!

I wish Yelp did 1/2 or even 1/4 increments because I would give Little Bird 4.25/5. The steamed bbq pork buns, sticky rice, pot stickers, Shanghai soup dumpling, spring rolls, and the scallop taro puffs were delicious. The pork spareribs and dry garlic spareribs I thought were cut into little chunks that you could only nibble on. Sit outside on the sidewalk table along 4th Ave, weather permitting. Kitsilano is my favorite part of Vancouver.

Pros: food is great! dim sum is authentic I love it that they offer delicious microbrews The vibe is welcoming, contemporary, and fresh. Plenty of free street parking nearby. Friendly servers and fast service. This is not your typical traditional Chinese/dim sum restaurant. It's hip and not intimidating to dim sum beginners. As an experienced dim sum lover, I am also happy with my experience. Cons: not much! I guess I wish they could open all day long and expand their menu a little bit more?

Cute little restaurant serving dim sum and beer - friendly and helpful staff. A good selection of dim sum and dishes came out at a good pace. The beer was good too (pilsner). Overall - OK. Would like to return and try it again on another night. The siu mai is big and flavorful as was the chunky fried squid and shrimp toast. The soy sheet rolls were unevenly cooked - one crisper/browner and the other quite pale. The egg tarts (made to order) were served nice and hot ... but one had a flakey crisp crust while the other was soft/doughy on the sides/bottom (of course, it's the one I had). Uneven cooking in those two items. Everything else good.

Made a booking online for Sunday morning. I don't have a lot to add to what everyone else has already stated. In summary, smaller menu than a lot of sun sun places but lots to choose from. Bit of fusion of traditional dim sum vs more approachable options. Yea selection (yes they charge but it was $3). Generally good service, portion sizes make sense, many dishes are two or four, the sticky rice is one giant serving (pictured). Clean and bright spot, their house made sauce sort of reminded me of XO but without the fishy flavours. Will definitely return!

Food was good, definitely not as many options as a traditional dim sum restaurant but I like the concise menu. Definitely want to try the craft beer next time but it was 11am so I didn't partake. Service was efficient, and the ambiance was nice. I loved that they have vegan options as that was our entire reason for going (one of us is strictly vegan). Definitely will go back if ever in Vancouver!

3.5 rounded up. Doing my mixed bag review Do try it. It's a very different experience. All day dim sum. Sort of like the all day breakfast that you get at a lot of western restaurants. Nothing else like it in Vancouver that I'm aware of that you can get beer with dim sum. Do not bring granny here that speaks 台山話. She'll hate it. Don't bring your 鄉下 parents either. They'll hate it and give you an earful. 「衰嘢! 咁唔抵食嘅!」 Do order a heaping meal. When I say heaping, do what I did. 15 plates for 3 peeps. I swear, I ordered close to half the menu. That's how you do dim sum properly you noob. Do not expect to order sweet and sour pork, chicken balls, or chow mein etc. You deserve to be bitch slapped if you do you noob. Do order the "feet". You know, the chicken feet. I don't eat it because I'm a hypocrite. If you're going to do dim sum with beer, you may as well order the feet and drown it out with the beer. Do not expect to see a lot of Asians. This place is targeted for a specific demographic. Do expect "authentic" dim sum. Yes, this is not Western bastardized Chinese food in any manner whatsoever. It's the real deal. If I'm not mistaken, there appears to be a hint of MSG for the complete experience. I couldn't fully come to a conclusion on that one. Do not expect to be overly confused by the menu. It's all in English and is laid out nicely. Do expect a conclusion for my review. The food is authentic as you can get. Hits and misses here and there but overall not bad and pretty good. Hard to compare to another dim sum place because, depending on your semantics, it's hard to declare what's authentic and what's not. The atmosphere is definitely Western demographically aimed. Nothing wrong with that. Don't be a noob. I had to try this place out, and you should too.

This is a sister restaurant to the Tasty BBQ & Beer Bar located in Richmond…read more I saw this restaurant while it was being constructed, as it is located right along the seawall, just before the Burrard Bridge. What a phenomenal location! In the summer, there's an outdoor seating area which is literally right by the water, and the view is gorgeous. And in cooler months, the restaurant interior is amazing, as they suspended a lot of vibrant, arresting neon signs from the ceiling, reminiscent of the downtown Tokyo alleyways and street scenes. Whoever did the interior design of this place, my hat's off to you! It's incredibly effective and eye-catching. Now for the food review....wow, it's super good. They specialize in skewers here, and you can get all sorts of shish kebab-like skewers, for a wide range of price points, too. But the dish that really blew my kid and I away was the grilled eggplant. I can't say enough good things about this dish. It was absolutely delicious, and we'd go back again for this dish alone. Our server was lovely and very patient in describing all the various skewers and plates. Oh, and I really liked the service-wear and pottery, too. Very authentic. When my kid and I dined here, the restaurant was fairly new and it didn't have its liquor license yet, but when I last passed here on my seawall walks, I noticed a sandwich board outside the door advertising its Happy Hour specials. So I assume they have their liquor license now. This a a great little restaurant with a great ambiance in a great area. What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood!

Plenty of beef slices and enoki mushroom. I really have to recommend this dish. Also had a pile of their skewers. Taiwanese sausage, chicken gizzard, and 2 flavours of wings. Not the cheapest, but similar in pricing to the competition. Everything got gobbled up. Delicious. Honestly I wish more people knew about this place. I think the only thing stopping them is the rather "bad" (not too visible) location. The 5 star rating for dinner remains.

The second time there were clams and lamb neck? The things that were the same: tomato egg, dumplings, steamed baos, chineze fried donut, and cold dishes like bean sprouts, smashed cucumbers, tea egg, tofu dessert. They also have hot soy milk for drinks. Their deep fried chinese donut has got to be the best I've ever had in my life. With the price of a pair of fried donut being over $6 these days, I get my fix here. Other things are standard, good but not outstanding. I really like having soy milk to drink instead of water. $18.88 is getting a little steep for a limited choice buffet with not too many meat choices. The crab/clam are a nice addition but if there are days without it, it wouldn't be worth. I would rate the food from this place higher than the similar chinese lunch box style place in richmond, K squared mansion.
