JINYA Ramen is located on robson street and always see long line-up. This time I made a reservation to avoid line-up. What we got: Tonkotsu black ramen Tonkotsu black broth had smooth tonkotsu flavor blends with black garlic oil well. Noodle itself was just ok. Topping were delicious. Salmon poke mini tacos was unique menu. Salmon poke was just ok. Tacos shell was crispy and enjoyed that combination. Pork chashu bowl was solid item. Pork chashu was well seasoned and lean and fatty part of chashu were well-balanced. Rice was too soft. However, I liked this item. Overall, we enjoyed both their food and ambience. It was definitely Ramen bar ambience and menu also matched the restaurant concept. It is not only ramen, they also offered variety of side dish, so, it is easy for us to pick this restaurant for any purpose . I really liked their concept.

Great spot on Robson Street with a lively vibe. The Impossible Gyoza was delicious and surprisingly innovative. Cucumber Salad was good but a bit too salty. Brussels Sprouts Tempura had great flavor and sauces, just slightly oily. The Spicy Chicken Ramen had amazing broth, tender chicken, and perfect thin noodles. The Spicy Vegan Ramen was rich, spicy, and super satisfying. Service was really quick as well and very friendly. Overall, tasty dishes and a fun, crowded atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Good service, good portions of food. The sake flight was really decent and ran the gamut of the house sake to more premium brands. We tried the miso eggplant, creamy spicy shrimp tempura, chicken karate, and signature tonkotsu ramen. Would recommend for happy hour as it's good value and a convenient location to shows in the dt core.

I came here after a long day work. So glad they open late, and the service is really quick. I love their ramens and this time I ordered the pork chashu bowl regular size was added fresh garlic. And broccolini on the side. Every ingredients is super delicious and mix well together. Really appreciate the quick service too.

It was our favorite restaurant to have dined at during my partner and my trip to Vancouver. Everything from hospitality, quality of the food, ambiance and décor was well planned and executed perfectly. Upon arrival, we were seated at the high tops next to each other with menus and prompt waters delivered. The host also informed us of the specials for the day before asking us to take out time with the menu. The bartender quickly finished the two cocktails he was preparing and then came over to address us. After asking if we had been there, he made a few recommendations before telling us to give him a wave when we were ready. My boyfriend got their Signature Ramen Combination and a Highball while I got their Classic Ramen Combination and a Beer. The combinations arrived within 8-10 minutes and included a salad and a side of your choice. My boyfriend got the Gyoza while I opted for the chicken pieces. We also decided to share an order of the Salmon Aburi. After finishing our appetizers, which were delightful and left us craving move, they bussed our plates and delivered the main entrees. The bartender also made it a point to chat with us, asked where we were from, whether the food was to our liking, and talked a little bit about the ramen before tending to another couple that had been seated to the high tops. They definitely left a fantastic impression, with their delicious offerings and top notch customer service.

Genuinely wish I could give this place zero stars. Disgusting food and horrible service. What a combo. Where do I start? We frequent the area from the states and wanted to try a new place downtown. We walked in and they weren't busy, but the hostess walked to seat us and immediately told us, "you have 90 minutes"... ok? We sat down and the table was so cramped for my 2 kids, husband, and I. Whatever. Our waitress was right off the bat rude and dismissive. Whatever. I ordered the chicken chasu bowl with the upgrade of quinoa and beans. Kids each got a kids meal and husband got a tonkatsu ramen bowl. We also ordered some gyozas and the lychee martini. The lychee martini had no trace of alcohol lol. It was literally just juice. The chicken chasu bowl was disgusting with absolutely ZERO flavor. I ate 1/4 of it and the rest went to waste unfortunately. Even my kids wouldn't eat it. The kids got a decent kids meal with ramen and crispy chicken and French fries. Husband's ramen broth was so salty and just underwhelming. Total was about $140 CAD and absolutely the worst meal we had while in Canada. Our waitress never once checked on us and when we did ask for some refills on water, we had a horrible attitude. Listen, save your money and appetite. There are so many other ramen houses nearby that are worth your business. This place is greedy and low quality.

I like to call this place the cactus club of ramen It has a big space and beautiful decor, loud and dark, very unlike the usual hole in the wall Ramen shops. There's always a lineup outside this location downtown. The food is good/fine.

    Black tonkatsu ramen

I had the black tonkotsu ramen. Place is busy but not too bad and service fairly friendly and nonintrusive. The ramen itself seems decent, light tonkotsu sauce - not rich; meat is great - a bit fatty which I like. Egg is done fairly well, just slightly runny. Noodles have good consistency. I like that it comes with egg, mushrooms, seaweed. Overall decent place, I would put it slightly under say Denbo but only by a very small amount. Quiet enough to catch up with an old friend.

    Gyoza + Bun

Just got to Vancouver and was looking for our first spot to eat. JINYA fit the bill. Was seated right away, friendly host and servers. We were hungry and ordered quite a bit: Impossible Bun, Impossible Gyoza, Flying Vegan Harvest + Egg, Spicy Chicken Ramen + Egg, Lycheetinis, Suntory Toki Highballs, Mochi Green Tea, and Panna Cotta. Everything was really good, some of the vegan/impossible stuff was a bit on the saltier side, but still good. Drinks were good, but on the lighter side (like a bud light). We had 2 drinks each and didn't feel anything. The panna cotta is a MUST try. It was a great balance of flavor and richness. Mochi ice cream is like what you'd buy at the store. I'd give it a 4.5*.

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.

They have an outdoor patio area but the seating is on couches you and would have to lean over to eat at a coffee table. We thought that it would be very awkward for eating. They had one high top table outside that we took. Sunday is pizza night and all the pizzas were $17.95. The FIFA game was on both inside and on the patio. For dinner we shared a diavola pizza and smoked salmon parpadelle. The pizza was good but the crust was soggy. The salmon parpadelle was good but I think it would have been better with another pasta - spaghetti, linguine or fettucine as the pasta could not be twirled with a fork and spoon and had to be cut up. The service was excellent. When our server Malaka heard that we were coming in from Abbotsford she said that she would give us the "best seat in the restaurant". When we opted to sit on the patio she gave us a complimentary tiramisu as a thank you. It was such a kind gesture. It was a nice relaxing evening and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

It left a pretty disappointing first impression, especially when the table had already been booked in advance. The service also felt rushed toward the end. The receipt was brought to us immediately after we finished eating without us asking for it, which gave the impression they wanted to turn the table over as quickly as possible.
