Good brunch, but the service approach felt a bit uncomfortableMy friend and I recently visited Little Birdie for brunch. The food was good, though not quite a standout experience, and we left feeling like the service could use a bit of refinement. We both have dairy allergies, and I am also gluten-free, which we knew might be a bit tricky here since most items naturally include these ingredients. I completely understand and appreciate that offering truly gluten-free meals is difficult because it requires separate fryers and stations. That said, it would be amazing if the brunch menu eventually included a couple of exciting, naturally gluten-free options. The main downside for us was the serving style. Our waiter was incredibly friendly with the tables right next to us, but our interaction felt a bit distant. When it came to ordering, he strongly encouraged us to choose different dishes than the ones we already ordered, waiting at the table until we gave a definitive yes or no. It felt more like a high-pressure sales tactic than genuine recommendations, which made the experience feel a bit less authentic. At the end of the meal, he was holding a handheld POS terminal and had me pay first. When communicating about the bill, he directed everything exclusively to my friend, missing that I was the one who made the reservation under my name. Because of the uncomfortable ordering pressure, I decided to leave a smaller tip than I normally would. Tried this new restaurant after seeing on instagram feed. Cute little place that had perfect vide for Del Ray, Alexandria old town. The ambience is great for both casual dates and family. The kitchen is a bit bright that distract a bit from the decor. Hope the owner will figure something out to harmonize the two with small tweaks. Service is good, no problem. Overall, will return for more. Food is generally very good, especially if you like a lighter version of southern fried chicken. Beet salad - nice hearty salad dish without any heaviness. Sauce is well balance in savory and creaminess The Nug - more like a small piece of friend chicken tender with some caviars. I believe that it needs to price higher for a lot more caviar. Does not feel satisfying and luxurious with the amount of caviar. Chicken sandwich with fries - the best dish of the lot. Perfect friend and seasoned chicken. They offer a brunch, lunch, and dinner menu, focusing on the chicken - a group of us came here to check this place out for lunch. Let's just place just opened up a couple of weeks ago and I was very fortunate to get in with my wife because they're already booked up in the mornings days prior. To start the staff is all on their a game, not too overbearing but just attentive enough. The gentleman at the front counter is a very engaging host. Our food was delivered hot and quick. The fried chicken sandwich was on point as well. The flavors of the chicken were outstanding, the crust was absolutely perfect, and when the sandwich came out, the bun was not so soggy which can happen with coleslaw. Hi everyone! I just wanted to highly recommend this new restaurant that just opened up not too long ago called little birdie it is in the Delray area. The food is amazing. Even the Cook came out and spoke to me. Our waiter. Eddie was phenomenal very personable and just all around very nice guy if he felt like family the food was also spectacular. We had the cutlet wrap (8/10), the hot chicken dip (8/10), and to drink the red hen and lavender kick (both really good just wish the serving size was more). Dropped by for lunch at Little Birdie, and everything was wonderful! We ordered the deviled eggs and got a complementary gazpacho which was lovely! We also tried the chicken salad and the Caesar cutlet wrap. The portions were huge and filling. The service was fantastic and welcoming. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and good atmosphere. Went to the opening day of Little Birdie and the food and service was fantastic. While the space is small, the ambiance and decor make up for it. Would highly recommend the corn bread, very buttery and you get three butters (blueberry was my favorite). Got the Tendie tower to split as an entree and it was plenty of food. The tenders are BIG and taste very fresh. Make a reservation because I'm sure they will be busy going forward! read more

Very cute new restaurant. Limited seating so I suggest making a reservation. We came for lunch. The food was great! I did find it strange (and took off a star) for fries not being included with any of the burgers or sandwiches. They charge you $5 extra (on a $16 sandwich) if you want fries. I found that strange and was kind of a turn off. I could see if Chips were included and you could pay to upgrade to fries, But nothing comes on the side.
