Clyde's is a classic restaurant in the DC area and there is no doubt about that. We generally frequent the Ashburn location and used to go quite frequently to the one in Reston (which shut down) and came to this location in Alexandria for a quick lunch and were not very thrilled with the service. Although the waitress seemed very friendly, she assumed that even though they got the order wrong, I would still eat it. After notifying the waiter that brought the food to our table that the salad I ordered was incorrect- nobody came to our table for the next 10 minutes and thus I ate the incorrect item as I didn't have much time to waste and wait. The food is expensive, which leads to a pretty big tip, but the service definitely isn't at the level that it should be to warrant returning customers.

Saturday night dinner at Clyde's. My party arrived at 7pm and even though we had a reservation, we had to wait in the lobby for what seemed like a longer amount of time than necessary for our table. Maybe 7 minutes. Once seated, the server brought water fairly quickly, then returned to take appetizer orders. We weren't ready, which is unfortunate because it took forever for the server to return once we were ready. I was so hungry! The appetizer was the crab and artichoke dip, which came with bread and was creamy and delicious. But again, it took awhile for the server to return and take our entree orders. Had some more dip... I had the salmon for my entree. It was a simple dish. I requested the vinaigrette on the side, but ended up adding it since the salmon itself was kind of bland. But everything together was tasty with a teeny bit of a spicy kick. For dessert, cheesecake. It was a nice dinner, just wish service had been a little speedier.

Great vibes and atmosphere, though the food didn't quite meet expectations. The atmosphere: The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an outdoorsy theme, unique signage and animal details, plus a lovely pond outside. The food: For starters, we tried the Point Judith Rhode Island Calamari and the Crab and Artichoke Dip. The calamari was the highlight of the meal with a bright lemon flavor and tasty dipping sauce. The dip was just okay, and the bread was a bit tough. I ordered the Steakhouse Burger, but the bleu cheese and overall flavor weren't my favorite. My parents had the Maine Lobster Fra Diavolo, which had a watery sauce and unevenly cooked noodles. The service: Service was pleasant and attentive.

On a late Saturday night mission for good drinks and bites, a quick Google search led my best friend and I to Clyde's. And I must say, we were not disappointed. The ambiance of the restaurant is something of a cozy lake house, with a beautiful koi pond outside. So I was automatically thrilled by the looks of this place. We sat at the bar, and were promptly greeted by the bartender with waters and menus. I have been craving a Lemon Drop Martini with passion fruit for AGES and so I asked the bartender if he could make one and he absolutely delivered! Also, the Oysters Rockefeller were so yummy that we ordered two rounds. I will absolutely be back to try out more beverages and food items from Clyde's!

I have to reflect on a review left by my friend over 10 years ago. This place *could* be a big deal, but based on the elaborate 'golden age of sailing' dark themed decor and prices, I'd have expected just a bit better. First of all out server, I believe Robert, was very friendly. He recommended the happy hour oysters, but then I told him I was from Maine. Then he said they had Maine oysters... well, he didn't get where I was going with my snooty comment. Anyway, we did end up getting an OYSTERS ROCKEFELLER, and I thought it was very good. My mother got the CRAB CAKE, and it was something that I knew I *should* have got based on our proximity to Maryland waters, but I couldn't justify the spend. I did have a few bites from Mom's plate and it was very good. Try the summer variant for something a little different on the side. For myself, in hopes of repeating my outstanding experience at Street & Co., I opted for the SWORDFISH but was very disappointed. It was kind of tough and dry, and the seasonings didn't do anything for it. Type of thing you could get at Ruby Tuesday's or something. Would love to give this place a chance, because I can tell they have potential, but based on price and the swordfish, I can't give it more than three stars.

Clyde's at Mark Center really came through! I ordered the Faroe Island Salmon Salad and buffalo wings through Uber Eats, and everything was so bomb. The salmon was fresh and perfectly cooked, sitting on top of a flavorful, well-balanced salad. And the buffalo wings? I didn't even get a chance to snap a photo because I scarfed them down instantly--seriously that good! Everything arrived well-packaged and still hot, which is always a win with delivery. Now my partner is taking me to the Clyde's in DC so I can try the double fried wings, and I cannot wait. Clyde's has definitely earned a new regular customer!

3.5 I stopped in for dinner at the bar and had a mixed experience. The service was friendly (albeit slow) and the atmosphere is what you'd expect from this Clyde's. A lot of what I ordered was good, but one item really missed. The wings were flavorful and overall solid, even if the texture was a little off and they took longer than expected (17 minutes). The fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce were great. The real disappointment was the "Jumbo" Crab Cake. It was small, and the flavor leaned more toward stuffing than crab. For the price, I expected something with real lump-crab taste and texture, and it just didn't deliver. Everything else on the plate was good, which made the crab cake stand out even more as the weak spot. And for anyone who jumps in with, "Well, what do you expect, it's seafood in Alexandria?" That's not a real explanation. Plenty of places around here manage to serve proper crab cakes without tasting like stuffing, so that excuse doesn't hold up. I'd go back for the wings (maybe), oysters, or other dishes, but I'd skip the crab cake at this location. I'm open to giving Clyde's another try, but if you're looking specifically for a great crab cake, this isn't the place.

First of all, the place is beautiful! We ate in the maritime room which is tastefully decorated. The ambience is of walking into a fine home where your manners need to be on display. It's not stuffy by any means. I love looking at the koi in the pond outside the restaurant. There is plenty of parking, There is also a bar. I ordered a classic daiquiri (not a blender one) and is was perfectly made. The food is delicious. I got salmon and it was cooked perfectly. My salad was fresh and the dressing was homemade. Our server was attentive and friendly.

I don't recommend any of the pastas or dips. Extremely salty. Their burgers and fish & chips are very good. The services are great though.

The food was amazing as always and our server Daniel L was excellent as well. The sangria and Brussels were my favorites but we would have ordered everything we had again! This is our go-to spot for amazing buffalo wings.

Early Mother's Day dinner with my kids and Grandson. Clyde' s look like a restaurant made just for an outdoors person-dark woods with a theme heavy on fishing, animals and boats. My Grandson loved the boat replica that was inside the building and the animal heads mounted on the walls. The feel was cozy and comfortable with booths or tables (we had a booth). We had early dinner reservations at 5 which was perfect timing as it was quiet when we arrived but got busier as the evening went on. We started with Calamari that everyone shared which were perfect. I had the Bell and Haven Half Chicken and my Husband had the whole Roasted Rainbow Trout. Both were well-seasoned and delicious. This is saying a lot for my Husband who generally only eats his fish fried. Dessert was strawberry shortcake that was shared and it was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and our waiter was very attentive. 10/10. Clyde's is on our list for future restaurants.

Visited this place for my husband's birthday. We were greeted by the hostess and she seated us right away. Our server Thomas was very friendly and attentive. He made our celebration all the more memorable by bringing us a complimentary dessert for my husband to enjoy. The food was delicious and generously portioned. The clam chowder was one of the best I've ever had. The ambiance is very pleasant with a very spacious dining area. I would definitely recommend this place and will be revisiting soon.

The place can get quite busy so I would highly recommend making a reservation first. We ordered some cocktails which all tasted amazing, I enjoyed the espresso martini the most. Our table ordered the baked oysters and tuna tartare to start. The oysters were seriously so fricking good, I wanted to order another round! The tuna tarate was refreshing and tasted really good as well. I highly recommend ordering the fish curry or their scallop entree. My wife and I arrived around 1:20 p.m. on a Thursday. The lunch crowd was still going strong, which only reinforced that we had picked a popular spot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill almost immediately. When we walked in, there was no hostess to be found. After waiting about four minutes, she finally appeared and offered us a choice between a small table in the corner or one by the bar. Given how busy the restaurant was, we took the table by the bar. About seven minutes later, someone finally came by to offer us water and explained that our server was busy, but she would help us in the meantime. No problem. We ordered the Avo Goddess Salad and asked that it be split so we could share it. A few minutes later, our server arrived, introduced herself, and we let her know we had already ordered the salad and were ready to place our lunch orders. She was very helpful in guiding my wife toward the Old Bay Shrimp Burger. I was excited to order the Shrimp and Grits until I learned it contained Andouille sausage and, according to our server, couldn't be prepared without it. Since the restaurant highlights that everything is made from scratch, that surprised me. I ended up ordering the Ahi Tuna Salad instead. So far, so good. Then came the frustration. We spent the next 20 minutes slowly picking at our salad, growing increasingly hungry and confused. You know something is wrong when guests who were seated after you begin receiving their meals before you. Finally, at 2:10 p.m., our food arrived: my Ahi Tuna Salad and a Pulled Lamb Sandwich for my wife. Except my wife had ordered the Shrimp Burger. When we pointed out the mistake to what was now our third server, she quickly assured us it would be corrected. A few minutes later, our original server returned and took full responsibility. She explained that the lamb and shrimp items are next to each other in the POS system and she accidentally selected the wrong item. She assured us the Shrimp Burger would be out in two minutes and suggested we enjoy the fries that came with the lamb sandwich while we waited. Unfortunately, another ten minutes passed before the burger finally arrived. Here's where things became truly disappointing: the top bun was still cold--almost frozen. My wife ended up removing it entirely and eating the sandwich with just the bottom bun. At best, the Shrimp Burger was decent, but certainly not worth the wait and frustration. As for my Ahi Tuna Salad, it felt like something I could easily make at home, especially considering the $25 price tag. I'm also not entirely convinced the tuna was particularly fresh. I can't bring myself to give Matt and Tony's one star because the atmosphere is genuinely cool and inviting. So I settled on two stars--mostly for how I felt before the experience unraveled. And listen, I get it. Mistakes happen. We're all human. But as someone who eats out frequently, here's one piece of advice: when a restaurant makes a significant mistake with a customer's order, consider taking that item off the bill. Sometimes that gesture is the only reason a guest decides to come back.

I don't normally eat this type of heavy carb heavy dish...but every now and then, it's not so bad. The plate arrived with two buttermilk biscuits, country bacon gravy, two sunny side up two eggs, and home fries. The gravy was nice and thick with pieces of sausage bits, but I found the biscuits on the dry side, rather than buttery and flaky. Eggs were prepared properly and had that satisfying "ooze" when the yolks were popped. Home fries tasted previously frozen and could've used a few more minutes in the fryer. Service was a bit slow as there was only one staff taking orders and delivering food. But he was friendly and would circle back around to check on our group frequently.
