There is…read morea major difference between managing staff and publicly humiliating, intimidating, and embarrassing someone in front of coworkers and customers. From what I observed, this employee was trying to explain herself while being spoken to aggressively and put in an uncomfortable position. Leadership is supposed to correct mistakes through training, professionalism, and respect -- not through yelling, power trips, or creating fear in the workplace. If an employee is doing something incorrectly, management should ask whether proper training was provided instead of choosing public humiliation. Human Resources needs to seriously review who is being placed in management roles and how authority is being used. When supervisors repeatedly demean employees, it can contribute to a hostile work environment and expose a company to serious concerns beyond poor customer service. As a customer, watching an employee be treated this way changed my opinion completely. How a business treats its workers says everything about the culture behind it. No one deserves to be bullied or degraded while simply trying to do their job.

The temperature was comfortable with a large fan in the corner circulating the air. A TV was playing an action movie that I didn't recognize. While I was there, several people popped in and out to pick up their call in orders. Most meats cost about $15 for a generous portion and sides are $4.50 each. I ordered the lunch special which consisted of eight wings, two sides, a beverage, and a dessert for $15.99. Total was $19.90 including tax and tip. I was provided a foam cup with ice and advised that I could pick from a choice of HEB sodas in the cooler. There were also two flavors of Kool-Aid in dispensers available. It felt like I was part of Bobby B's family. Relax, help yourself to a drink, and sit tight. Lunch will be served shortly. It took about 15 minutes for my food to be ready. My wings were brought to me in a styrofoam to go container with foil separating the wings from the sides of fried okra and potato salad. Two slices of bread were provided as well as a plastic fork. There were plenty of paper towels on each table. Straws were on the counter by the register. Oh my goodness! The food was delicious and more than made up for the simple decor. The wings and okra were hot and fresh. I had to be careful not to burn my fingers. The skin on the outside of the wings was crispy and flavorful. The chicken was moist and tender on the inside. The fried okra was crispy and well seasoned. The potato salad was good, but I suspect it may have been food service potato salad. The lemon cake I chose for dessert was tasty and moist. Overall, I was satisfied with the service and value for the price. I'll definitely be back to try a different lunch special in the future as the special changes daily.
