Friendly and helpful employees took our order. What we had was really good. Pasta cooked just right and sauce was very good. The marinara was good. Not too acidic. The Alfredo was totally awesome! Order: The Works - Meatball, Meat Sauce, Sausage, Mushrooms, & Marinara. Excellent food and service. Our birthday girls group always chooses Luigi's for our celebrations!

We are new to the area and stumbled across Luigi's. The ambience was nice with Sinatra in the background. We went for Linner. Later than lunch but to early for dinner. They promptly took our drink order and brought us some rolls while we browsed the menu. Husband ordered CHICKEN ALFREDO. He absolutely loved it. He said the sauce was perfect. He has plenty of leftovers for another meal. I had the EGGPLANT with a small side of pasta. It was enormous. It was very tasty and I enjoyed a small amount of it . I have another meal later with the take home portion. ROLLS: they were super soft had some seasoning on top. They had absolutely no flavor to them. My husband suggested maybe some melted garlic butter on top along with the seasoning.?? Or some olive oil with fresh cracked pepper to dip into.?? We didn't at all feel like we were in a strip center and the interior is very clean and decorative. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be coming back again. read more

The food was great. I had the Chicken Parmesan. It was a large portion and the red sauce was very good. My husband had the Lobster ravioli and finished the whole thing, which rarely happens. The service was great. We had a large crowd and our waitress was very calm and attentive. My only feedback would be to add garlic to the rolls you are served prior to the meal. read more

Came in with my family Saturday night, my server completely ignored my table. We sat there for a while until she finally came over, we over heard her being reminded multiple times about our table from other servers, yet she still took forever to get to us. She promised to bring bread then came back many minutes later to say they were completely out. We didn't get our bread until way into our time there. The pizza was delicious, however she handed me the hot pan instead of placing it on the table like how it's been done in the past. Our family loves this restaurant, however the new generation of servers haven't been the best. I'm guessing a change in management or ownership because the restaurant has declined significantly within the past few months. read more

I ordered the special Pesto Chicken Linguini and I was surprised to get Pesto soup Linguini and chicken. The typical rule of a proper pasta dish is NO sauce should remain on the plate when finished and should coat the pasta. This was so runny that the pasta was basically sauce-less since it was so runny. We have had other dishes here that were pretty good like the chicken parm, but this dish does not deserve to be a special let alone on the menu. Pesto is a paste, not a soup. read more

Made a reservation for four. Arrived on time and the place was empty except for a party of 8 who were obviously our waitress family. I asked for a table out in the open , " no everything is booked", party of 15 coming in. Lady literally stuffed us in a booth in the corner. Waitress comes back to check on us , I order four waters and two large pizzas. Can't take pizza order , comes back, forgot water. All this time brings food to the family. First pizza shows up, chicken and spinach, decent. Second pizza "supreme" shows up, literally a pepperoni pizza , nothing more. Waitress , comes back to," would you like to tab out? Cash or card? Cash is cheaper". Ok, so this whole time a table of two show up and the place is still empty except for the family of 8 who never paid for their meal. What I got was take out rolls. I ordered A dozen rolls and half a thing of marinara. They gave me an extremely tiny amount of marinara definitely not half. And all of my rolls were Black. For me to pay 8 dollars for rolls that taste like Chard and a tiny amount of marinara is ridiculous. If you're looking for rolls I recommend Italiano's in temple there rolls are a little more expensive but marinara is way better, they don't burn your rolls. And with every order you get FREE marinara. Will not be coming back. read more

The atmosphere was so welcoming. The food was to die for! We had the G.O.B??? I cannot remember exactly what it is called, but it's one of the best oil dip combo for bread that I have had in a LONG time. I also had the Chicken Florentine and it was delicious. This was our first visit to Luigi's, a restaurant in our neighborhood. I was hoping for a great evening with delicious Italian food. It was not to be. I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli Fettuccini Alfredo; a dish I had just been discussing with my husband a few days earlier. I was looking forward to a nicely spiced, moist-chicken dish with well-cooked pasta and a thick, creamy Alfredo sauce. It was not to be. The meal started with some knotted rolls on the table and small containers of butter. The rolls looked very appetizing and I was delighted they were presented to us. However, they were doughy; not fluffy, just heavy. The one I had sat in my stomach like a brick. My Alfredo dish was more than highly disappointing. The best part about it was the broccoli. The chicken strips were less than a centimeter wide, like ribbons of thin chicken....all over-cooked. No moist, seasoned bite. Just thin, tough, ribbons of chicken. The fettuccini was quite al dente. That may be a preference, but it was thick, and undercooked and just stuck in my teeth. No flavor, no satisfying texture. Finally, and most disappointing of all, was the "Alfredo" sauce. Well, it wasn't Alfredo...it had a slight "fishy" taste and I don't even want to think about why...was it cooked near fish, or was something going rancid in the sauce? And it wasn't a sauce...It was the opposite of creamy, it was anti-creamy. It was as liquid as broth. They either thin out their sauce far beyond the proper thinning boundaries should allow; or they do not strain their pasta before adding the sauce. It was soup. It was not the creamy, cheesy, garlicky, stick-to-the-pasta Alfredo sauce one expects with this dish. You can get a more satisfying experience from a jar. I could make a better sauce. I could make better pasta. I could make better chicken. I have. And, to save myself from eating at this local restaurant again, I will. The hostess that greeted us was pleasant. The waitress was attentive, but a bit rude. I appreciated her coming to check on us, but she constantly interrupted our conversations. Just stand there for 10 seconds and we will pause to address you. Don't walk up asking us things if we are actively engaged in dialogue. And, even though I wouldn't want to go to this restaurant and see this meal again...I had to view it once more anyway, at home, in my toilet, when I vomited it all up. Great Croatian cuisine! The salads are wonderful. The ambiance is personable. The service has changed somewhat, but still over par.

This quaint Italian bistro was so beautiful with a flare of homey. The staff was great and friendly, very attentive. Food was super amazing and delicious and fresh. Made to order plates. Prices are super reasonable for the amount you get. Family friendly atmosphere. Bathrooms are clean but little lighting. We will definitely be back soon. read more

I'm retiring Luigis as a place I will go eat. We've been going to Luigis since they opened, and they were pretty good at one point. I'll give them three stars for past experiences. Recently, it's been pretty bad, concluding with the food we got for takeout tonight. I ordered a chicken parm with tortellini. Overcooked and tasteless. Ordered three meatball subs, one without cheese, for my kids. All of them had cheese on them, so the non cheese kid wouldn't eat, and they were absolutely miserable sandwiches. They cut meatballs into three pieces to cover the sandwich and was soggy and gross. So no more Luigis for us, sorry to say, but it is what it is. read more

We went here to have an authentic italian dinner. I wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was horrific. Olive garden is 100% better than this place. We ordered chicken alfredo. It had absolutely no flavor or quality. It tasted like heavy cream with canned chicken and overcooked pasta. There was no music just awkward silence. The server didn't tend the table, we had to get up and go to the counter serval times. They didn't provide parmesan or a pasta spoon. They didn't refill water or bread. And the cherry on top- they charge extra to pay your bill with card but don't even tell you until you see it on the receipt! It's embarrassing as a small business to serve this to customers. Ordered the chicken parm. Sadly, I've had much better at a high school cafeteria. Chicken was tough to chew. The marinara/sauce/gravy they served with this dish was not flavorful at all. The spaghetti was a tad more on the al dente scale than I prefer (not quite uncooked tho). The "rolls" served with the meal appeared fresh baked; but, I highly doubt that (they were cold - in hindsight, I could have asked them to nuke the rolls and maybe that would have had a better result). If I could give half a star, I would rate as a 2.5 just for ambience (it's in a strip type mall and the inside appeared clean and comforting). Our waitress, who appeared to be a teenager, seemed annoyed that we weren't immediately ready to order once we sat down. She also seemed to rush us out the door by dropping the check down even while our guests were still eating. There had been plenty of open tables and no one waiting, so, I was confused as to the rushed paying of the bill. Regardless, we tipped 20+% and never received the obligatory "thanks for coming - see you soon" from any of the staff. Note: we did not mention any of our thoughts about the poor quality of food to our server - it's not her fault. So, maybe she was having a bad day?? Won't go back. I'm not sure what's going on with this place, but the last two times I've eaten there, I've ordered dishes to go, and they said they were chicken breasts of some sort... Both times, the chicken was sliced, as if something from H-E-B. The sauces were pretty good, but I'm looking for the actual chicken breast which has been sautéed or seasoned, like it is with chicken piccata. This is not impressive at all, and I'm wondering why this has changed. I would not recommend the chicken dishes. read more

My husband and I just had a date night here. For the past 4 years we've put our lives on hold to care for my Alzheimer's mother who just recently passed. We decided to go on a date before he has open heart surgery so he chose Luigi's. We went at 6:00pm. There was only one other couple in the entire restaurant. We ordered the Greek salad and lobster ravioli. The food was 5 stars. Our server, Izzy was AWFUL! She never once came to ask if we needed anything once she brought our food. I ran out of water and she never came to refill our glasses. I had a water bottle in my purse which I drank. She came when we were finished and we asked for the bill. I told her she would not receive a tip since we did not receive any service. We haven't been on a date in years-this is sad when young people today just stand around and talk to co-workers and ignore their paying customers! read more

Still going here once a month or so. Even though many of the servers seem to come and go, there are a few holdovers, and considering everything, the service is always either great or adequate. This is probably the most consistent and best value restaurant we have been to in Temple/Belton area and we eat out a decent bit. Such a huge menu we haven't even made a dent in it yet. OKay maybe the pizza could be a little more consistent but every pasta dish has been very good. They are struggling with all the Loop 121 road construction so help them out with some business. read more

Was in belton for a funeral and after a long day we just needed some comfort food and this was the first thing to pop up for Italian food. Pulling up it looked small and the only thing in the small retail that was open. We walked in and were instantly greeted and seated for 5 people. Our server was really nice and gave excellent service. We ordered fried calamari and a large Caesar salad as appetizers to share and they brought us two helpings of delicious bread knots. My parents ordered "the works pasta" and Tilapia dish while my siblings and I shared a large pepperoni pizza with jalapeños. Tilapia fish was okay but the pizza was thin and juicy cut into large slices was delicious. The pasta was a fave we all stole a bite from the plate. I've been eating here for the last 5-6 years if not that my family goes there every Sunday after church this restaurant is more then just restaurant to local community! I wouldn't take all this one star reviews of some first time visitors out of town who stuck eating at corporate restaurants... everyone knows Luigis food best Italian food in bell county!!! It had been several months since we were in Belton at lunch time so decided to get a good pizza not a chain product. Have had their specialty pizza several times and always enjoyed it but not this time. It looked the same but the tasteless crust was cardboard like something store bought. The first hint should have the garlic knots before lunch, if that what they were. They had no flavor and were always wonderful in the past. I guess my question is did they change management to to fall so short of what they were. Will be a long time till I try them again, very disappointed. read more

My husband and I came here for a rare occasion where we didnt have the kids. I was excited to try a new place as I had been craving Italian. Upon entering the facility I started to have instant regrets for our restraunt choice but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer. We went with the mozzarella caprese. It was very bland and not impressive. There was way to much balsamic vinegar and yet there was not much flavor. At one point I looked back into the kitchen and saw a waitress smoking from a vape or something similiar with smoke surrounding her in the kitchen as she walked out. It was definitely not something I expected or wanted to see inside the kitchen/restaurant area. It made me feel gross about the food that was about to come out. My husband got the lobster ravioli and he really enjoyed it. I got the eggplant parmesan it was ok..I wouldn't get it again though. The rolls were okay,nothing special .Honestly I wish I had just gone to the basic olive garden. That way i would have gotten a salad and great tasting breadsticks. The other down side is they do not have beer or drinks you need to B.Y.O.B but its $4. So there's that. The place seemed cleaned thought and had a nice 90's atmosphere. Not a huge deal but all the staff was eating there lunch in the dining area...not the Italian food but some Mexican food from somewhere else. PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH! This establishment has some nerve to call itself a restaurant. The service is sub par, the atmosphere bleak, and the food tastes better coming back up than it does going down. The bread is heavy and weighs you down before the meal even begins. Three bites in I had to stop and wait for my meal or I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. The joke was on me, because the chicken tasted like it had been left sitting out to thaw - then refrozen and left out again only to be overcooked by the chef. The sauces are watery, over salted and bear no resemblance to authentic Italian cuisine. You'd be better off going somewhere that actually cares about the customers. read more
