I wanted to try their chocolate mousse so I asked for a to go order. I waited like 25 minutes out in the sun. The hostess was very nice and thanked me for my patience. The chocolate mousse was amazing . It came with fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings, with a sprinkle of salt and chocolate crunchy candies on top. This place somehow never seems to earn less than 5 stars from me -- and it's not just because the cuisine is consistently excellent. In my opinion, the true measure of a business is how it handles things when something goes wrong, and this restaurant handled the situation exactly the way a quality establishment should. Here's what happened: I stopped in briefly to use the restroom and grab one of the spritzers they make here. First off, the spritzer is absolutely delicious -- light, refreshing, and something I highly recommend if you visit. Unfortunately, my interaction with the host was less than stellar. I asked about ordering the spritzer and was told two things: 1. He didn't think they made it. 2. He "didn't have time." That response honestly caught me off guard. A paying customer walks in asking to purchase a product your restaurant does in fact make, and the answer is that you don't have time? Serving guests is literally the core function of hospitality. Thankfully, one of the waitresses, Rachel, who had helped me during a previous visit completely turned the experience around. I asked her for the drink and without hesitation she smiled and said, "Right away!" Within moments she returned with the spritzer in hand. Professional, courteous, and exactly the kind of service that keeps people coming back. I explained the interaction to her and she looked genuinely puzzled. I later mentioned it to the manager, whom I've met before and always found to be approachable, professional, and kind. He was clearly appalled by what happened and handled the situation with sincerity and care. That's exactly why this place continues to earn high marks from me. Problems can happen anywhere. What matters is whether management and experienced staff know how to recover -- and they absolutely did. The seasoned staff and management here understand hospitality. It was good just not great. Not sure I would return for +$100 breakfast for 2 (not including tip). We were seated on the sidewalk next to the fresh flowers and under an umbrella. It was very nice and fun to people watch while eating brunch. It was a little noisy being seated so close to your neighbors. Was expecting to be wowed by service, taste, etc... and just wasn't. Medium burger was raw on one side?? not sure how that could even happen unless it was frozen or something? The short rib was good but again not amazing. Comely, popular and quite busy French Bistro on the south side of Coronado City. Loved my jambon sandwich and soup, very tasty. However what I came for was the signature hot chocolate served in a spiral croissant with a side of fresh whipped cream and strawberries. Heavenly. So much sugar that I decided to take a Mike walk to the Coronado Ferry Landing. The service is excellent. They work really hard and are able to maintain a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. I was impressed. Coronado city, which is also an island, is a great place to explore before or after you dine at Little Frenchie. I suggest you take a walk afterwards to burn of the sugar high. I had one and was seated right away, and both the host and waitress were really friendly. The place itself is super cute with a slightly dressy vibe, which feels very Coronado. We had kind of a disappointing meal. My wife's Parisian hot chocolate was a lovely experience, but there were failures for the rest of the table. My daughter got a Nutella crepe and it was missing Nutella in a huge section of the crepe (just layers of plain crepe there). I got a Jamon sandwich that came out as cold ham on a cold baguette; missing cornichon and mustard. They fixed both problems but it just put a damper on the whole meal. Even fixed, the Jamon sandwich was an embarrassment. The potato leek soup was delicious but the sandwichwas clumsy, had very little flavor, and just not enjoyable to eat. I've had much better at Panera bread and for a heck of a lot less money. Service was good. Our server Jorge did his best to make it all work, but he wasn't supported by the kitchen. The hostess seated us even though we didn't have a reservation with just an ask to keep our meal under a time limit that we agreed to and appreciated. Can't fault either of those interactions. TL;DR: A super cute Coronado brunch spot with amazing service, but the food is a bit overpriced for what you get. The savory dishes like the steak and eggs or croque monsieur are just okay, but the thick Parisian Hot Chocolate with a flaky croissant cup is an absolute must-try. This is a super cute spot located in a really nice area of Coronado. We went for brunch, and it definitely got pretty busy--they seated us right at the time of our reservation, so I'd highly recommend booking ahead if you can. We chose to sit inside, and while the interior can feel a bit cramped when it's packed, the noise level isn't too bad at all and it's still a really enjoyable atmosphere. To start things off, we ordered the French onion soup as an appetizer. It was pretty good, coming out with the cheese melted wonderfully over the top and nice bits of soaked bread hidden within the broth. For the main entrees, the food was honestly just okay, especially considering the higher price point. We ordered the steak and eggs, and while the steak and eggs were both cooked perfectly to our liking, the side of asparagus strips tasted like they had absolutely no seasoning on them. The steak itself had decent flavor, but the hollandaise sauce they put on top definitely carried the dish. I also got the Croque Monsieur, which was a bit hit-or-miss--some bites had the perfect amount of Dijon mustard and tasted splendid, while other bites felt like all I was eating was mustard. It came with a side salad that was supposed to have a vinaigrette, but I could've sworn I was just eating plain lettuce. The real reason we came, though, was for the Parisian Hot Chocolate, and that did not disappoint. It has this perfect, rich thickness that is so delectable, and the presentation is amazing. We paid extra for the croissant cup which was super flaky and pairs perfectly with the chocolate. The whipped cream wasn't super sweet which is perfect and mixed well with the strawberries--though the strawberries are an extra cost, it was such a nice addition. The service here is great, and our server, Janiss, was absolutely amazing and so kind. She constantly checked up on us and really elevated the whole experience with her bright smile and solid recommendations. Overall, Little Frenchie is worth it for the hot chocolate and likely their other pastries, but the actual brunch food doesn't quite live up to the steep price tag. It's been a hot second since I've been here and decided I needed some French fare and stopped by. We had only been here for dinner but decided to come for breakfast. Through this process I learned they have mimosas, fresh squeezed juice (recommend the orange juice!), and their signature hot chocolate (that you can get IN a croissant!). The herbs and the creme fraîche inside of it was super flavorful. I got the croque madame and just as I said last time this may be the best one I've had. Thick. Savory. Sweet. Perfection! For both is us we subbed salad with potatoes (highly recommend!). I asked for mine to be crispy and they CAME THROUGH. Divine. Next time will get more of their pastries as they are homemade. They have a pastry board which we will definitely do next time around!
