Definitely one of the top spots in SD to get some French food. I'm not going to pretend that I have a lot of experience in French cuisine, but for what it's worth's it was delicious. I had the Frenchie dip. It was the BEST French Dip that I've had.the bread and meat combo was simple yet delicious. The Au Jus sauce was so flavorful. For dessert we had the Parisian hot chocolate. It was decadent and delicious. The chocolate combined with the pastry was so mouth watering. Service was amazing as the staff are kind and knowledgeable. My friends and I were in town and everyone except me saw a video of Little Frenchie's viral hot chocolate in the croissant cup, so we got ourselves a brunch reservation on our last day in town to try that! Even though it was a Wednesday, the place was packed and they did not allow any walk-ins, reservations only. We ordered a bunch of stuff to share: * Parisian Hot Chocolate ($16) with two spiral cups ($6 each) as add-on * French Onion Soup ($22) * GB&J ($22) with bacon add-on ($4) * The Frenchie Dip ($28) The hot chocolate is decadent and best consumed with the spiral cup. If you just want a taste, one pot is enough for 2-3 people. For our group of 4, two spiral cups (aka the croissant) gave each of us a nice amount of croissant-hot chocolate ratio to enjoy. All the food we ordered was quite yummy! We split it all and was sufficiently satisfied without feeling too food comatose. Our favorite, besides the hot chocolate with spiral cup, was the GB&J with bacon (do not skip on the bacon). Our server was awesome and so was everyone at Little Frenchie. We were checked on several times during our meal to make sure our food was okay and whether we needed anyone. The cafe itself is such a cute and fun brunch spot. The experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. While we were waiting to check in, the waitstaff repeatedly came in and out without making eye contact or acknowledging us, and no one seemed particularly happy to be there. The hostess gave us a very forced "How are you?" with minimal eye contact and no smile, which did absolutely nothing to make us feel welcome. She may be the owner or part owner, because otherwise I honestly don't understand how that level of customer service is acceptable. The restaurant itself had a strong smell that reminded me of old, spoiled cheese. The tables were very small, and the overall space felt cramped. The staff seemed completely disengaged and seemed like they didn't want to be there. Our waiter wasn't rude, but he was far from attentive. He offered a substitution without telling us that it would cost extra. Later, I waited quite a while for an opportunity to ask for more coffee, only to see him outside in the back on his phone. Unfortunately, the food was just as underwhelming as the service. Everything we ordered was bland and under-seasoned. We had the buckwheat crêpe and the croissant benedict, and "meh" would actually be generous when describing the flavor. Spending around $100 for breakfast would be fine if the food and experience were worth it, but this was $100 for mediocre food, poor service, and an atmosphere that felt anything but welcoming. Tried out the Little frenchie after the Instagram of the hot chocolate in the croissant video reached me. My friend and I made reservations, which I would recommend especially for a weekend. We received great service from the hostess and servers. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our server gave us tips on how to enjoy the food we ordered best. I did not try the French dip, but it looked good. I had the rib hash. It was delicious. The mushrooms were just soaked in great flavor from the beef and all the seasonings. For the finale, i tried the Parisian Chocolate with strawberries and croissants. It's good but too much for one person. Customer service is good especially our waitress. Inside is small but they also have outside patio. I don't like to be seating by the restroom, for some reason I have a feeling we are gonna be placed by the restroom (cuz the place inside is small), but they are nice enough to move us away from the restroom when we requested to be transferred. Little Frenchie is super cute! My friend and I went and ordered two coffees, a main dish and the hot chocolate croissant. The serving sizes were really small for the prices they charge just be aware! We paid $80 total with a tip and still left hungry. The food was good though but not worth $25 for a croissant. I think it's a fun spot to go but the prices they charge are a little crazy for the value you get. We also were hoping to take photos and noted it in our reservation we made weeks in advance yet were placed in a corner by the bathrooms so be aware if you're coming to take cute photos you may not be able to get any. I arrived at 4:30 p.m. (they close at 9:00pm) and, despite there being many empty tables, I was told they only accepted reservations and the earliest available table was at 6:00 p.m.--even though I was dining alone. It honestly felt like they prioritized larger parties over a solo diner, since so many tables remained empty for well over an hour. I explained that I had come specifically for the hot cocoa spiral croissant, and they let me know it was first come, first served. I accepted that and returned at 5:45 p.m. When I came back, the restaurant still had plenty of empty tables, and at 6:00 p.m. I was seated at the exact same table for two that had been empty for almost an hour and a half. After being seated, I waited another 10 minutes before anyone came to my table. During that time, several staff members walked by, moving things around, but no one acknowledged me, even though the restaurant wasn't full. When my server finally arrived, I was told they had already run out of the hot cocoa spiral croissant. They did offer me a complimentary pastry, which I appreciated, but after waiting so long, it felt like a waste of time. Took my son's girlfriend here as a celebration she just passed her clinical exam to become an official Physical Therapist! I had the Eggs Benedict on a croissant and she had the Quiche. In my opinion, the true measure of a business is how it handles things when something goes wrong, and this restaurant handled the situation exactly the way a quality establishment should. Here's what happened: I stopped in briefly to use the restroom and grab one of the spritzers they make here. First off, the spritzer is absolutely delicious -- light, refreshing, and something I highly recommend if you visit. Unfortunately, my interaction with the host was less than stellar. I asked about ordering the spritzer and was told two things: 1. He didn't think they made it. 2. He "didn't have time." That response honestly caught me off guard. A paying customer walks in asking to purchase a product your restaurant does in fact make, and the answer is that you don't have time? Serving guests is literally the core function of hospitality. Thankfully, one of the waitresses, Rachel, who had helped me during a previous visit completely turned the experience around. I asked her for the drink and without hesitation she smiled and said, "Right away!" Within moments she returned with the spritzer in hand. Professional, courteous, and exactly the kind of service that keeps people coming back. I explained the interaction to her and she looked genuinely puzzled. I later mentioned it to the manager, whom I've met before and always found to be approachable, professional, and kind. He was clearly appalled by what happened and handled the situation with sincerity and care. That's exactly why this place continues to earn high marks from me. Problems can happen anywhere. What matters is whether management and experienced staff know how to recover -- and they absolutely did. The seasoned staff and management here understand hospitality. It was good just not great. Not sure I would return for +$100 breakfast for 2 (not including tip). We were seated on the sidewalk next to the fresh flowers and under an umbrella. Medium burger was raw on one side?? not sure how that could even happen unless it was frozen or something? The short rib was good but again not amazing. My husband kept saying this was hands down the best breakfast he's had in a long time, and that's saying a lot because he's a serious foodie. I wanted to try their chocolate mousse so I asked for a to go order. I waited like 25 minutes out in the sun. The hostess was very nice and thanked me for my patience. The chocolate mousse was amazing . It came with fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings, with a sprinkle of salt and chocolate crunchy candies on top. The menu has nothing vegan nor vegetarian, just unhealthy overpriced stuff. A disgrace to the lovely normally welcome City of Coronado. The food presentation is the draw here but it's not worth the trouble or the wait. This place needs a visit from a health department inspector! It hasn't been inspected since 2024! As a former CA state & federal health department restaurant inspector I would not eat here based on what I saw. Or if you are just who expects clean and friendly - skip. However what I came for was the signature hot chocolate served in a spiral croissant with a side of fresh whipped cream and strawberries. Heavenly. So much sugar that I decided to take a Mike walk to the Coronado Ferry Landing. The service is excellent. They work really hard and are able to maintain a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. I was impressed. Coronado city, which is also an island, is a great place to explore before or after you dine at Little Frenchie. I suggest you take a walk afterwards to burn of the sugar high. We were sat outside as a party of six at a table that comfortably seats four (with reservations) so 2 people had to sit in direct sunlight in the dregs of summer, and no way to adjust since we were already overcrowding the table. I just think when you're paying $400 for brunch, you shouldn't have to be uncomfortable the entire meal. The pastry board was delicious, flaky and not too sweet. My Benedict was very sub-par, although the crispy potatoes with caramelized onions were delicious, the Benedict itself was a soggy, tasteless mess. The poached eggs were cooked well, but there is an inch of compressed spinach on the croissant, and the croissant itself doesn't hold up well to everything else.
