Me and my girlfriend were stranded in hampstead, it was scary and we needed an affordable fast place because we had to immediately get to the doctors clinic, i was scared i had something. everything is good though so don't worry. the food was delectable and Crystal our server was so kind and giving. we even met Little G he was little so it was accurate which we appreciated. right before we left Little G said to us 'now you girls stay safe out there' and winked, i swear i saw a sparkle in his eye. so beautiful and loved the ambiance and made friends with the old couple sitting next nearby! will be returning and you should too! read more

My daughter and I were really looking forward to breakfast at Little G's Diner, but unfortunately, the experience was a letdown from start to finish. It wasn't very crowded, yet we waited more than 10 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and it was nearly 30 more minutes before our food arrived. When it finally did, it was cold. During that time, we noticed two tables that came in 10-15 minutes after us not only got their food first, but also finished and checked out before we did. On top of that, we felt like our waitress was ignoring us--she only came back to refresh coffee after we had already received our food and never once asked if I wanted a refill on my drink. To make matters worse, it took an unusually long time to get a carry-out box and our check after we were finished. What should have been a pleasant breakfast turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. Sadly, we left feeling like we won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

Dad and I visited the other day. With Carroll County having a strange dearth of diners for a country area, we were very hopeful. Overall it was a good experience. It's in the same small space a previous diner was, but they are making good use of the space. It also has a few games on a little shelf to potentially engage or distract kiddos. The food was good. The portions are small. This is clearly a small amount of taters and eggs. It's also a little overpriced, but I wouldn't fault them for that if the portions were a little bigger because they're a small business. This plate is $12.50. read more

We were looking for a place to eat and this came up in search. It's in a tiny shopping strip . The place is clean and very inviting. The food was great we brought had omelettes one was cheese and the other crab. There was a large amount of crab. It was so good. Disappointed and Won't be back. Besides the food being cold and way overpriced. Overheard the owner / chef Chris Coil calling a table of people trash and threatening to call the police on them. Me and my wife felt so awkward so uncomfortable being there and our little girl was scared seeing this grown man act so hostile towards customers . I hope he can get his act together for his own family's sake. If people go there to support his family he shouldn't have any issues being civil to others and their family. read more

ehhh I really liked Hampstead dinner and went back to recapture that feeling but its gone... i don't get the name thing "little g". I thing but anyway. the feeling wasn't there and hence a let down... food was high cost, especially when we compared it to other local spots in the Hampstead and Manchester area... Hey speaking of Manchester the Dutch country diner is just minutes up the road and they have a very real country feel... That's the place to go if you like that warm country breakfast feel... price is right and waitress are very friendly and the cost is normal. read more

Went to it because I like sausage gravy and Spargos is a bit further up the road. Only Little G and Spargos have it. The wait to get service and then to get me breakfast was long and the coffee mediocre at best ( maybe due to the dish soap used or poor rinsing) So the biscuits( supposedly home mad, were mediocre but the gravy was just lousy bad. Very little of it . Ate about two bites. Told the waitress what else do you have and I got the bun. That was good. Was far to expensive for what they serve. Later found they worked a food truck serving one item, it shows. They need a real cook or chef, people cooking have not a clue how to make breakfast. Coffee does taste like the crap you get on food trucks. The owners should visit Spargos and Plum Crazy to see what good service consists of and what normal portion sizes are, because they have no idea yet. read more

So we tried to try this diner today but after standing in the front waiting for a hostess for about 10 minutes, we had to flag one down and was told the wait would be a while we had kind of a large party. We were able to peek inside though and after renovating from what was previously the Hampstead diner, they took out about 40 seats that previously used to be there! The front room is now counter seating for maybe 8 to 10 people and the room off to the side is now storage! Makes absolutely no sense! The menu is is not a true "diner" menu style it should actually be called Little G's Cafe which is the vibe it gives! After waiting outside for about 20 minutes we finally just left and went to J&p. I truly do wish them luck but they definitely need more seating and they definitely need a better menu. read more

On Friday, September 19th, my friend Lynn, her 81 year old father-in-law, my 85 year old dad, and myself were told to leave Little G's Diner in Hampstead, Maryland by owner Christopher Coil (also owner of Bebo's Mac Shack ) My dad absolutely loves his cream chip beef and gravy. We follow local restaurants in the area for the BEST OF THE BEST. I recently started following Little G's on Facebook, mainly because they bot only serve Cream chip beef gravy, but also sausage gravy. So, today was supposed to be a special day for two veterans to finally meet and break bread. We got there shortly after 11. Lynn's father-in-law doesn't like breakfast, so he was going to get a cheeseburger. Lynn ordered some pancakes and a side of sausage, and I was going to order the crab omelet, which I was SO excited to try. The waitress apologized because lunch wasn't available until 11:30. At this time, it was about 11:10, so Lynn ordered fruit and yogurt, but once again, the waitress said they didn't have yogurt. So, Mr. Joe ended up ordering a scrambled egg with bacon. The waitress came back and brought the drinks along with the silverware wrapped in a napkin like most diners. As I opened my napkin, I immediately noticed the knife was extremely greasy. I took my index finger and thumb along the butter knife, and yes, it was definitely covered in grease. We then opened the remaining napkins, and 3 out of 4 knives were not clean. As we waited for our waitress, I began talking to two women sitting at the booth across from us. One asked me if I knew what a Rachel was. I said basically it's a Ruben but with hot turkey instead of beef. She said that's what I thought, but I got a cold sandwich with coleslaw. She explained how she wasn't happy with it, but she ate it anyway. Now, keep in mind that the women I've been talking to were already sitted and eating their LUNCH when we arrived. After going back to the table, we were wondering how the got served lunch, so Lynn asked one of the girls that worked there. She wasn't completely sure as they were all in the kitchen at the moment discussing what time lunch is. 11 or 11:30. I am shocked that are literally having a meeting after 11 as to what time the lunch shift is. It was insane. When our meal came, I immediately noticed that my dad's barely had any chipped beef, but I thought if he liked it, that's what matters. Meanwhile, I cut into my omelet, and a massive amount of cheese came out. I pulled the cheese with my hands, and it just kept coming and coming. The cheese had a strange texture, it was rubbery and not something I wanted to eat, so I picked what crab was in the cheese, which wasn't much and continued to cut open my omelet. Once I cut it opened I realized that this omelet definitely wasn't worth $15.00! It was barely any crab meat on it! Ibdo believe the massive amount of cheese was to cover up the fact that it lacked crab meat. No, not what I expected at all! At this point, Lynn never got her sausage, Mr. Joe's bacon was too hard to eat, and after 3 bites, my dad looked at me and said I can't eat this, it's horrible. I returned my plate as did my dad...this is not something we have ever done before. After about another 10 to 15 minutes, the owner approached our table and asked what the problem was. We began to tell him, but even before we were done explaining, he told us that our bill was paid for and we needed to leave. I asked why, since Lynn was still eating and without explaining, he again said we had to leave. I noticed the women that I was talking to were looking at me, so I attempted to go to them and say goodbye and have a nice day. That is when the owner puffed out his chest with his hands held outside to side and was actually blocking me from approaching these women. He got extremely close to me, yelling that I was not allowed to talk to his customers. I told him that I have been talking to them and I will continue to talk to them because last I noticed, I live in a free world. He then pulled out his phone and said that he was calling the police. I told him to do so because I would explain what he was doing, and I have plenty of witnesses. When he got SO close to me, I did start yelling because I wasn't sure at this point if he was going to hit me. As we started to walk out, I hesrd the owner say. "TRASH" I paused and quickly turned around. This is when I lost it and yelled, "did you just call me f'ing trash?!?!" Lynn yelled, "he just called you trash!" THEN, he picked up his phone and said he was going to call yhe police. I told him to do it and if he needs the number, it's 911!!! At this point, I was hoping he would call. He is a heavy man, about 6' and I am only a 5'3" woman. I can not believe that the owner of business carries in like this and talks to customers the way he does. read more
