Butter Chicken, rice and garlic naan

Best butter chicken I've ever had. Why this place isn't packed right now, I don't know. Maybe because its lunch time. Server is very nice and offered some great options. I'll definitely come back and try the chicken tikka masala.

Wonderful service on this cold, rainy winter night. Sadly it was cold inside too since it is one of those small strip mall kind of places. But the food warmed us right up! Vegetable thali plate, chicken curry, roti and chai masala was our order, all at medium spice level. First bites were spicy but then we got used to it and we ate up every bit. Not a 5 star dinner but everything was fresh, hot and tasty as expected. We especially liked the mustard greens, the daikon radish with mustard and the eggplant. Dahl soup was a bit salty for our taste though still good. Roti was solid and the chai was freshly made, yay! Chicken curry was tender. We'd certainly go back on a warmer day. Himalayan restaurants are beautifully calm and inviting so it would be nice to experience this place again under other conditions.

Little Kathmandu opened in Vietnam Grille's space. Same infrastructure, new decor/menu. Seated promptly, got menu, ordered. Got eats within 15 minutes. Mostly made to order. Some reheated expertly without loss of flavors. Offerings (Indian, Nepalese/Himlayan): appetizers, vegetables, lamb & goat, tandoori specials, momos, Himalayan thali... Bites: Himalayan thali with goat curry (19.99) -lamb wasn't available. Goat curry was. Goat meat falling off the bone deliz. Curry spicy not too hot. -pickles slightly tart. Cucumber, carrot slices fresh. -rice pudding fresh tasting. Cool dish to cool spice. -papadum crunchy freshly made. Teepee shaped. -lentil soup watery. Slightly salty. Satisfying. -leafy greens non spicy, ok to cleanse palate -lotsa fresh fluffy long grain basmatic rice. Great! -mixed veggie curry with green beans, potato, cauliflower. Kinda spicy. 4.5 stars Worthy! Quality/Quantity very good. May is Asian American, Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Great little hole in the wall. Service and food were great. All of my dishes were fresh and steaming hot, just how I like it!

My cousin has a soft spot for Little Kathmandu and wanted to take me. After getting off work, we decided to have a cousin night out! The restaurant is small and not noticeable from the outside. Inside are several tables and homey Indian and Nepalese decor. We were one of the only customers but service was quite slow. It took a while for our food to come out and we weren't checked on for most of our meal. There are a few items I can always count on when trying a new Indian restaurant. One of those is Chicken Tikka Masala. I got it mild. The chicken was nicely sized but I felt the curry wasn't as robust. The spices weren't as present, the color was much lighter than I was used to, and it was quite heavy and creamy. My cousin had the Medium Chicken Butter Chicken, which was good. We enjoyed an order of Garlic Naan that we shared. What I liked was that our dishes came with rice and portions were well sized. It's nice to branch out, but I do prefer other Indian restaurants over Little Kathmandu. Located in the small shopping plaza, there's free parking in the lot.

Little Kathmandu may look like a simple takeout spot in the Cerrito Galleria, but it's a true hidden gem. Chef Kunsang Dorje, who came from Tibet nearly 20 years ago, serves a delicious mix of Nepalese, Tibetan, and Indian flavors. The vegetarian korma is rich yet light, the samosas are perfectly crisp, and the paneer naan is indulgent enough to be a meal. Don't miss the Mustang Aaloo, shabhaley dumplings, or the slow-cooked goat curry packed with Nepali spices like timur and jimbu. For dessert, the KTM Kulfi with cardamom and pistachio is the perfect finish. Warm decor, thoughtful touches, and friendly service make this small spot feel big in heart and flavor.

    Momos

This place is amazing from little puri bowls that explode in your mouth to momos and butter chicken, it doesn't get any better. The Mustang style French fries are CRAZY good!!! This is our third time here and we are still finding new treasures. It's a hole in the wall atmosphere, but that just adds to the feeling that you have been transported to Nepal. Every time we have had the sweetest server that ensures our happiness and inspires us with theirs.

The flavors were really authentic to Nepal. Loved the quick service . Space was small & cozy. The momo jhol was however less than expected. Will be back soon again!

Ordered 2 chicken and 1 beef momo and all 3 were not cooked thoroughly. The inside of the top of the momo were white raw and simply not cooked. So disappointed with this place. The bottom of the momos were over cooked and all soggy but the top was uncooked. I did not want to write this but this is simply a health hazard so i am compelled to write this.

The chicken tikka masala is a classic and definitely worth getting; it's flavorful and reliably good every time. But what really surprised me was the shrimp curry. I went in expecting the shrimp to be a bit overcooked or limited in quantity, but that wasn't the case at all. The shrimp were actually cooked really well and there was a generous amount in the dish, making it feel like a great value. One thing to keep in mind, rice doesn't automatically come with the curries, so you'll have to order it separately if you want it. That said, we usually skip the rice and go for naan instead, specifically the potato naan and garlic naan. Between the two, you get a really nice contrast in texture. The potato naan is thicker, soft, and fluffy on the inside, almost like a comforting, filled bread, while the garlic naan is thinner with a slightly crispy edge. Make sure not to sleep on the free chai tea, it's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Off to the right of the cashier desk, there's a little self-serve station with cups, sugar packets, stir sticks, and a large container filled with hot chai. You can pour as much as you want, whenever you want, which is a nice touch and a great way to round out the meal. One thing to note about the atmosphere: there are occasional slow periods where the place can get really quiet, and you might even find yourself as the only table there. It can feel a little awkward in those moments, but it just depends on the time of day. When it's busy, though, it has a much more lively, energetic feel. Overall, it's a solid, low-key spot with good food, a family-friendly environment, and a few nice little perks that make it stand out.

We had prawn biryani, shaptak pork, shahi paneer, chicken vindaloo, lamb tikka masala, aloo gobi, prawn coconut, chicken tandoori, yellow curry dal, garlic and onion naan bread. We ate well and all the sauces, curries and favors were amazing with everything being just what we had hoped. I was especially fond of the shrimp coconut, but the birthday girl loved the spiced up lamb. There were no complaints, which is miracle enough with a big family meal. We'll be back to try more of their menu!

How DO they do it? - best aloo palak I've ever had. It's so creamy without being actually heavy on the cream. - garlic naan was soft and fluffy. I could have done with more garlic flavor. - paneer tikka masala had good flavor. It was still too sweet for my taste, but I think most people would enjoy it. - best mango lassi I've had. The perfect level of sweetness, and I will say most Indian restaurants sweeten their mango lassis WAY too much. - good service - big parking lot (not sure if it's Bevmo's, but we parked there anyway) Cons: - they were out of strawberry lassi :[ and another flavor too (I forget which). Either way, the only option was mango. - there are flies inside the restaurant and it's annoying to swat them out of the way throughout the meal.

I like the crispy, but I wasn't too fond of the filling to be chilled. It also had a slight sweetness to it and it wasn't my favorite. I've had it before, but I don't remember it being chilled on the inside, but what I do like about it what is that? It has a crispy shell when you bite into it. The veggie samosas were my favorites. The butter chicken was kind of bland as well as the tikka masala. It did not stop me from finishing my garlic naan with our dishes but I found myself wishing it was more flavorful. My vegan mango lassi had a taste that I wasn't too fond of and didn't finish it. At the end of the meal, it was more than $100 and that was sticker shock for me. I thought they might be closed because the front gate is closed, but if the side gate through the parking lot is open, it's open. They were closing a little early for another event, so I waited about 15 minutes to get takeout and took it to a nearby park. The Chatamari is a great gluten-free option with its rice dough, I wasn't sure if it would be enough for a meal but it was plenty for $12! Topped with minced chicken, egg & a ton of spice, this place is not dialing down the spice for 'American' palates. Like a 'pizza' the rice dough is nice and chewy, but doesn't make you feel too stuffed. I want to go back and try the Bala made with lentils, and the Yomari dessert. The momo have a nice strong wrapper (hate it when those fall apart), good size with 8 for $12, they gave me half veggie & meat, thank you!
