You have to walk up a slight hill on Carver Street to get here, and it was no surprise that it was relatively packed with all the terrace seats taken. And yet, the ambiance was quite chill. Everyone was looking relaxed and definitely not on the make. Customers skewed a tad older here, which made us feel right at home. We were particularly impressed that the veteran bartender had a mixing container dedicated to their espresso martinis, so of course, we ordered a pair for $16 each (photo: https://yelp.to/VmjWNmEyk0). We sat near the fireplace and just let the smooth libations and mellow dudes give us the P-Town karma. COCKTAILS - 4 stars...readymade espresso martinis were almost too easy to drink...almost AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...like someone's back patio SERVICE - 4 stars...cool bartender has been around the block a few times TOTAL - 4 stars...a welcome chill spot in the middle of P-Town RELATED - Exploring Provincetown? This is actually the in-house bar cafe for the compact Staypineapple Hotel where we were staying in Boston (review: https://yelp.to/iittq3ioql). As a hotel guest, we were entitled to complimentary glasses of wine (photo: https://yelp.to/VZfvDvRXXU). Chardonnay for Jamie, Merlot for me. They were generous pours, and it was a nice enough experience that we came back twice during our stay. Each time, we both went for the $15 A Cup of Joe, an espresso martini with vodka, kahlua, and for $2 more, Bailey's (photo: https://yelp.to/gOfz2lyTgh). That was a refreshing delight worth repeating, and the staff was quite friendly. Definitely inclusive here but if you want a more distinctively gay experience, go to Club Cafe (review: https://yelp.to/ij4qTOWnsD). So, I was understandably hesitant about a new bar moving into what was considered by many to be hallowed ground. Since I walk by it on my way home from work, I decided to stop in soon after it first opened to see what it was like. And now I am a regular and it's one of my favorite watering holes in the city. Super cool atmosphere, with tons of horror movie memorabilia on the walls. A couple of pinball machines ( including a brand new Evil Dead one which is really sweet), and neat liitle outback area for nicer days. They also occasionally have music and drag shows inside, and in the summer months cool shows outside in the parking lot next door. You can also grab a grilled cheese or a hot dog from Puggles Grilled Cheese most days of the week if you're feeling peckish. And my favorite thing... PICKLEBACKS.... !!!! All the drinks are cheap and they have a good selection of beers and ciders. Maybe most importantly, the owners Jeff and Courtney are absolutely lovely people who really understood keeping the locals vibe of the E & O era but also being it's own thing. Definitely support this great establishment.

They also have a great jukebox. Bartenders are friendly and quick. There's usually some kind of punch available with a name like Ecto-cooler which is a weird color but completely delicious if you're into that sort of thing. They sometimes have pop-ups there, one time they had fancy grilled cheese sandwiches. Definitely a fun spot! It's pretty small inside so just know that and don't roll in with a huge crew...
