This place gets huge ratings and I've always wanted to try it, but I was never in town. However, that changed today when I gave my brother a ride to pick up his truck from the shop in Ceres. My son, brother, and I made the trek. Located inside a Chevron gas station, it is rather concealed if you don't know the location. We were greeted by the owner and, as first timers, asked him for the rundown. He said he is known for his tortas and recommended the Torta Cubana. That is what both my brother and I ordered (with egg added). My son custom made a breakfast burrito (which the owner said was also a popular choice, served all day). We each got Horchata drinks, which are handmade using the owner's mom's recipe. The dining room has lots of clean tables, so we sat and waited with eager anticipation. Our food came promptly and included two large squeeze jars of homemade salsa (green and red) to add as topping. The high ratings are well deserved. The Cubana torta was awesome, a great combination of meats. My son barely finished his breakfast burrito and he said it was one of the best he's had. Horchatas were awesome and the salsas were excellent. The owner was super helpful and extremely friendly. You can tell he takes pride in his food and wants the customer to enjoy their experience. Now that we know how good this place is, we won't be afraid to make the drive from out of town to visit again!

3rd day in a row for lunch. I'm in love with their food. Yes it's kinda weird they're located inside the Chevron gas station but OMG you gotta try their food. The vegetarian burrito is so amazing I've had it 2 days in a row. My first visit I had the potato taquitos also exquisite. Their salsa both the green and red are equally amazing. My tongue can't decide which is better. I literally want to lick the lil container they give you clean. I'll be back to try their torts with egg, cheese and potato and their chiliquiles.

I stopped by Chevron while my car was getting serviced next door and smelled something amazing. I followed my nose to the back and saw someone chowing down on a torta, instantly making me hungry. The staff member who greeted me was super friendly. After some chat, I decided to go for the chili relleno burrito, a dish I'd never tried before. The burrito came out quick, and let me tell you, it was girthy - the size of my forearm and thick thicccc. When I took that first bite, it was heaven. The rice and beans had a nice seasoning and the green chili was tender melted cheese inside. Both their red and green sauces were bomb too. Honestly, it's one of the best burritos I've ever had in the 209. I'd totally recommend trying the supreme chili relleno burrito, and next time, I'm definitely adding Carne Asada to it!!!

This place is amazing! Known about it since 2021, had the joy of bringing my s/o to this spot and he was amazed as well. Cuban is my favorite!

The food and service here is great! It's almost like a hidden gem and I hope to see this place expand in the future. Highly recommend the Cuban Torta, it's fire!

Grilled Grill Chicken Torta both salsas are so good!

If I am on this side of Ceres and I'm hungry, this is a go to spot! Food is so good, and very nice people. It is inside a gas station, which looks a little odd or seems like it, but I swear it is a legit place to eat ! I got a grilled chicken torta this time & in the past have had their burritos

Pretty good but pricey. I got a chili relleno burrito with asada and it was 19 dollars.

There was no lettuce, salsa, guacamole, tomatoes, or any of the other toppings you'd expect in a burrito bowl. I'm giving it 2 stars only because the beans and chicken tasted good. However, paying $23 for a bowl this bare is hard to justify. I even asked for salsa on the side, and it wasn't included with my order. For the price, I expected a much more complete meal. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing, and I won't be returning.

We ordered cheese enchiladas and chicken fajitas this time. The service was good. The waitress checked on us. We got seated in the garden patio and it was nice there. They kept it cool. The food was okay. The fajitas were served smoking hot with side of tortillas and sour cream, pico, and guacamole only. The veggies were well grilled and overall pretty tasty. I opted to not get beans. The enchiladas were okay. I didn't like them very much last time, and still didn't like them this time, either. We ordered the churro dessert. It came served with a side of ice cream and whipped cream. It was also okay. My visit to La Morenita was better this time than the last time, but still the menu felt pricier and probably won't come back. P.S. The chips and salsa were really yummy.

We also got the Mexican pizza (didn't get a picture) which was also really good, the grilled jalapeños and onions were the perfect addition to the pizza and the tortilla itself was soft but not soggy with all the toppings. Dessert options were a little sad, they don't have much, but the chocoflan did not disappoint. It was very decadent without tasting overly sweet. Now for service. We had reservations at 5:30pm on a Saturday so wasn't too busy yet. Got seated fast. Our server was a gem, don't remember his name, but he went above and beyond with accommodating dietary restrictions. Service was a bit slow on drinks but our server apologized for that. I didn't mind, I rather my food comes out first anyway. All in all, great experience, great food. Will be back to try more!

We've ordered a wide variety of items from the menu, and every single thing has been incredible. The carnitas are hands down some of the best we've ever had--perfectly tender, flavorful, and with just the right amount of crisp. And the burritos? Huge, packed with quality ingredients, and bursting with authentic flavor in every bite. You can really tell they care about what they're serving. Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and made with consistency. It's rare to find a place where everything you try hits, but this is definitely one of them. If you're in the area (or even if you're not), it's absolutely worth checking out. This is going to be a regular stop for us from now on. It's so good I forgot to take pics of the food!

They are a pretty new establishment (at least based on the number of reviews) in Ceres, and is across the street from the Home Depot and Grocery Outlet. The inside is lined with booths and a few tables in the center, with a lot of warm terracotta vibes throughout. When we arrived, it was particularly smoky from an apparently really hot plate and it left a hazy fog around the whole restaurant when we sat down at our booth lol There were also several annoying flies during our meal that brought my rating down. We ordered: Nacho fries - The fries on this were more reminiscent of home fries/breakfast potatoes as they weren't really crispy, and more soggy. The asada and guac was plentiful. Overall this dish did its job of satiating SO's craving. Tripa California burrito - This wasn't bad at all! It came with a really good hot sauce. I could have taken shots of it (and I did). The tripa was pungent yet crispy. The fries had the same texture as the ones used in the nacho fries. Before our food came, in-house diners receive a basket of tortilla chips and salsa and their version of 'curtido' (pickly cabbage slaw). I especially liked the freshness and crunch! Service was good. The dude was super nice, although I think he missed my order of a horchata as it never made it out. I brushed it off as a sign that I didn't need an additional sweet drink with my meal :) In the end, I am glad we tried a new place. But I don't know if it is close enough to us for it to be a regular spot.
