So one of my foodies on instagram turned me on to this place. They said they have the bests tortas. They were right!! THE Best torta I have had in the Central Valley. The young lady that took my order was very helpful. They have a nice area to sit down and eat even those it's inside a chevron station. I ordered a carne Asada burrito and a carne asada torta. Both were delicious. Most bread used for a torta is soggy in about 10 seconds. The bread they used was tasty and never got soggy. Now I have to bring my daughter back so she can eat one fresh. This place gets huge ratings and I've always wanted to try it, but I was never in town. However, that changed today when I gave my brother a ride to pick up his truck from the shop in Ceres. My son, brother, and I made the trek. Located inside a Chevron gas station, it is rather concealed if you don't know the location. We were greeted by the owner and, as first timers, asked him for the rundown. He said he is known for his tortas and recommended the Torta Cubana. That is what both my brother and I ordered (with egg added). My son custom made a breakfast burrito (which the owner said was also a popular choice, served all day). We each got Horchata drinks, which are handmade using the owner's mom's recipe. The dining room has lots of clean tables, so we sat and waited with eager anticipation. Our food came promptly and included two large squeeze jars of homemade salsa (green and red) to add as topping. The high ratings are well deserved. The Cubana torta was awesome, a great combination of meats. My son barely finished his breakfast burrito and he said it was one of the best he's had. Horchatas were awesome and the salsas were excellent. The owner was super helpful and extremely friendly. You can tell he takes pride in his food and wants the customer to enjoy their experience. Now that we know how good this place is, we won't be afraid to make the drive from out of town to visit again! read more

Don't let the location fool you -- this place is incredible! Little Mexico City is tucked inside the Chevron on Mitchell, but the food tastes like it's straight out of an authentic Mexican kitchen. So happy I found this place, what a gem! Was looking for a simple bean and cheese burrito and found Little Mexico City based on their great Yelp reviews and proximity to Modesto. As others have said, don't be dissuaded by the location being in a gas station. It's very clean inside and has a sitting area with a fun TV advertising the popular dishes there (can't wait to try them all!). Nubia was very kind and helpful with great customer service. I ended up ordering a bean and cheese burrito (they grill it after making) and two street tacos (grilled/lightly fried tortillas). The bean and cheese burrito was delicious, and I enjoyed it with the cotija cheese. The chicken and pork pastor tacos were delicious and so fresh tasting, not greasy or heavy at all. I stopped by Chevron while my car was getting serviced next door and smelled something amazing. I followed my nose to the back and saw someone chowing down on a torta, instantly making me hungry. The staff member who greeted me was super friendly. After some chat, I decided to go for the chili relleno burrito, a dish I'd never tried before. The burrito came out quick, and let me tell you, it was girthy - the size of my forearm and thick thicccc. When I took that first bite, it was heaven. The rice and beans had a nice seasoning and the green chili was tender melted cheese inside. Both their red and green sauces were bomb too. Honestly, it's one of the best burritos I've ever had in the 209. I'd totally recommend trying the supreme chili relleno burrito, and next time, I'm definitely adding Carne Asada to it!!! read more

Been coming here for a few years. Heard about this place when I was working at The Hope Chest. The Carne Asada Torta and burritos are so good. Especially their homemade tortilla chips. Love Nubia and Luis, they are so nice and treat me like family. They pretty much know my order when I come in. Sometimes I'll just come in to say hi and order their homemade shakes which are also good and they make it with fresh fruits. You won't be disappointed. read more

I drove from Stockton to Ceres to check out this restaurant I found on Instagram the experience was 10 out of 10 customer service was great. I even got a free appetizer and drink when I told her how far I traveled the food came out fresh and hot. My favorite was the super burrito, Asada and the potato taquitos. We also ordered a chicken deep-fried quesadilla and a simple sope she surprised us some type of fries that had chipotle sauce on them!! to drink I had Horchata it was great my daughter got a strawberry milkshake and my cousin got a banana milkshake they were OK. An absolute hidden gem. It's so hard to find Mexican food that genuinely tastes like my families homemade Mexican food but this is the closest I've gotten to it. This is my favorite dish I have tried so far. You can't beat the price as well. It's a filling dish on its own. The rice and beans are not the absolute best I've ever had but they were good as well. The green salsa is great. I found that the paco de gallo has a bit too much pepper in it for my liking so I just ask for it on the side or without now. The service is great. The restaurant is inside a chevron so there's only so much greatness in ambiance there. They have sufficient comfortable seating. They may be tired of seeing my face because I've been there 3 times this week alone. I'm vegetarian and one suggestion is to have plant-based meat options that would really set it apart from other Mexican restaurants. read more

This is perhaps my most favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Granted I haven't been to them all, but that's where it stands so far. I'm a big fan of their nachos and I always get them with their pickled jalapeños. Prior to eating here I had never had pickled jalapeños. They add so much flavor to the nachos. Well one night I was looking at YouTube videos and happened to come across this Mexi Papas video. I happened to view the Little Mexico City Video he produced. The food looked amazing so I wanted to try it. I had my sidekick in tow (wife). This place is tucked inside a gas station. Yes, I know many of you would have turn around and left but I was committed. We walked in and the owner quickly greeted us. He was quick to offer us assistance and answer any questions. I was here for the cubano torta and the huarache. Nothing more.... The grill masters went to work on building these masterpieces. The food came out and it was time to eat. I tried the huarache first. Oh my lord. This was delicious. Made to perfection. Loved the firmness of the flat corn sope. Next was the torta. Holy moly. AMAZING! For those who fell off the yumville express while taking this ride to yumville, I told you to buckle up. The bread was soft, the fillings were perfect. I can see why there was a YouTube video done on this little hole in the wall. The question is would I come back? Heck Yeah!!!! I've literally never had a better nacho anywhere, ever, in my life. I didn't think I would like it being topped with pickled jalapeños because I don't like super hot stuff, but they are SO good, it adds just the perfect amount of spice. Good beans & cheese. We were pretty disappointed. First, don't even bother with their "tacos". No flavor, skimpy on the meat. Beef had zero seasoning and was hardly warm. The burrito wasn't much better. Beans/rice/meat just didn't have any flavor. It's like all the ingredients were cooked with no seasoning. $35 for 2 tacos and 2 burritos. Sorry, but much tastier options in town for much less.
