We ordered tacos, shrimp burrito, rice and beans, and chips and salsa. They were all great! My husband wanted rice and beans but it was $3 each in a bowl. It would've been too much food. The lady at the front accommodated and allowed us to do half and half rice and beans. I liked their rice and beans as they weren't overpowering or too salty. There were a lot of meat on tacos. Burrito was excellent too. I tried their homemade salsa. Both green and red sauces were so good. Red one was extremely spicy but I loved it. So glad we found this place. You know what I realized. I had the SF location before but I never had the urge to try the Turlock location. I tried it a long time ago but I went again recently. Honestly, their food is pretty good. I got a super burrito de pollo asado. The pollo was nicely cooked. Juicy but had a nice smokiness to it. I love how they add fresh guac to their tacos, burritos, etc. My one critique is that it's overpriced. My burrito came out to $15 or close, and their aguas frescas are over $5 but the sizes do not match with their prices... This more of a once in a while spend eatery. read more

Delicious quesadillas! Chicken was plump even when grilled. Tortillas were delicious. Avocado was ripe and creamy! Service was super helpful explaining a "regular" burrito and what it had. Drive through was relatively fast considering it is all assembled by hand. read more

The staff was very nice and everything looked clean. The food was very fresh and really good. I highly recommend the tacos super with everything. The tacos come with 2 tortillas. One is crispy and the other one is soft (good combo). Their aguas frescas were very good. We got aguas de jamaica and watermelon and they both were quite refreshing. VERY DISAPPOINTED Came here based of Tik Tok Reviews. Ordered 2 super burritos asada and had one toasted. Meat had no flavor and was not grilled enough. Salsa was spicey but had no flavor. Agua Fresca were good. Overpriced and under seasoned. Paid over $45 for 2 burritos and 2 large aguas Frescas. The old-school type taqueria just off of the I-99, that makes you feel as though you are in Mexico. Order at the counter, get a number, and get your delicious food quickly. The prices are a little high, but you pay for what you get here. The portions are large and the food is delicious. The super taco was loaded and delicious, and the carnitas super burrito was one of the best that I have ever had. The meat was moist, flavorful, and delicious, and the ratio of flavors in the burrito were top notch. Their prices have increased and they give you less. One example is the avocado. The last couple times I've noticed less avocado in my tacos and they charge almost $2 per taco. I could justify paying the prices before but not when the quantity or quality goes down. Also the service is awful. They made a mistake on my order and didn't realize until I got home. I live across town. I went back and let them know and they were unapologetic and rude. It was the big guy there. This was my first time trying La Taqueria, and I can honestly say they live up to their name! You can immediately taste the quality in their tacos -- everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Their drinks are just as amazing! My favorite mexican food spot of all time I don't have a spot that beats this place! The staff are so kind, friendly, and helpful! I love the thick chunks of carne asada either in the Quesadilla or Super Burrito the Super Taco is good also just not filling enough for me. The restaurant isn't usually packed when I go after class but sometimes they can get a crowd. The food is usually served pretty quickly but make sure that you grab some salsas from the fridge on the side! The green salsa is good and not spicy the red salsa is a bit more on the spicy side. Whatever you order make sure you do it dorado style (extra crispy)! This is my first five star yelp review by the way. Try this place out and let me know what you guys think!! read more

The food was noticeably different, so much so that we thought possibly new owners. I've been a customer to La Taqueri since the 70's and have Never had a complaint but last night the Carnitas which La Taqueria is none for were inedible, had to take back, when I asked for a replacement the cook showed me what the rest of the Carnitas looked like, not good ! The sample he shared was so dry & stringy it looked plastic . I'm hoping this was a fluke, maybe the Cook was new, the staff was definitely new, not one recognizable face.. read more

I ordered the super taco with carne asada, chips & salsa and an horchata ( they have sooo many agua frescas to choose from!) Service was friendly and fast! Everything was very fresh and not over salted, there's salt on the table if you feel it's missing. Chips were crunchy, pico de gallo was chopped super fine so props for the knife skills! The taco was fantastic! Tender, well seasoned carne asada wrapped in both a crunchy and a soft corn tortilla and loaded with sour cream, salsa and guacamole. The horchata was made from scratch as it should be! with a perfect balance of ingredients that brings me back to my childhood. All fresh, all delicious. Amazing quality every time!!!! Friendly service EVERY time! Steak (asada) is always fresh and not chewy, shredded chicken is always perfect, the real star here in my opinion is the chilli verde! So spicy in a good way and I have yet to get a hunk of fat in it. Someone spends the time here treating the ingredients correctly! The price is high at a glance....... However every item is a meal on its own. One Taco is more than enough for the average person. Loaded chips are often shared between the wife and I. This is our Go TO SPOT! Not 10 days later I had more errands in Turlock so had to get these tacos. We were underwhelmed by the hype of best tacos in the area.....they still get a 4 but next time if in the area would get an Al pastor burrito. So we got a carne asada, Al pastor, and lengua tacos. How you treat the tortilla on a taco is a critical part and most places fail at that, this place was no different as they just have tortillas that are quickly put in the grill.. what saved a lower review was the Al pastor was very good. Carne asada was not very good for our taste and my lengua was actually pretty good. They put beans and the sauces where good in the tacos so they were ok but would. It get that again here. This place has really improved. I find myself craving a burrito a lot from here. They are huge and the meat quality is really good. I've been getting the burrito Supreme with carnitas and shrimp, grilled, add rice and a side of grilled onions. Totally hits the spot and I always have some left over for later. It's run by the same family. You order at the counter. The menu is simple: taco, burrito or over chips. Lots of meat choices including lengua and cabeza. You can order it "super" or "meat only" if you're following a low-carb lifestyle. They also have vegetable only options. I ordered 2 tacos: carnitas and al pastor. Their tacos are HUGE! Big chunks of meat and loaded with beans and salsa. I got them super so that included cheese on the bottom of the taco shell, sour cream and avocado on top. Omg!! They were delicious. I would have gotten a 3rd taco but I was so full.
