Love this café almost as much as I love Oddfellows. Their avocado toast is amazing. The only thing I would change is how close together the seating is. I go here every once in awhile to study and browse books while enjoying the cafe atmosphere and lovely food. Almost every time I go the cafe is busy, filled with people studying and drawing. It's often hard to find a place to sit, but it's worth waiting a little bit to steal a table after someone leaves. The line is never too terribly long, and the food is fresh and delicious. I have ordered many things at Little Oddfellows but I always go back to my favorites, the avocado toast and the black & white cookie with the lavender early grey tea. The tea comes in a little teapot with a large mug with saucer, there's enough tea to fill up your mug about 2 1/2 times, and if you ask they'll give you more hot water. Their avocado toast is my favorite in the city, topped with fresh radishes and sprouts, and their bread is so so good! I highly recommend Little Oddfellows for a nice cafe environment. It's a cozy place to read a book or cram for some tests. read more

First of all, if you love bookstores, and cake...and coffee, and hanging with/without friends in cute coffee shops while reading a book/magazine you picked up a few aisles over, then YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE. Basically, the above describes me so I was already inclined to really really like this place and it met all of my expectations. First, the bookstore: Little Oddfellows reminds you of those old school, big bookstores, where you could pick up a book that seemed interesting and sit in the aisles reading it quietly without any pressure to actually buy the thing. You could basically sit there all day, with people milling about you, without feeling any pressure whatsoever to move. It's like a library, just...better. It smells like books, but not in the overpowering nauseating sense of old, rotting books, but of new, crisp pages waiting to be turned and stories waiting to be discovered. It's everything a bookstore should be - still big enough so there's room for everyone, but not so big that you get lost in it. Basically, it's the bookstores of yesteryear, that now barely exist. Then, the cafe: Cute, moderately quiet cafe in a bookstore, where the unpretentious baristas will make you a big cup of coffee, served with an even bigger slice of cake (my husband and I just couldn't finish our slice...it was *huge*). Honestly, I came for the rose-pistachio cake I saw someone else post on Yelp, but the day we went they had a lemon cake which was absolutely delectable. If we had more time, I would have taken a book and lazily sipped my coffee while nibbling on the cake, impervious to the world spinning around me. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time. but if I lived in Seattle, you could find me here, every Sunday, without fail. If you're in the market for a place with a barista having a bad day and ready to dump his bad juju on the customers, then look no further, you've found the place. My wife and I stopped in to check it out while we were walking around the area. Before ordering, we went to go use the restroom, and found both doors were locked, said "in use" and also a sign on each that said that the bathrooms were locked and keys were at the counter. After waiting ten or so minutes without anyone coming out, I went to the counter to see if maybe the lock and the in use part were linked together, as in, they weren't really in use. When I inquired with the barista, I got a very flippant reply to the effect that in use means in use as he continued about his business. Not sure what the coffee or food is like because we didn't bother to stick around after that. Thanks for a very unpleasant visit. read more

Great place to come get some work done. The atmosphere is really welcoming and warm. It can get very busy at certain times. I highly recommend their double chocolate vegan banana loaf and lavender earl grey. The staff is usually great and friendly, however I've often felt that they act as though your business is nuisance or as if they have something better to be doing. read more

I basically live here. Coffee is expensive, no doubt, but pretty moderately​ priced as far as other Cap Hill establishments- and really delicious​ to boot.​. The staff is so sweet, the atmosphere is so sweet (it always smells like a combo of fresh coffee and the signature papery smell of a bookstore- LOVE it!!) and I honestly hang out in here for hours at a time. I love Little Oddfellows. It's a small hidden cafe inside the Elliot Bay Bookstore. They have the best music playlist that isn't too loud while trying to study or to have a conversation with someone (I don't have to yell!). I haven't taken the time to browse the bookstore but it seems nice and well kept. The servers are extremely friendly and pretty enthusiastic. It's really close to where I work to thats also a major plus. I usually don't care for the decor at cafes, but I have to mention that I like it here. If you need a solid place to study, hangout or heck even grab lunch/ coffee/ desserts I would highly highly recommend Little Oddfellows. Definitely one of the best cafes in the area. read more

A great little spot for a beverage and snack. The drinks are tasty and creative. The treats are yummy. It's bright and white and clean, if crowded. The service is sweet. I had a hard time deciding whether to sit in the cafe or browse in the bookstore, so I did both. Spent many hours knitting and reading and just enjoying. Don't mistake odd fellow cafe for this little coffee shop. This location is a store or two down from the cafe, hidden in the back of a bookstore. It looks newly designed with a rustic vibe. There is quite a bit of seating with good lighting. Service was quick, efficient, and nice. They have a selection for food too, but I ended up getting sticking with a hazelnut latte. The consistency was on point! Not a huge fan of the flavoring though, I would probably get it without the hazelnut maybe. Perfect to sit and drink in the cafe or to take out on a cold night. They are open pretty late for a coffee shop. Seems like a great place to get work done or sit and read. It seemed like a bit of a quite place though, considering it is part of a bookstore. read more

I am a huge fan of the renovated space inside Elliot Bay Bookstore! It looks a lot more bright and alive- not just a dark corner where hipsters hide their noses in their books while sipping on black coffee. I usually take people here for quick coffee meetings and whatnot. The only downside is that you're going to have to snag a seat at odd hours to avoid doing the awkward there's-no-room-abort-mission-U-turn. May the odds ever be in your favor. read more

The food we had was good, the overall customer experience, not so much. The prices for what we ordered ranged from reasonable ($8 for a panini) to you're-kidding-me ($4 for a glass of run-of-the-mill tea). Long version: We arrived around 12:30. They were busy, but didn't look slammed. When we were ready to order, we were told to wait, while the two employees behind the counter conferred over a smartphone. We finally got to place our order, paid (panini, $8; large cookie, $3; iced tea, $4!), and were given a number and told our food would be brought to us. Time passed. After 10 - 15 minutes, I went to inquire about the tea. The cookie had been sitting on the counter, but apparently they had run out of tea and somebody had gone next door to get some. We ate the cookie. It was delicious. About 10 minutes later, the panini arrived and I asked again about the tea. The server apologized and said they had to brew some. We ate the panini, slowly. It was pretty good too. After we finished, I went searching for the tea again, and it looked like they had just finished brewing it. Having finished eating, we took it with us. It was OK, but certainly wasn't worth $4. And reviewing the credit card charge later, I discovered that they'd forgotten to charge us for it when we ordered. read more

Have gone three times so far, love their coffee punch card and that they serve caffe vita (a personal favorite). The ambience is great - located in the bookstore. It can get quite busy so go before 11 on weekends if you want to get a seat. To eat, tried their sweet and savory scones, cake slice, and baguettes and all were great. read more

Received terrible service from two super rude baristas. The one taking my order acted annoyed when I asked for food recommendations. When I ordered the avocado toast the one behind him sighed as if it was going to be a pain to make. I went to grab water but there were no more cups on the center island, so I went up the counter to ask for a cup and the 3 people working saw me but turned around and started whispering and purposely ignored me standing there. I was given a number for my order so I sat down at a table but about 10 mins later I heard them calling out for someone to pick up an avocado toast order. I had to get up and get my order even though they provided a number and could have easily walked over and handed me my food, as they were doing for everyone else. Prime example of uppity snooty baristas too good to do their jobs. read more

Lovely for tea or coffee. The pastries look delicious. But don't bother for a meal. The hummus plate is a pricey spoonful of hummus on a plate with a precious handful of crackers and a few olives. The gazpacho could have been tasty, but turned out to be oddly oily, as if someone had forgotten to stir the pot before serving. Served without even a tiny slice of bread along side. Not a fan. I bought a baguette sandwich, which was a huge disappointment. It looked good in the case, but the bagette's crust was soft, there was too much dijon mustard, and a tiny amount of turkey. Way overpriced for an $8 sandwich! The amount of turkey in the sandwich wasn't even enough to satisfy an 18-month old. The pastries might be fine, but the sandwich was WAY overpriced. read more

I want to say this is the most artistic cafe I have ever been to in Seattle. The coffee is very tasty with beautiful pattern of form milk on top. Their customers are very friendly (notice not only their staffs but the customers there). It's hidden in the book store so it might be difficult to find. I really like their white color decoration which is very clean and modern but at the same time you find it artistic! Really enjoy this brightly lit bookstore cafe - the Oddfellows dishes and homemade sodas are delicious. I like the rosemary lemonade and the bundt cake, as well as the savory avocado on soft seeded bread. Sometimes a wait because it is a great place to study or chat with people. read more

never expected i'd be writing a poor review for one of the derschang group restaurants, but my first visit to little oddfellows definitely deserves zero stars. oddfellows is my favorite restaurant on the planet, but this place falls majorly short in comparison. can't review the food as we never even got that far- we waited at the display bar for 5 minutes, watching the baristas make drinks + food. they glanced at us several times, but never acknowledged us or even nodded their heads to show they'd be right with us. we wrote it off, they're busy, we've worked customer service, it sucks, etc... but THEN a man walked up to the counter and they dropped everything to immediately help him, still completely ignoring us. we were STUNNED honestly at the complete lack of customer service skills or even basic human decency. left a very sour taste in my mouth & we walked away, empty handed, to a yummy coffee shop down the street. i highly recommend you do the same read more
