This was perfect! I needed a quick snack and their avocado toast was perfect. My date loved the cold brew (he's pretty picky with coffee so I trust that it was pretty great if he was raving about it). We got a browned butter rice krispy treat for later and it was so good. What's even better though is that this place is in the back of a bookstore so it is literally heaven to walk through walls of books, drooling at the possibilities, to end up at a good coffee shop. So often the shops in bookstores are a Starbucks or some other chain with a tiny menu. read more

I love browsing and picking out a book, getting a little pot of tea (the earl grey lavender is the best tea I've ever had) and maybe a biscuit & just enjoying a book. Today, I got my trusty Americano with a large slice of velvety lemon cake. Its a big slice. But it was my breakfast so I guess you could call it breakfast sized. Its nestled in the Elliot bay book store. So if you are a book lover or have someone who does take them here. I love the new incarnation of the Elliot Bay Café! after a short construction period, this re-opened space sports some great options for those who want to camp out for some serious lap top computing or to just chill out. The food selection has changed up too. They did away with the crepes which I kind of actually liked from the old café. Now they feature baguette sandwiches, and a bunch of baked goodies, quiche, cookies, brownies etc.. The cake option they have is always very impressive and would recommend getting whichever kind they have for that day. Bring a friend because its enough for two. There are still ample power outlets to plug into and their internet free wifi is reasonably fast. Bathrooms are key entry only and they always seem to be occupied. Great place to check out!! read more

Super cute café inside of Elliot Bay Books. So many delicious treats to choose from, and the drink menu is killer. During the fall/winter, they offer an amazing cup of hot cocoa with handemade marshmallows that get all ooey and gooey in your steaming cup. Sooo good. I'm definitely a fan. read more

A cool bookshelf wallpaper in the back, black and white menu, exposed beams, a fantastically labelled coffee fixins bar, sphere globe lights, oh, and awesome signage in the front of the bookstore. Coffee I typically get an americano. The one I got here was standard for Seattle espresso. Not as full bodied as I'd prefer but still pretty good. Drinks Other options are available. Fresh squeezed juice, lemonade, tea, Etc. Food All day they serve cheese plates and hummus plates! Great snacks for studying! They also have other delicious options before 5 like panini options and avocado toast! Yum! All in all, I was so overjoyed to have visited after seeing construction photos on Instagram. This will be my go to meeting place, studying place, INSTA-inspired place. Heading there now! read more

A cafe in a bookstore, who wouldathought? Of course, this is the Elliot Bay Bookstore we're talking about.. genius! [genius guy meme] I like how it is "open air" to the bookstore, despite the section being the food section or whatever. The seating is semi-awkward because a pew-like bench wraps around the exterior with small tables and chairs on the insides.. can make for some close quarters and border disputes. There is some other actual 'tables with borders' on the inside as well, so luck of the draw as to where you get a seat. But a fantastic place to [gasp] read! Or study, or write, or drink coffee (or booze), or eat vegan (or not) treats, or whatever! Many a hip person will be spotted, but I dare you to not see someone that's hip on Capitol Hill. One of my all time favorite coffee shops in the city. Great small bites (and desserts!), coffee, ambiance, friendly baristas, and free WiFi. There are very few places that can do it all but little oddfellows is one of them. Great place to meet up with friends or get some work done. While their coffee looks amazing, and I'm sure it is, I got hot chocolate with their homemade marshmallows which were 10/10. It was very photogenic too which is always a plus in my book. However, it was a little crowded and full of people working on their MacBooks. Seating was limiting (it was a Saturday afternoon). Got the earl grey tea which came in a cute little tea pot. This is one of my favorite cafes to get work done, and it's in a beautiful bookstore. The ambience is perfect for me, and they have great food and drinks. If you're looking to treat yourself, I highly recommend their $7 cake slices. They vary from day to day, but I really liked the banana/cream cheese and the lemon. Another nice thing about Little Oddfellows is that they sell teas by the pot. I drink a lot of tea at home, and Little Oddfellows really gives you bang for your buck. I could come here EVERYDAY. It's absolutely delicious (vegetarian friendly), everything is picture perfect and the staff is awesome. I love the pasta and deviled is eggs. Amazing place! Everything about it is perfect - great staff, great coffee and espresso, great environment for reading and working. Everything except... their Point Of Sale system. After placing my order, the typical iPad size device is spun towards me. Except not on a smooth pivoting system like I've become accustomed to. This is on a much more raw mechanism - a towel :-/ Once it makes its way around to me, I struggle to figure out how to use it... I don't remember being able to tip either (sorry for the baristas). It's time to upgrade! Please get Square for the sake of your customers, baristas and management. Life's too short to use poorly performing products that add stress to our lives. Please bring back the delicious vegan cookies and other options! I'm missing them. This is a nice cafe to hang out and do work, but I hate fighting for a table. The internet also NEVER works, and it's much slower to use a phone hotspot (which is what I'm stuck doing 9 out of 10 times that I come here). I saw a little mouse last night, go in between the cooler and run underneath it. I pointed it out to the young Barista and he just shrugged it off. Another customer saw the mouse and told him as well. He said there's mice in this old building and he wasn't paid enough to go catch it. I know this is a popular cafe. But they do leave out the pastries out in the open with no cover, when they are open. read more

HANDS DOWN my favorite cafe/study spot in Seattle. My friends and I went 2 days in a row last week because we loved it so much. I have only tried a hot chocolate, tea, and brownie, so I can't comment too much on the food, though what I had was great. However, I cannot say enough good things about the atmosphere. It's warm, cozy, quiet, relaxing and adorable. Whoever decorated this place is a genius! It's got this outdoor cafe/vintage feel. They use cute mis-matched China. Sweet music that's at just the right volume. Plenty of outlets. Attached to a sweet bookstore. Open until fairly late. It doesn't really get any better. Another plus, there's this really cool guy who works there (didn't get his name, but he's a tall guy with a beard and hat) who is really nice and very humorous. Give it a try! read more

I love this cafe. It used to be a cafe connected to Elliot's Bookstore but now it is branded little oddfellows and it's such a great place to grab a snack, get good coffee (they serve cafe vita) and do some work. It's in the back of Elliot Bay Bookstore so don't be alarmed if you come to the address and you don't see the coffee shop outside. I'd say 80% of the people there are doing work and 20% are actually people meeting up for coffee. They serve $2 cookies (get the little oddfellows), real food (baguette sandwiches...etc), healthy food (quinoa salads, avocado toast...etc. and even cheese plates!). They also have all sorts of beverages and teas, and they even have homemade chai (though at $4, I think it's a little overpriced for the portion). They also have a $3.75 all you can drink coffee option...that's a lot of coffee in one sitting to get your money's worth but hey, if you're one of those drinkers, great deal for you :) Everything else is decently priced, nice service, bathrooms accessible, away from street noise. Love the ambiance. A favorite in my book! It's in CapHill so good luck finding 2 hr parking. No nearby lots... read more

I am a sucker for sweet little cafes in bookstores. I ordered a macchiato and a lemon Rosemary soda and they were both superb. Baristas were friendly, and the space is beautiful and clean. This is my go-to cafe whenever I'm boppin' around Capitol Hill. I LOVE the espresso (and the mint green, vintage cup which serves as it's vessel) and the pastries are always good. I love the poppy seed cookie and the cookie with chocolate, walnuts AND butterscotch/caramel! BOOM! Or if you need something more filling, the savory muffin with hard boiled egg inside is for you - such a good idea! This is a busy cafe, especially on the weekends, but I always seem to find a comfortable spot to sit and work on my art. There are lots of outlets for charging your devices as well. The only nugget of constructive criticism I have for you, Little Oddfellows, is to work on the Hipster Service thing (excluding that one fabulous guy with the glitter nails.) It takes a minimal amount of effort to just... smile. Even if it's fake and you really ARE aloof and aligned with a certain la-de-da persona and maybe listen to Kraut Rock for real... do it because you're on the clock and it's your job not your personal life! One of my top three favorite cafes in Seattle. Tucked away in The Elliot Bay Bookstore, Little Oddfellows has coffee, tea, and wine/beer options. The also have an array of gluten free and regular pastries. My favorites are the chocolate chip sea salt cookie, biscuit and jam or vegan brownie. If you plan to hang for a while, get the everlasting mug of coffee ($3.25 for unlimited free refills). This place can get crowded during the weekends. Best times to go are weekdays or early Sunday morning. Hours are the same as the Bookstore. read more

Great coffee shop right in the middle of the Elliott Bay Book Company (which for me could be a whole-day's destination on its own). Lots of coffee beverages and teas and baked goods..... as well as a couple of sandwiches and salads. I had a turkey sandwich on a mini-baguette and it was tasty with the addition of dill, but the bread was a teeny bit on the stale side. The best part for me were the house-made sodas..... super yummy flavors like cranberry-ginger.... and lemon-rosemary..... and sweet blackberry.... are mixed immediately upon ordering and are as tasty and refreshing as could possibly be imagined. And, they give a free refill. WiFi..... comfy seating..... and being surrounded by books. Fantastic! read more

We live in the neighborhood and love coming to the bookstore and getting a treat for the kids in this cafe. But lately the staff/baristas there are so rude (e.g. rolling eyes, no please/thanks, not providing help when asked, annoyance when questions are asked) and it's super unwelcoming. For example, today they were annoyed when I mentioned they were out of cup lids and water; when I asked for a small cup for my daughter they gave me a glass of dirty water without making eye contact and turned away without a word. Maybe it's because I come with toddlers, but some basic courtesy would be nice. The space is super hip and cute, don't get me wrong. But I'm over it. Also a cup of tea is $4.50 + tax? There are so many better cafes nearby worth exploring. read more

Within the store! Very clean and also very white. Obligingly allowed my jasmine/ginger/green tea mix dreams to come to fruition. The laptop users dominated seating, claiming a two-top cafe table for each. Like, the entire perimeter of the cafe. I'm writing this review on what is probably my 20th visit to Little Oddfellows. Two things I don't like about this place: 1. The employees are too cool for school. Serving customers appears to be an inconvenience for them. 2. This place is filthy. So much so that I always get my drinks in to-go cups because I've had so many lipstick-stained mugs and leftover who knows what on my saucers. But this coffee shop, tucked into the back of Elliot Bay Bookshop, earns major points for location. There's also plenty of seating, though it gets busy so expect to wait for a table if you're going during peak hours. read more

The everlasting coffee is made for my existence. So if I could give this 6-stars then I would. This is a great place to do work, read books, hide from people, treat yourself to a light lunch, sit on the internet, etc. I will definitely be back soon because they have some excellent women-writer mugs.
