It is a bit old-fashioned in that instead of an individual hot pot for each seat, it offers one stove per table and up to two different broths for the pot. Also, aside from the proteins which you need to order through the wait staff, we get to grab the rest of the side ingredients ourselves, unlike at more modern hot pot places which must be explicitly ordered. In this way, I can take just one piece of calamari and one slice of winter melon, grab more if I like it without troubling anyone, just like at a regular AYCE buffet.
