I came here to try out the new noodle shop and it was just OK to me. It was not all that amazing. The staff: They asked us if we were ready to order and kept rushing us when it was our first time being here and we literally sat down for 5 minutes. Later on some good staff members came by and suggested some menu items and told us which ones were too spicy and etc. Popcorn chicken: I feel like this did not have enough flavor and it just didn't have that crisp popcorn chicken taste. This dish definitely needs more work and taste. Golden Hot and Sour Rice Noodle Soup: This actually had some good flavors and was appetizing to me. The only thing is that the portion is too small such as it did not have enough noodles to fill me up. I guess I should have gotten the extra noodles for myself. Shi Miaodao Famous: According to one of my daughters, this one was not that tasty at all. It could have tasted a lot better with more effort in it. Overall: The price just isn't worth the portion of the food. They need to have staff members that ask if this is your first time here and then assist them. I got their R9 (Golden Hot and Sour Rice Noodle Soup) and I realized that this could be a booming restaurant sans covid. I wish that I could have dined in for this experience; the idea was to have separate side dishes and combine them into the soup if you liked. The takeout R9 was somewhat disappointing because of the limited packaging, but I still enjoyed the food nonetheless. Since my experience is takeout, I will rate based on that. When I opened the box, I realized it was MULTI-LAYERED. HOW COOL IS THAT? After you open the lid, there's a smaller container of noodles which you remove to unveil the soup! The restaurant placed all the side dishes inside the soup (i.e. quail egg, beef, chicken wing, tofu, etc) and honestly, the dish became more of a treasure chest than it was food. I took my time with the noodles, taking as much or as little as I wanted to place inside the never-ending soup. When I dug out noodles, I also uncovered some side dishes, and my friends and I had a great deal of fun comparing what we got! I ended up with so much soup that I will be using tomorrow for lunch LOL. I will also say that their noodles are great. We phoned in our order, and the order was ready in 20 minutes, but we arrived 40 minutes later. The food was still really hot afterward when we got back to the apartment, and the noodles weren't soggy at all. The popcorn chicken lacked in heat (probably our fault) and serving size (could be due to the constraints of the container) but nonetheless was tasty. I would rate this place a 9.5/10 because I really want to come back when indoor dining is allowed. The experience would be so amazing! As we park right in front of the restaurant, I look up at the signage..."Crossing the Bridge". I thought it was such an odd name for a Chinese restaurant. Not odd, mom, my "Quiz Bowl Player" son said. There's actually a story behind it. The name comes from a famous legendary love story from Yunnan, China. The young gentleman was said to go across the bridge to an island to study for his exams. His lady wanted him to have a nourishing hot meal so he could study better. She would bring all the ingredients separately to him to keep things fresh and assemble the meals when she reached him so everything was hot. He credits his passing of his exams to his loving companion. This story has passed through generations and have become a story of endearment and an expression of love. I was "wowed" by the cute presentation of these noodles. You can either do it yourself or they will happily put the ingredients in the hot bowl for you. Let me warn you...the boiling bowls are hot, it cooks the stuff right away. Some of the little things in the dishes that I enjoyed were the pork fat, quail egg, fish cakes and lettuce. My noodle bowl consisted of a chicken drumstick, my son had beef and chicken wings. My son and I also had their Brown Sugar Milk Tea...we enjoyed it very much. It has been a long time coming, it finally opened its door after displaying its tantalizing name and signs out front for the last few months. We finally tasted the unique rice noodle today. It was..okay. We love exotic cuisines, and this type of rice noodle I heard is one of the most popular and unique in the land of China but you can't really find them around here. So here we are. Overall, the price was good, averaged about $11 per bowl of noodle. The portion is plenty full with choices of meat chunks. The freshness ain't bad either, the soup is served burning hot on a ceramic bowl, make sure you don't touch the bowl with your lips or hands, you will be burned. Most of the customers are Asian here, so they all know this rule of thumb. The servers were very nice, and cautious you about the high temperature and instruct you how to prepare your bowl of noodle soup. They can also do it for you if you ask them. Traditionally, the constituents of the soup are served separately from the hot broth on a segregated plate, and you drop in the items (like veggies, small slices of meat, etc) you like into the broth whenever you like, in whatever sequence you choose. You also have the choice of having all the constituents cooked and prepared in the kitchen, just inform the waiter that. We weren't keen on tasting fiery spices, so we ordered 4 different noodle flavors without any peppery spice in them (the noodle selections on the menu are labeled with red bell peppers to inform you of the spicy level). Perhaps that is part of the reason we think our noodles came out a bit bland and lacking flavor, you can only taste the broth. We ordered R4, R6, R9, R14. Each of them differ by their broth flavor and primary meat. R4 was the fish noodle soup, which in my opinion is the best of them all. The fish meat is very tender and relatively more flavorful than the rest. I wasn't too thrilled about the rest of the selections, they are simply okay. The noodles are your average rice noodles, same ones you find in Noodle's Time. The add-on sides were plentiful but have very weak flavor, and don't contribute much to the overall aroma of the broth. If you like spicy noodle soups, perhaps it would be a different experience, but strip that spice off, we didn't quite enjoy the taste as much as we would like. To be fair, I gave it a 4-star, because the place is clean, and waiters were nice, and the wait was acceptable. A heads up, the tomato broth based rice noodle soup has the appearance of red pepper oil, so don't be fooled by the look of it, it is not spicy at all. read more

Great place to eat on a cold day in the winter. My wife and I enjoy going to this place to have a hot bowl of rice noodle. The noodle is so hot that it is the only place that I have to take precaution when I swallow the food or it is going to burn my tongue but the noodle is very tasty. I especially like the Szechuan pepper fish rice noodle. It numbs your tongue a bit but that is the way I like it. Definitely will go back next time I am in the neighborhood. read more
