    Pepperoni, sausage & bacon pizza

We were looking for a place to try some good NY style on the way home from church today and found Little Ray's on the NE corner of 59th Ave and the 101. They serve slices every day, par-baked cheese and can then add any other toppings. From 11a-4p daily, they have a lunch special: 2 slices + drink for $8.65, with extra toppings $0.75 each. That's a pretty ballpark price for good NY slices, from what I've seen around the Valley (we were just at Buono's WF last Friday and the same special was $8.99). They add Sicilian slices to this repertoire on Fridays, with new pies going into the oven around 11am and 3pm. When assessing a new place, I like to start with a good baseline, a plain cheese slice. And Little Ray's did not disappoint. They make their dough and sauce in-house daily. Their NY style is a thin, light crust with a nice crunch, especially on the back end. Good cook on the crust, too; the undercarriage held up well and although it had a little bit of flop, it wasn't too bad and was very fold-friendly. Great ratio of cheese to sauce, which to us had just the right level of sweetness. I got photos of everything but the flop; sorry, will make a note for next time. My second slice was pepperoni. Although I prefer pepperoni cups, this was good, too, and as you can see from the photos, there was PLENTY of it. My last slice was pepperoni, sausage and bacon. I thought the sausage had plenty of flavor yet was not fatty. My wife had 2 slices of Hawaiian, which she loved. Our server, Matt, was very friendly and attentive. Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Little Ray's and have added it to our west side short list when we want some quick and delicious NY slices!

The menu is big and includes appetizers, pizzas, and warm plates. The food is delicious and served in abundance (expect leftovers!) We have tried their pizzas (perfect thin crust that holds toppings in place - no floppy pizza here!), fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and cheesy tortellini so far. Absolutely amazing food and service! Three tv's play in the seating area, which is nice and clean. Bathrooms are clean, too. We expect to become regulars here.

Pizza is some of the best I've had! Love a good NY slice. Staff was very nice as well. Highly recommend!

My husband and I love trying new pizza spots so I was excited to see this place open not super far from us! We called in our order, a large half cheese half jalapeño pizza with cheesy garlic bread. It was ready right on time and pickup was easy! We wished there was a little more cheese burn on the cheesy garlic bread but it wasn't bad at all! The pizza was big and pretty tasty! Only complaint was that the crust was a little floppier than we like but it was still delicious! Sauce had a little spice to it which we enjoyed! Glad we tried it!

A MUST if you are a pizza lover. I have been here twice in the past week and we live up near Cave Creek. Worth the drive. Today we had the Monster Pizza and it was mouth watering. Just look at the pictures. Next time we are coming for the Italian food, stuffed shells are made daily and I hear the fettuccine Alfredo is to die for.

Little Rays Pizzeria was just delicious! We ordered the gnocchi , meatballs, pizza, and Caesar salad--everything was a perfect 10 out of 10. The service was absolutely amazing, and everyone there was super welcoming. We even spilled a drink, and they immediately ran over to help us clean up. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town!

Came to Lil Rays after working at the adjacent EOS. I was pleased to see that they offered pizza by the slice. I decided to get 2 slices to go. The pizza was served on a plate, wrapped in a bag. I stupidly put it on my lap, grease seeped through the bag everywhere. It was a bit of a turn off. Pizza was fair, I'd maybe try something else if I come back.

    Medium cheese. Ordered default.

Zipps Sports Grill has been on my list for a little while. One, because they have a bunch of…read morelocations in Phoenix so I see them all the time while I'm driving. And two, because they got busted on ICE which led to quite a bit of coverage online and on the local news. I stopped by their location in Peoria on a Saturday afternoon. I had no trouble finding free parking in the large lot that surrounds the entertainment complex. Ambiance (3/5): Pretty much your typical sports bar. Nothing stands out but also, nothing is bad. It's spacious. Plenty of seating. Full bar. Plenty of TVs. I sat at the square bar. Service (4/5): Prompt, friendly service. I only stayed for a beer, but it was a smooth experience. No complaints. Food (N/A): I did not have any food on this visit. My companion said that her chips and salsa wasn't very good though. Probably typical bar fare. Seems like more of a spot where you go for drinks, though they do have a full menu. Drinks (3.5/5): I was in the mood for a beer and ended up with a beer with a twist. They have two different sizes, I went with the smaller version because we were in a time crunch. Here's the twist: you can add a frozen margarita topper to your beer. Pretty interesting idea, though it didn't really taste good or add much to the beer. More of a novel concept than anything else. I think the better play is the reverse: they also have Corona-ritas, basically a marg with a full beer on top. That's a favorite drink of mine and truly the gift that keeps on giving. You drink some, and then your glass magically refills. It's a beautiful thing. I wouldn't run back to go to Zipp's, but if I'm trying to watch some sports, and it's convenient, I'd return. I'm curious to try their food, too.

We then moved to the bar side, where my husband and I both ordered the chicken sandwich. His was incredibly hard, but he was hungry and ate it anyway. His fries were not edible. Mine was so tough that it felt like cement. I tried a small bite first and noticed it was difficult to chew, so I took another bite and almost broke my front tooth. That's how hard the sandwich was! The fries had a really unpleasant greasy taste, almost like they never change the oil. The onion rings were also lacking in seasoning and were soggy. Overall, the experience was disappointing. However, our waitress, Antoinette was super nice, she's the only reason for the star.
