Barry came to my home and stated that he could fix several items and quoted me a low ball figure based on those items. Once he arrived, he wasn't able to repair a hole in my ceiling like proposed, wasn't able to change my light switch as proposed and nearly left completely without finishing the adjustment to my cabinets. We completely removed painting some cabinets from his scope of work and even after not having to complete the list of originally proposed items, he stated "I don't change my estimates" and charged the initial price. He wasn't flexible and demanded payment for work he didn't complete. He stated "the wall painting job took longer than expected and my rates went up which I didn't charge you..." My thought was, you made the quote so please don't come back and say the job took longer than expected and expect me to compensate you. It felt like he overestimated his ability to complete some tasks and low balled his figures to get the job and did the bare minimum once he came to perform the work. I wouldn't even give him a one star. He failed on painting my bathroom and kitchen. He dry-brushed the whole job. The paint is on so thin you can see the white primer through the finish coat. I requested he smooth out a couple small areas near the mirror in the bathroom, nope not one stroke of sanding, he painted right over them. For his high bid I trusted he would at least do what was ask of him. I couldn't believe it when I went into the kitchen and saw the ceiling wasn't painted and the same was true in the bathroom. I called and ask him to please come back and complete the job and he told me the ceilings weren't included. I said please read the contract that he had written and that I had agreed to. After he looked at his contact he agreed to come back and fix things. That was a mistake he did even worse after that. I went ahead and paid him just to get him off my property. He is not a real contractor? Furthermore if he or anyone disputes my negative rating of his workmanship I have the proof in my kitchen and bathroom and will let anyone that would care to, come take a look? Barry is a great guy and who is knowledgeable, prompt, gracious, and highly skilled about many kinds of home repair.
