Everything about this place is YUM! My wife and I are picky about certain foods. Pho and Pad Thai are at the top of the list. They nailed it here. Pad thai was super full of flavor with plenty of sauce, and the veggie pho was out of this world. It was probably the best I have ever had (and I have had a lot). I was staying in Lewiston/Auburn for a work trip and was craving for some Vietnamese food. Found this place on Yelp and saw all the positive reviews about this place so I decided to drive 40 mins to here. When I arrived, it wasn't too busy for a Wednesday evening. I ordered the house pho, pork chop rice plate, Vietnamese crepe and a iced Vietnamese coffee. I'm from Boston so we have a ton of Vietnamese restaurants. The crepe was pretty good. It had a ton of flavors. I am Vietnamese and the pho here wasn't that good. You can smell the herbs but the broth had no flavor. Even with the hoisin sauce, it didn't make a difference. The pork chop plate was delicious though. The pork chop had a wonderful lemon grass flavored to it. Make sure to add an egg with this plate! The service was so bad! On the menu, they had listed Banh coun as Vietnamese crepe, which can also be Banh xeo (yellow crispy crepe/taco look alike) so I asked the waitress if it was Banh xeo. She replied back with an attitude and said no, Banh coun! When my food came out, I was missing my utensils, I only had a chopstick up my napkin which I used only for my pho. I had a pork chop plate in which the pork chop needed a knife to cut it and a spoon to eat the rice with. So I asked my waitress for a spoon and knife for the rice place. It took her almost a whole 10 mins to grab them for me, the place wasn't even busy and should of been a 1 minute thing. At this time, my fricken food was cool down and she only handed me a spoon when I had asked for a spoon and knife. At this point I was starving so I just used my spoon. My original plan was to eat and then order their desserts afterwards. I was in the middle of eating my meal, the same waitress dropped off my check and left. I wasn't even finish yet and I had plans to get a dessert. I gave up and just finished my meal and paid. The bad service made me so angry that I am only given this place a 2 stars. I don't always trust Maine for asian cuisine - specifically because Maine is home to some of the worst Chinese food and most mediocre Thai food I've ever had - but Little Saigon was a surprisingly solid choice. Nicely priced, everything basic you might desire on the menu and everything I tried was great. Spring rolls, Vegetable Mien (not too much cilantro which I, a cilantro hater appreciated), and the chicken bu'n - all of which were satisfying and fresh. I live in Brunswick and have eaten several times. The food is very good but the service can be rude, very rude. Last night I picked up takeout and the women who handed me the bag and processed the card was insisting I leave a tip as I was writing the card slip, pointing insistingly with her index finger on the card slip - it's takeout - I know the pandemics been hard , but it's hard for everybody and no service was rendered. I brought my family to Little Saigon for dinner this evening. As we came in through the door you have a wall with a counter in front of you. The wall pretty much blocks the view of the restaurant and as such blocks anyone's view of you. After standing waiting for five or so minutes someone came to seat us. Menus were given, water was poured and the wait began. We sat for a good 15-20 minutes before our order was taken. We chose potstickers appetizer which was really good. It was served on a bed of iceberg lettuce with a side of pickled dicon radish and carrot. Very tasty. Our entrees were house pho, pork fried rice and a wonton soup. I don't know if the waitress was having a bad day or what but I had to ask about the basil and sprouts that usually come with pho and was absent with mine. To further accentuate the terrible service I was given the check before we had even finished our meal. That pissed me off. Food was ok. Pho broth wasn't up to par. Missing some flavor. Rest of food was ok. Would next time re evaluate the eating options in Brunswick before returning. read more

Started with some delicious pot stickers (the special of the day) and then had the pad thai (I heard it was good), the roasted pork fried rice (very good) and the Little Saigon Bun. I've been looking for a decent pho restaurant in the area and I'm happy we found Little Saigon. The restaurant is clean and has a good relaxed atmosphere. They were surprisingly not busy for a Saturday dinner. The staff was friendly and treated us well. We started with some fresh spring rolls and they were good. I wasn't too partial to the peanut sauce, as it didn't taste like it was made in house. We also tried their special, homemade potstickers. We tried them steamed and were a little underwhelmed with the flavor. The wrappers fell apart (steamed too long), and the flavor was a little bland. Strangely, onion was added, which isn't usually found in dumplings. Moving to the main course, I had the house pho. It was your usual greatness that you'll find at most Vietnamese Pho restaurants. Great flavor and good noodles. Personally, a little disappointed with how little noodles and meat it came with since I ordered a large. Oh well. I'll definitely be coming back here for my pho fix, even though I live more than 30 minutes away in Lewiston. read more

This little Vietnamese restaurant is right down town. It is quiet and cozy place was just what I was looking for. The service was polite but a bit lacking. We went during late afternoon and everyone seemed to be setting up for dinner and weren't very attentive. The food was good. The appetizer platter was yummy. The meatballs were grilled perfection. The shrimp were juicy and exploding with freshness. The egg rolls were crunchy and filling. The rice crepes were not something I would order again. It's a texture things. They are soft and mushy exteriors. I ordered the house pho, which was just the thing was a cold day when I was feeling under the weather. The broth was the effect temperature. It was served with all the fixings and sauces. I liked mine slightly spicy. It was delightful. The large portion was huge. I could hardly finish half. So I got lunch for the next day. read more

The lady at the front was grumpy and refused to provide any services at all other than taking the order. Traveling nearby for work i happened upon this cozy pho restaurant. When you walk in there's a wall that separates the restaurant into smaller nooks where you can hear people on the other side of the restaurant but can't see them. I got the rare steak pho and the tofu spring rolls. Both were delicious. My only regret is that I got a small pho instead of a large. The only small things that only slightly bothered me was that the waitress came off as kinda cold and couldn't really see me, because of the way the room was divided. Dan and I went here today after a very long day of car repairs in the rain and wanted to warm up! We got the Volcano bowl to share and something was off about it. It had a very different taste. We couldn't quite put our finger on it but something was off. We got fresh spring rolls to start with and they are my all time favorite. We got them with shrimp and they were good. Kind of a hard thing to mess up! So they were tasty. My husband and I both got the seafood noodle bowl. I got mine with rice noodles and he had the normal egg noodles. We love noodle bowls so we were very excited about them. The seafood was good, however the shrimp comes with the tail still on them, making it a little messy to eat. The crab was imitation which I can't even eat. Growing up in a lobster boat I can't even stomach it. The meatballs and seafood cakes I couldn't even eat. I normally don't in many cases, I gave them to my husband! The place itself is very small and cozy. But they layout is a little funky. The service was a little disappointing. There was only one person serving when we got there and at several times we had to wait longer than normal. It took us almost 10 minutes to get our check after we asked for it. The waitress was not talkative at all and she barely checked in on us during our meal. Today happened to be very rainy and cold and they had the door open during our whole meal and sat us in the front, made for a chilly meal! I would recommend this place solely on the food. This little gem is nestled at the end of the street downtown, right near an Indian place and an Italian place with a little neon sign in the window announcing Phó. We have officially become regulars as the waitress (always have had the same one) asks, "The House Bún?" To which my reply is adamantly, "Yes!" The House Bún (pronounced Boon) is to die for!!! Yummmmm! It's generous on the meat (4 kinds in the house version) and it's always fresh and perfect when I'm hungry but don't want to leave feeling weighed down. Hubs and I have easily declared it one of the best places we've ever gotten Bún, if not the best. We also love their fresh veggie spring rolls with shrimp and peanut dipping sauce. & hubs dies over the house egg rolls. I keep thinking I'll try something else, but then if it aint broke...why fix it? The ambiance is always pleasant - usually quiet and quaint. The waitress is attentive but not intrusive and we love this little spot for an evening out. Even our toddler regularly asks about going there! Have been eating in the restaurant for years. Owner Vai remembers just how I like my House Bun perfectly every time and even addresses minimizing sodium for me! Recently we have been enjoying safe takeout from them and they do a wonderful job setting things up beautifully for a meal at home- they even bag the veggies separate from broth for soups so you add fresh. My husband spent time going through the Gluten Free and cross-contamination issues as to why we couldn't order fried things - then he ordered fresh spring rolls but then we got, and were charged for, Little Saigon Rolls. They were also put into the Bun we ordered. We're in another town and couldn't just pop back to correct the order. He had carefully told the woman that we could not have gluten. It was a disappointing event. The pho broth was aromatic but that didn't extend to the flavor - which was bland. Pho usually comes with a variety of herbs but we got mostly basil and some super strong onions. We may order again as there are few good Vietnamese restaurants nearby but will have to make sure that they understand the GF aspect. read more

Nice little restaurant. The menu has an variety of items. In fact it took me a good ten minutes to decide. I narrowed my choice between Pad Thai, a brisket dish and egg noodle soup. That's right I said brisket. Not something you would expect on the menu. I decided on the soup. Speaking of the menu, it also includes how to pronounce the menu items. For example "pho" is pronounced "fuh". A nice touch. My soup arrived in a very large bowl. I think it measured 10" across. At first glance you wonder if you can even eat that much soup. But somehow the bowl had just enough in it. The soup includes delicious roast pork and shrimp as well as dumplings and bok choy. You can't go wrong with that. My wife Zelda enjoyed the Vegetable Bun (noodle salad) which includes a spring roll. She said it was very delicious. We also enjoyed the special of the day, pot stickers. Be sure to nibble on the garnish which is pickled carrots and daikon radishes. One serving includes six, enough for two people. When we arrived at 8pm, the restaurant was quiet. The decor is very calming and relaxing. And the waitress, though quiet, was patient and friendly. I do look forward to trying that brisket. One other observation; none of the menu items mention anything about being spicy hot. This is my first time in a Vietnamese restaurant, or a noodle restaurant, so I don't know if that is normal. But they did have a bottle of sriracha sauce at the table. So if you are in the area, by all means I encourage you to check it out. read more

For the food, I only can give 3 star. The food just like Vietnamese food. nothing special. The service was terrible! Out of bean sprouts, also do not give any vegetables to instead it! I lived in California for 34.5 years of my 35 years of living. I just moved to Maine in August. I miss asian foods. Living in Garden Grove, CA for 7 years I was in Vietnam heaven. The closest Vietnamese restaurant near me is Little Saigon. I have to say that the Pho is not bad at all. I would prefer that the broth be a little bit more flavorful, but it's not a big deal. I also wish that this restaurant introduced people to Bánh Xèo along with Com Tam, Cha Trung, Korean BBQ Ribs, etc. Would I go back: I have been back several times. I wanted some pho and that is exactly what I got. This was my third time at Little Saigon and each of the experiences I have had here have had its own special charm. The first time I went, there was a man who looked exactly like George Bush. The second time I went I remember enjoying myself but no celebrity look-a-likes. Today, I went with my friends and it was delightful. I got spring rolls and they were really an incredible texture. Then the waitress brought me veggie pho (because I ordered it). It was so good! Very flavorful. I got a small and it was big. I cannot imagine what type of lunatic would order a large for themself but they could get it for sharing. My friend got the house pho and my other friend got pork fried rice. Everyone enjoyed it but we agreed that we had to wait a long time to be seated which could be upsetting for customers depending on their temperament. This is the best pho restaurant in Maine! With a modern and cozy atmosphere, you will feel right at home. The waitress is very friendly and always remembers me. The spring rolls, papaya salad and rare beef pho are my personal favorites but you'd be happy with anything from their menu. They also have creative cocktails that are delicious. Tonight was my second visit to this cute little restaurant on Maine street. Tonight I ordered the seafood rice plate and my fiancée ordered the chicken pho. I tried to tell him that their portions were huge and a large would be bigger than his head. He ordered it anyways and let's just say the left overs will be my lunch tomorrow. Both of us enjoyed our meals. He used the word stellar to describe them. :) The sauce they used on my meal was heavenly and all the seafood was cook perfectly. Alright a place to cure my Pho craving! As you walk in you are greeted immediately. The ambience is amazing. Nice decoration, great background music and your choice to sit inside or outside. The servers are really nice. Now the Pho was very hot and tasty. It doesn't compare to Pho Bistro back home but it's broth is close. Their meatballs are supersized and large. I can't belived I ordered an extra side order of it. But hey the more the better lol. I did have their fresh spring rolls.I didn't really like it. I guess because it was made with chicken. I took my mom here for her first ever Vietnamese experience at lunch time on a Tuesday. We both got the House Bun, which was excellent, although the rice noodles were slightly overcooked. The grilled meats were great and I would definitely order again. We shared the grilled calamari to start and it was pretty much perfect with an excellent dipping sauce. I like that they grill the squid whole and slice it up on the plate so you can see you are getting an entire squid. It was pretty large, also. I treated myself to a mai tai which was also excellent. I was pleased to discover that this restaurant has opened up since my last visit to Brunswick...and it serves pho, one of my favorite foods! But none of us in our party of four tried the pho...instead we had the Mien (seafood soup with glass noodles), the Bun, a chicken dish, and some appetizers (spring roles, as well as a rice noodle crepe). The crepe was interesting and different...it tasted more like the sort of thing I'd get with Cantonese dim sum, although it definitely had the fresh herby aesthetic of Vietnamese food (served on a bed of bean sprouts). The Mien soup was good, although I would have preferred more actual whole seafood and less processed food--it was heavy on the fish balls and fake crab meat. I would have preferred none of this stuff, and instead a bit more shrimp, or possibly add clams or fresh fish. I'd prefer less fish and real fish, instead of the reconstituted seafood-based products. The Bun was also good, as was the chicken. They were very generous with the portions of meat, which normally I am not a fan of, but I found it welcome at this time of year, when I get hungrier than normal, and with Vietnamese cuisine, which tends to be on the light side. I would definitely come back here. It was not mind-blowingly amazing, but it was soldly good food with very generous portions, for reasonable prices. Service was also excellent and the ambiance was very pleasant. It's a small space but it's arranged in manner that makes it seem both cozy and spacious (nice windows looking out the front), and I also like how they've carefully placed sound-absorbent materials on the wall--keeping it pleasantly quiet. I think I would come here regularly if I lived in town. For five stars, the comments on the seafood above, and I wish they had other hot sauces, like the chunky, unsweetened sambal oelek, a more traditional hot sauce, or hot oil, rather than just sriracha (sriracha, to me, tastes too much like ketchup, it's too sweet and not hot enough). Also, in general, I think I'd appreciate more fresh herbs...I know it's New England, but what attracts me to Vietnamese cuisine are the bold, fresh, bitter herbs they use--and this place used them, but it could have used more in my opinion. read more
