My husband is obsessed with Veranda Thai's pad Thai and Tom Yum soup. We usually go to the Portland location which is always good. Last night we needed to grab something later (8 pm) and NOTHING was open on a Sunday night but Veranda Thai! I didn't even know there was a Westbrook location and my husband calls them up on speed dial! I grabbed a larb gai salad. It was expensive ($19.44) but was full to the top. I will get 2 meals out of it. Lots of chicken and thinly sliced cabbage and basil. My only complaint was WAY too much dressing! Below the top third, it was swimming in dressing. The dressing was very tasty, but too much makes the lettuce super soggy. This salad at Portland usually has less dressing. Great location with lots of parking on Main St. Hubby says he often comes to this location as easier to get in and out of and less of a wait than the Portland one. Same great food!

*Rating based just on food/online ordering* I didn't get the full experience. My sister brought me home my takeout for me, and I just ordered online. Never left the house and have never been inside the restaurant. Since I ordered online, I can't review customer service either. Online was easy to get around and they did have some pictures throughout of each dish. The only thing I can say is the poratations are generous and prices are really reasonable. The chicken they added in was nice big multiple piece in both. The food was good and I would order it again.

Verand Kitchen and Bar is a nice little Vietnamese restaurant on the edge of central Westbrook. It's got plenty of parking and seating enough for several dining groups. Their menu offers the standard variety of Vietnamese restaurants -- rice dishes, noodle dishes, appetizers, and pho. I always order the standard Vermicelli noodle with grilled protein. I chose pork and sugarcane shrimp this time. Food came out in about 15 minutes of serving and the staff were quite attentive. Another in our group had ordered the regular Pho which actually looked quite good -- rare and solid in flavor. Mine also met expectations, although I didn't enjoy the sugarcane shrimp much. I don't know why but I always thought sugarcane shrimp was grilled shrimp on a sugarcane slice kabob, but alas it was more like a ground shrimp stick. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and craving some Vietnamese!

I pass by here all the time. Recently it was suggested by my best friend. What a pleasant surprise! It was delicious! Their chicken satay on skewers are so good. Perfectly cooked . There beef sticks, yum! Their noodle bowls are huge and they are wow in flavor! I have had both the duck and pork and shrimp! I look forward to dining with them again

Ordered blue ocean. Menu says "Jumbo shrimp, scallop, mussels, calamari sautéed with combo of veggie in ginger sauce", but there was no mussels... Flavor was okay, not great.

    Platter for two. 10/10 recommend.

Good food, good portions, good price. Service is fast and friendly. Best Thai food I've had in Maine!

I've been here dine-in for lunch several times and take-out for dinner many times. Never had a bad experience. Today I had the green curry and it was well done, spiced just as I asked and it hit the spot. Reasonably priced. I'm glad to have them in our downtown. Good ambiance and I like the deck on a nice afternoon. Our server today was friendly and attentive.

This is my go to place for amazing soup, I crave the wonton noodle soup and duck soup. The fried rice is the best too.

The amount of meat you get really makes the banh mi taste so yummy. Sooo worth the money. I crave this all the time. The pho was okay in my opinion but WOOW their banh mi is the star. Fresh veggies. Pho had a great amount of noodles as well. Service was great, provided recommendations. There's a few real authentic vietnamese dish here. I felt soo happy seeing them on the menu. They rearranged the configuration to make space for more tables, and an easier to access bathroom. They also streamlined the menu. They no longer have the wall of coolers with alcoholic beverages (like canned cocktails, beer, and wine). They do have one cooler with a variety of soft drinks. They do still sell some bottled and canned alcoholic beverages, but a very limited variety. They also no longer have the shelves of packaged food for sale. They now have one tiny shelf with a limited variety of dry ramen. The new layout makes it feel much more like a take out sub shop style venue. I tried the pho, which was my first time...I usually get a banh mi...and they had an unusual option...Pho with ramen noddles instead of the traditional rice noodles. It was delicious! The broth was flavorful, the meat, herbs and bean sprouts were fresh, and the ramen noodles were great in Pho! It was also my first time eating in, and it was actually pretty nice...I was the first one seated at a table, but by the time I finished there were 3 other parties seated at tables, or the high stools along the window counter. Good lunch spot.

My partner ordered the vegetable pho, and I went with the pork wonton soup. We also shared an order of pan-fried dumplings. Everything was comforting and flavorful, and the portions were impressively generous. Even the "small" pho was anything but small, and the wonton soup -- listed as an appetizer -- easily ate like a full bowl on its own. We both ended up with leftovers, especially her. The dumplings were nicely pan-fried with a good balance of crispness and filling, and paired well with the soups. This is the kind of place where you leave full and happy. Service was warm and welcoming -- the owner/server was very sweet, friendly, and helpful, which made the stop feel relaxed and personal rather than rushed. A solid, satisfying spot for a casual meal, especially if you're hungry or planning on leftovers.
