Wow. This was truly an exceptional experience for my 1 year old. Suzi was perfect, engaging and respectful towards my child and myself. She had every form of distraction for children; toys, iPad, video games etc. We don't do screens in my house so Suzi immediately turned them off when I mentioned my child was screen free. She grabbed a toy for him and he was quickly engaged. My 1 yr old sat on my lap facing me and Suzi slowly introduced the scissors and comb to him since he's never had a haircut before. What I really liked is she would describe to my son what she was doing when he was focused on her. She was super patient and efficient getting my child tidied up. The general boys cut is darling. We had an amazing experience with Suzi! My 3-year-old son, who has autism, struggles with physical touch due to overstimulation and since this was his first haircut, we were unsure how it was going to go. Suzi was incredibly patient, professional, and never rushed or forced him. She let him walk around the salon to get more comfortable with his environment and even had toys to play with. Her approach was gentle and understanding which means so much to me as a parent of a child with special needs. My son's hair was knotted and matted (due to sensory issues) and up to this point we had been unsuccessful in completely detangling it in any way without it hurting him. I explained the situation to Suzi who then took her time carefully untangling it and still managed to give him a great cut. There was minimal pain and he actually sat through most of it willingly without any issues. He looks adorable, and we were so impressed by how she handled everything. She immediately makes my little one feel at ease- friendly voice, positive attitude, inviting demeanor, and lots of fun in the studio (tablet for kiddos to watch while getting a cut). We went to Suzi at Little Stars Salon (inside Sola Salon) for our daughter's very first haircut. She got the back trimmed up and wanted bangs. But we also hot her a heart braid with glitter too! It was a great first haircut experience. Suzi was great with our daughter but also very patient with me as a nervous and emotional mom. We have already scheduled our next appointment. My daughter really needed a haircut for a wedding. But I needed someone experienced with children to work with my 2 1/2 year-old. I would highly recommend Suzi to any parent looking for a good haircut experience for their kiddo. My son was having his first real haircut and also had a bad case of cradle cap. Suzi spotted the cradle cap and got to work on it, which I was not expecting since I only signed up for a haircut! She got rid of all the cradle cap with patience and compassion for my son's comfort, followed by a cute cut. She relates to kids like they are actual humans and seems to really enjoy working with them. She helped to get out the cradle cap that had been recurring for YEARS and my daughter's scalp is looking so clean! Suzi is amazing!! She is the best kids hair stylist in the area, hands down! She is professional and polite but also very warm and caring. You can tell she really cares about her clients and their needs. My child has special needs and is very tricky to work with because of some previous traumatic experiences at other children salons around town. However, Suzi is so calm and understanding; he barely moved while he was in her chair (at the other places, he wouldn't even sit down!). Her salon in located inside Sola salon and has her own private studio room. She has placed a table with various toys and even a small toy kitchen! Suzi set up a mini iPad so my child could watch a movie while getting his haircut. Like any kids salon, she has sweets and prizes the kids can pick out at the end! My child took scissors to her hair while I was out of town on a work trip. Suzi managed to salvage it-- all while working with my spicy, wiggly child (who was recently diagnosed with an adjustment disorder). Two of my 3 yr old triplets got their hair cut today and it was a fantastic experience. Booking online was a snap. I love getting email/text appointment reminders. One of my girls has really damaged hair in the back from rubbing her head back and forth at night, so it was time to take the plunge and get it cut short. Suzi did a wonderful job removing the damaged hair and creating a super cute shape that works with my daughter's natural curl. She likes her new haircut and I like no more daily battles to brush out the giant mat of tangles. My son has very curly hair which I haven't wanted to cut, but it was getting pretty shaggy and untidy. Suzi's cut removed all the weight that was dragging down the curl, so it doesn't look appreciably shorter than before but now all his curls pop again! I love it! She definitely knows her way around curly hair!! My third kid was able to play with toys and stay entertained while the other two got cuts. Took my 5 year old for a much needed haircut last week. Suzi was engaging and fun and my daughter immediately took to her. My daughter decided to go quite a bit shorter than she had ever previously had, and Suzi did a great job on her new bob. Then she got to finish it off with a heart braid with glitter and a new butterfly hair-clip. Haircuts have been a very traumatic event for us in the past. I was very excited to find a low stimulation, comfortable environment that our son could have time to explore before getting his hair cut. My daughter got a hair cut from Suzie today. And boy it was so much more than a hair cut. Suzie really took her time with shampoo and cut and then she did an amazing braided hair do. The hair do was supplemented with a beautiful rainbow colored bow. My daughter got a sticker and a little unicorn too. Furthermore there are plenty of toys to play with and cartoons to watch. We went to Little Stars today for my son's haircut. He got an amazing makeover haircut that we both love AND got to choose his favorite color of biodegradable glitter to top it off.
