Such a tasty place! We took some family from Chicago for dinner here and everything was delicious. We shared a few different momos (dumplings) and I love that there are different preparation options you can choose. The lamb curry was delicious and the stir fried noodles were also super tasty. Everything had a nice level of spice to it as well - not too intense but it had a nice heat. The interior is cozy and small but I think they have a patio out back which would be lovely in the summer! This is a great place to share with a group - we had a great time sharing all the entree options. Service was also good - we were checked on frequently and our water was never empty (which was helpful for some of the spicier options). Love that they have frozen momos to go and lots of vegetarian options!

I was in Madison recently on a weekend and we were searching for a dinner spot. And we found a winner! We waited about 10 minutes for a table on an early Saturday night (you could opt to sit on the floor with cushions). The restaurant is unassuming from the outside but wait until you get the food! We had a nice table near the front window; the place isn't huge. We ordered momos, chicken curry, two kinds of noodles and paneer and mixed vegetable curry. Everything was delicious, from the soft bread, the momos, the chicken curry was outstanding, flavorful, and so were all the dishes we ordered. Our server was amazing- she was attentive and a wonderful server. The entire visit was top notch. Definitely on the top of my list on Madison.

This place is very quaint and has a nice relaxing vibe. We got to sit at one of the low tables, where you take your shoes off and sit on the floor, and that was a really cool experience! The service here was great and fairly quick. The food was very different from anything I've had before, as this was my first time trying Tibetan food. The momos were pretty tasty and the paneer veggie curry was good as well! Everything was very well seasoned and flavorful and I definitely recommend for a nicer dinner.

I came in for a quick lunch, and this place did not disappoint! I got their chicken shaptak, and it was great! It wasn't too saucy, and the sauce just had a bit of spice. The food did take a little bit to come out, but it was really busy. The server was really attentive though and refilled the cool water cups multiple times. They had multiple well-decorated seating areas, and the atmosphere was just really welcoming.

No wait on a Tuesday evening. Small space, authentic vibes. Smelled really good. Came with a free soup to start and it was actually really good. Food was flavorful. Do wish the entre came with some time of veggie. Would come back to try the thali or noodles!

Food was wonderful. We had not been here before and a friend suggested it. We were happy with the flavors from all the dishes but I think the chicken curry was better. The dipping sauce with the gyoza / dumplings was good and worked with the filling inside. Side of rice came with the curry dish. The Kheer is a very tasty dessert here and not overly spiced with cinnamon or cardomon.

I think this is my new favorite restaurant in Madison! And by new I mean new to me as I believe they've been around for a while. The ambience is so cute and the service is amazing. We ordered the thali and momos based on reviews and everything was spectacular. Everything was the perfect consistency and temperature, right price, and right amount of food. Parking is street parking so keep that in mind, totally worth it to enjoy this special place.

Beef Momo with chili cheese sauce

The service was very polite. I've never had cuisine from this region so I didn't know what to expect. I guess I expected something like Chinese or Thai, but the chili cheese sauce really threw me. It reminded me of Alfredo or something. I'm not used to cheese in Asian food. It was good, though. The beef maybe could have been more tender. I'm glad I tried it, I'd like to try something else next time.

I am not even exaggerating when I say that Little Tibet Madison has the BEST Tibetan food in the States. This place deserves all the love - great service, cute ambiance and TASTY authentic food. I am not from Madison, however I usually make frequent visits for work trips. I randomly stumbled upon this place on my recent visit and was very intrigued to try a Tibetan place that had glorious reviews and this place definitely did not disappoint. They start off by serving complimentary clear veggie soup, it is an amazing start to clear off your palate. We ordered Jhol Veg Momo (they're vegan) as well as some Bhajiya's for appetizers. Jhol was very flavorful, and momos were steamed perfectly. For main course, we ordered Veg Chowmein. It has to be one of the best I've had so far! If you are someone who likes spicy food, definitely try their dry chilly paste along with Chowmein, your tongue will burn but you'll be satiated!! :) I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you like South Asian food! The ambiance is very cute and cozy. They have seating arrangements where you can sit down on floor level tables and enjoy your meal in an authentic form. They also have regular tables, however, I'd consider to request to get seated in one of their unique seatings. I consider this place as Madison's loved treasure and definitely hope they plan to open up a franchise in Chicago some day!

    Vegetable Thali (modified vegan)
    Lexi G.

Little Tibet is so cozy and delicious, I can't wait to come in the winter and warm up with some curry! I've been here twice and gotten the same thing--the vegetable thali, which they're able to make vegan. It seems like the only swap they make with the vegan modification is the dessert. Some sort of pudding is swapped for a coconut/kiwi dessert that is so sweet and refreshing. Otherwise it comes with a vegetable curry, dal/bean soup, a potato dish, pickled cucumber, seasoned greens, rice, a spicy sauce, and bread/pappadam. I think it's fairly priced at $18 given the variety, quality, and size of the dish. The vegetable momo are also tasty and have a wonderful sauce. My only critique is that the service varied quite a bit between visits. On the first visit waitstaff wasn't very attentive--we had empty water glasses for last half of the meal and server never came back until it was time for the bill and they didn't tell explain anything that we were served. The second visit was the compete opposite. Very attentive and all the dishes were explained as they were brought out. But for both visits they were very friendly so that's a plus! I'm excited to come back to Little Tibet!

It was our first visit to Ama and definitely won't be our last. With the family's strong…read morerestaurant pedigree (Chautara and Dobhan), they are definitely coming in hot with Ama. Everything we tried was outstanding. The restaurant has two floors which may lead for a tad slower service on a busy night as people go up and down the stairs. I enjoy the throwback signs of restaurants of old. Plants and artwork broke up the space, feeling both open yet cozy. We started with a few apps-bison momo, samosa, and pakoda. The samosa had an incredibly flaky crust that was stellar. The momo was next level. The accompanying sauce brought a little heat but every bite left you wanting more. For our main course, we opted for the lamb kabobs as well as the biriyani. The lamb was executed perfectly-a great char with tender meat, it was accompanied by a nice rice pilaf. The dish was substantial as was the biriyani. Flavor packed, it hit all the notes. For those new to Madison or unfamiliar to the area, Ama is set back off the road with a very small/tight parking lot. We opted for street parking vs. trying to jenga ourselves out of there. A must visit.

They have a beautiful patio with lots of flowers. Inside there is seating on the ground level and then an upstairs that overlooks the 1st floor. There's lots of natural light and the atmosphere is just really nice. I will say it was a bit toasty inside and the windows were open. Our server was very attentive and helped me figure out what could be made vegan (a lot of the menu). My table ordered samosas, which were light/tasty and almost seemed like they were baked. I ordered the tofu buff for my entree and I really enjoyed it. The portion sizes are a little small for the price, but it does come with a delicious dal and that helps. Overall really flavorful and it all tasted so fresh. I'm looking forward to my next visit!
