Little Tony's has a relaxed and welcoming vibe. The food menu consists of above average bar food. The drinks here aren't anything out of the ordinary, but are made well. As for the starters/sides, the cheese stix, fries, and pickle chips are all good options. The pickle chips have a bit of a kick to them, but aren't overly spicy. The fries come in either a small or large basket. I recommend getting the large considering it's only 75 cents more. The burgers are a local favorite, and they don't disappoint. I typically get the 1/2 lb ground round with cheese and caramelized onions. My wife got a fried chicken sandwich, which I never had from here before, but would definitely get again. I've had a craving for a good burger recently. You know .... the one with no frills, sesame bun, seasoned burger patty and a sack of onion rings to go on the side. Yelp led me to Little Tony's for a carry out before the football game. The owner, Tony, took our order. Immediately we felt at home. This is definitely a place where regulars come weekly and everyone treats you like family even if it's your first time. The place itself is cozy and no frills. I liked that! Now to the burger .... AMAZING. It definitely hit the spot. It was exactly what I wanted. It tasted so good that I wish I ordered another. The onion rings were the perfect pairing. Crunchy and fried to my liking. Then ordered food and a drink. Appetizer was loaded tots, but came out just tater tots. Not a big deal. Didn't see the waitress again until she brought a bill. Would have liked to have had more to drink but didn't get the chance. Since the tater tots came out without chili and cheese we asked for it in a to go cup so we can eat it at a later time. we have been going to Little Tony's for decades and have had wonderful service and the best hamburger. We went back a couple of weeks ago and had the same great service we were used having, however, th burgers were once cooked, dry and lacked flavor. The buns were not toasted and were cold and stale. It was a perfect evening to sit on the patio. When I got there around 6 pm, it was about 1/3 full but by the time I left, the whole patio was full. The place is great for kids, families, casual date night, or just bonding time with girlfriends. It has a dive bar feel and the food matches. Somehow this place has lost a step or two in the last few years. I used to come here with my parents when I was a kid, maybe as a 10-year-old the food seemed better at the time. To begin with I was disappointed how long it took for someone to take my order been the place wasn't that busy. There were three servers running around, with only about five or six tables occupied, and it still took about 5-10 minutes for my order to be taken. This pattern repeated itself throughout my visit, I had to fight my waitress down for a refill on my drink, to pay my bill, just about anything involving a server. It seems like the hamburgers have gotten a little pricey too. I ordered a patty melt, and was shocked to see that it came to almost 8 dollars for just the burger. They didn't even prepare it properly, opting to separately grill my bread rather than grilling the sandwich assembled, like every other place does it. The burger itself was fine, but nothing exceptional. Overall I was disappointed, and I don't think I'll be going out of my way to go back anymore. read more

This place is a total joke $7 for a $3 hamburger, $2 for a Coke. The Coke was about 6 ounces and they charge for refills. Avoid this place like the plague. Better food, atmosphere and pricing at Five Guys at 9 mile and Gratiot. I felt sorry for the waitress, you could tell she was embarrassed to have to say that they charge for refills. Nothing fancy just good food, food drinks. We probably eat here once a week. Burgers are always done just as we ask for them. The fries are crispy and always prepared fresh. I also like their homemade chili. Standard "bar" appetizers but they are always good; clam strips, fries mushrooms, and new to the menu macaroni bites! There are TVs to catch the game and good music in the background. When the weather is nice we like to sit on the patio which over looks Mack Avenue. This is a family friendly place! read more

Arrived to a busy restaurant, was seated at the bar to wait for a table. Seated at a table for dinner approximately 15 minutes later. Sat at table 20 minutes after distinctly hearing waitress being told she was assigned to our table. Sat another 15 minutes watching other tables being served by that same waitress after our arrival. Waited another 15 minutes and finally asked said appointed waitress if she had our table and she said "no one told me " another 10 minutes and she came to table stating she didn't know she was assigned to our table and she would be right with us . Its now been an hour ! Another new arrival and this waitress asked his order and brought Chili to him in less than 5 minutes. No amount of buying my drinks or phony pleasantries after that would matter. Food was mediocre and will never go back !!!! read more

This place is awesome. On vacation with my family and my dad said to go here because he always went here when he was a kid. So calm inside the restaurant. There were 3 or 4 other parties while we were there so it wasn't too quiet but not too loud. I got the fish and chips. Very good. Definitely a place to go if you want to relax. read more

Took us quite a while to try Little Tony's and glad we finally did. It was a lovely evening more autumnal than August, so we opted to eat outside on their intimate patio. Inside looked a bit dark, but would be inviting on a cold winter night. Short sandwich-based menu, but they advertise that they were "Voted the best burger in the East Side," and it's mighty close to the truth. We each had the 1/3 lb burger w/cheddar cheese. At my age, a half pound burger is just too much, and the third pounder is just right. My wife ordered sauteed onions & I had the raw. Either way, a juicy & delicious burger. We started off splitting a cup of chili - we've found some amazing chili here on the East Side (Shores Inn, Sidestreet Diner!!) and the waitress said we'd love it. Well, we didn't love it, but didn't mind it either. Decent, not great. We ordered the fries well done, as we like them crispier than most places serve them. Not necessary here - next time we'll take them how they come. Short selection of tap beers, but a fairly large selection of bottled beers. Decent prices all around. We'll be back! read more

I know this place as Little Tony's. After hearing my husband talk about this place for years, he finally took me here for the first time a few months ago. He always talks about how he used to work the grill here, how all the servers saw him grow up, and how they have the BEST damn burgers in the world. He was right. The atmosphere is that of your typical neighborhood bar. The service is friendly and very quick. The menu is limited to your basic bar food, relying heavily on burgers and some deep fried appetizers. But seriously, best burger ever. I had a plain swiss burger cooked medium rare. First off, these burgers are hand packed fresh each day, and they actually cook it to your specification. None of that 'all burgers are cooked medium well for your safety" crap. This burger was cooked exactly medium rare and oh my god was it juicy and tender! I've recently gone semi-vegetarian. I'm trying to cut down on meats and plan to only eat them once a month or so. But there is no way in hell I am giving up my Little Tony's burgers! Also, this place is really cheap. Dinner for 5 plus appetizers and drinks was under $30! And they have a nice outdoor patio. read more

I've lived in Grosse Pointe for a few years now and people couldn't believe that I had never been to Little Tony's aka a "Grosse Pointe staple." My husband and I went the other night and sat on the patio. I can see why people love this place--simple, delicious, no frills burgers at a great price. My husband and I each got a burger and shared a basket of fries. I would say the burger tasted like a diner burger, which is my favorite kind of burger!
