I have a hard time trying to find someone who can do my hair how I like it. I have very hard-to-deal-with hair that is very frizzy and thick. Evelyn did my hair with so much ease. It wasn't frizzy at all. It was so smooth and looked amazing! So happy I found a place with knowledgeable stylists who know how to deal with difficult hair! This was my first visit at Live. My regular salon doesn't open on Sundays or Mondays and I desperately needed my hair done for my maternity photoshoot on a Monday. I didn't have to wait at all when I arrived as my hair dresser was ready to go. She gave me a relaxing hair wash with scalp massage and asked me how I wanted my hair. I explained that I was taking maternity pics and the theme was glam so I wanted glamorous curls. She said she knew exactly what I was talking about. The salon is small but very clean and well lit. They offered me water, coffee, or wine. They played soft music, but also had friends playing on Netflix with captions, which made it even more enjoyable. The process from beginning to end took 1 hour which was perfect timing. My hair came out fabulous, more than I expected. And now, two days later my hair is still clean and shiny with nice bounce. read more

Great experience at this blow dry bar...from the moment I called, everyone was friendly, helpful and just easy to get along with. Most importantly, my hair looked and felt great when I left the salon. I didn't have any event to attend, just needed a quick blow out. I found LIV on Yelp. Robby, my stylist was super funny and did such a wonderful job of giving me a simple clean blow out. The only thing is that it didn't last. Usually when I get my hair blown out or do it myself, it lasts about 3 days. I had my appointment at noon and was out by around 1pm. By 3:30-4, my hair had fallen limp. Waa. Waa. To their credit, I arrived about 8 minutes late due to the atrocious parking situation. I was there on a weekday (during the holidays) around lunch hour so maybe everyone working at Datran center was also in the shopping center. PARK ON THE ROOF TOP! You can either call or make an appointment via their website, which is usually what I do as it is fast, easy and they send you an email confirmation. I came in a few minutes early and was promptly attended to. The massage I was given during the wash was bliss. I told my stylist what I wanted and she followed it exactly. I made an appointment for an event on a Sunday morning, it was 10 am when I called for an 11 am appointment and the receptionist indicated there was only a 12 pm available. When I got there the place was scarce so it made me wonder why she said 12pm in the first place. The receptionist was super laid back and seemed to be hanging out at her house, when asked to help doing my hair to make the service quicker, she did a horrible job doing my curls and last about 30 minutes. I honestly could have done a better job myself. The young lady who attended me was nice and efficient but the receptionist chick was just so lazy it caused this horrible review. At least I got a mimosa, but my hair was not really what I wanted after paying $50, probably won't be coming here again. read more

So I've been waiting for a blow dry lounge to open up closer to my house and they're finally here! They started out this week doing FREE blow outs during their soft opening to see how everything went. Making the appointment was easy! I spoke to the owner and she is super nice and welcoming. When I arrived at the salon her and the other owner which is her husband both greeted me and offered me something to drink (citrus water, super nice touch.) I was informed that my stylist would be right with me and I sat and waited. A couple minutes later the owner introduced me to my stylist. Aleeana or something similar. (I'm so bad with names lol) She sat me down asked me about my hair and how I wanted it. They have the cutest little look books with plenty styles to choose from! Wash time! One of my alllllll time favorite things about his place is that they have a separate room for washing so you can actually relax and not have to listen to all the blow dryers that may be going on. Another hugggeeeee awesome perk is that they are only using Natural products from Davines which is an Italian brand that is amazing for your hair. My stylist was super knowledgeable about the products and was super friendly! I had such a great experience, the owners are attentive to every detail! I know the only thing they're going to need is more chairs because people are going to LOVE this place. At 40 dollars the blow dry and I heard they're going to be open starting at 7am! Made a last minute appointment the day of using their online system. I found lots of parking, it was easy to find. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and offered something to drink. The owner Katie is a delight, and her attentive professionalism is mirrored by everyone who works here. ALL the stylists are good. Yes, I have some favorites but if they're unavailable I'm happy to book with any of them. Most of the stylists have been here for over a year and they'll always try to provide the look you ask for. I've been to blow dry bars in many different cities. There are a few things worth noting that make this blow dry bar stand out from others. First, it's clean and comfortable with a relaxing vibe (which is not easy to do when you have so many noisy blowdryers being run at once). I've been in some other blow dry bars that felt chaotic and cramped but here the setup feels more like a high end salon. Also, appointments almost always run right on schedule. I cannot recall the last time I had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment. That is an impressive feat in a business where customers often show up late. Appointments are easy to book either by phone or online and their text confirmations are helpful. A few practical suggestions. I avoid M-F lunchtime appointments because parking can be scare then, although there is always parking available on the roof. If you want an appointment for Friday or Saturday book more than a day in advance. For holidays, book a few days before. Otherwise, I can usually get a same day appointment. Everybody who walks out of this salon has beautiful looking hair -- some straight, some wavy and some full of volume and curls.
