I have been going there for several years. The stylists are excellent. Management sucks! I made an appointment yesterday. At the same time I had a surgical procedure yesterday. This morning I did not feel well. Lalani was insistent on charging a cancellation fee so I went. I showed her my incision and assured her I would not be back. Neither would anyone I know. I used to look forward to the experience of this place. Been coming here over 1 1/2 yrs. I've used atleast 5 different stylists, all were great stylists and nice people. All are gone now. The person they put me today was full of attitude, kept wetting me when washing my hair and barely lathered it. When I asked her about the extra conditioning I asked for she told me she did it initially. When I pressed her that she didn't she blamed the lady at the front desk. I asked to just pay for the hair wash. The manager put me with someone else. They were nice enough but half asked dried my hair. I was done in less than 25 minutes (including the time that I waited for a new stylist). Last surprise on the way out price INCREASE. Sad to lose this experience. Don't bring your money here unless you don't mind paying for a crappy blow dry. No luxurious escape here anymore. Very sad!! read more

Gaby did my hair and makeup for an event, last Saturday. My hair& scalp are delicate, I asked her to blow dry on low and not pull with the brush. She was awesome and respected my request. She did my makeup, we both agreed that the first time she did my eyes, they didn't look good. She started from scratch, to make me happy with my look. She was very patient and made sure I was happy. The fact that you do get to see the owner there on the regular shows how "hands on" she is on her establishment. Pricing: $40.00 blow out & style, no matter HOW LONG your hair is! Any regular salon would charge me $60-80 for my long locks. Like why? AWESOME TIP: Mon-Thursday 11am-2pm You can get a blow out & style for $30.00!!! They always play great movies on the tv, especially my favorite Romantic Comedies, have music playing (but not too loud), and do know they give a GREAT SCALP MASAGE! After Blo in Midtown suddenly closed I found myself panicked about where to go for my blowouts. I tried quite a few places but nothing compares to Live Blow Dry. I love this place! I'm always greeted with a smile and something to drink. I usually ask for coffee or green tea. LiveBlow Dry is located in the same shopping mall as Roasters n Toasters and Nothing Bundt Cakes. There is a ton of parking, although if you go during holiday season you'll have a hard time finding a space after 10 AM. I get my hair done by two very amazingly sweet and talented ladies - Aniela R. and Kathleen H. If you want an incredible blowdry that will last you days, see Aniela. She always leaves my hair looking beautiful, luscious, and healthy, and she gives the best head massage when she washes my hair. She also does beautiful makeup although I have not had her do mine yet. I've seen her work though and she's great! Aniela is the sweetest person and always makes me feel welcome and comfortable. She's so upbeat and radiates so much positivity and she's really so much fun! Kathleen is an expert at braids, updos and makeup. I always book with her for my big events and when I want something completely different. She always has cool ideas that turn out so, so beautiful. She did a halo braid on my hair for a wedding I attended and I received a ton of compliments, even from strangers. She is also a perfectionist, which I love! She won't let me leave her chair unless she's gotten it right and we are both happy. I've gotten my makeup done with her and she does an incredible job. I felt so beautiful! She's so sweet and patient. She exudes calm and kindness always. From what I've seen, all the hairdressers are really great, but I just adore these two ladies so much and I am so accustomed to them that I couldn't imagine getting my hair done by anyone else. Don't worry, you can always find rooftop parking, which has a staircase right by Live. I love the decor and the ambiance. Everything is so clean and modern.
