    Red Oak slab
    Dano R.

I'm looking for a couple of 8'-9' foot live edge slabs for a basement bar and visited this establishment. The staff (Nicole) was very helpful in explaining the process as well as showing me what the current inventory had to offer. They had a decent supply of Live edge slabs from various types of trees including: Black walnut, Sycamore, Beech, Ash, White Oak, Red Oak, etc. They also have smaller pieces (round pieces) of live edge for various wood projects such as tables, shelves, etc. You can also purchase a slab and they will hold it until your ready to use it which is very important in my case.

Despite contacting them twice about this issue and being reassured that it was a mistake in their system, we have now received another notice regarding the same payment. It is incredibly frustrating to be accused of not making a payment that we clearly remember doing. At this point, I am requesting urgent communication from the owner to address this matter. The customer service we have experienced has been extremely poor, and I have no intentions of returning to this store in the future. It took an entire year for our order to be fulfilled, and now they are claiming they did not receive our cash payment upon delivery. This lack of accou

Contacted Peoples and was told there was no warranty. I was put on hold and requested a call back and newer received one. Spent $4,000 not to a call back. I would not recommend buying anything used from there.

We loved the class! the Chef kept a great pace so that we made 3 versions of sushi, even though there were 14 people in the class. The room for the class isn't very big. The class consisted of 3 tables of 8. Twenty-four people per class is too big. It felt too cozy. I've taken a Sur La Table class before but it's been awhile. I remember it being more hands-on. In this class, we barely did anything. The lobster was cooked and cut for us. We cut some herbs and mixed the dressing. Not very exciting. The potatoes were pre-cooked and one person from each table got to smash them. We were given all the ingredients for the pie and we threw it all together and into a pan. The dough for the roll was premade for us. We each took a piece and rolled it into the shape of a roll. The Rickey was made for us. I wouldn't take another class.

This store does carry all of the latest trends that people want to try, which is good. I am interested in some of the crystal candy, I do not always know where to get these products. The person working here did seem friendly. She did not talk to me, but she was engaging kindly with another customer having a lively pop culture conversation about a show. On the other hand this place is extremely overpriced if you know where to get your hot trendy products. For instance, they had the mango pealing candy for $4 or $5. I found the same product for $1.99 at Walgreen's. They have the carbonara noodles, which you can find for a lot cheaper. The other suspicious items you find here are the bootleg plush toys. I am not sure how stores like this or kiosks at the mall get away with selling bootleg toys, but the Hazbin hotel plushies are not original or necessarily licensed. Since I do buy the kids Vizipop merch, I always go to the official website. These items tags stated things like hotel pig and hotel spider. I also found them on Amazon that stated they were "inspired" by the show Hazbin Hotel. The official website is how the artist makes money, so I am not sure how the law works with the copies. I would go back to the store and the kids would like it too but I will try to only purchase official and licensed merch.

No matter the time of year I love visiting Downtown Home & Garden. My previous review stated, "I love any store where I can get tulip bulbs, a new bird house, a winter hat shaped like a Christmas tree, a new cookie sheet and a loaf of Zingerman's bread" and all that still rings true. But these days I also add national parks merch, gear for my dogs, holiday decor, kitchen gadgets and cookbooks and, perhaps most exciting for a Polish broad like myself, a variety of Polish pottery pieces. In the spring and summer months I can be found perusing peony bulbs for my garden, hummingbird feeders, bird seed and squirrel proof bird feeders, planters, plants/starters for my veggie garden, pest control and fertilizers, plus a variety of lawn decor and sculpture pieces, etc. Some things can be kind of pricey but you truly get what you pay for. Even after years out in the elements everything I've bought for my yard here is still in amazing condition, my plants from here always yield the most delicious fruits and veggies, and the little birdies are so happy with the snacks we provide them from their bins.
