They let you browse around on your own to discover whatever you're looking for. I was looking for some jewelry, but they had a bunch of older vintage watches as well as mostly costume jewelry. They used to have a reward card that gave you a discount after 10 punches, they took that away about a year ago. They have not reopened their dressing rooms since they reopened after the covid scarce. I get why they were closed initially, but there's no reason to have them closed now. I was there today and their newest policy is they have no exchanges or returns at all. So you can't try clothes on, but you also can't return it if it doesn't fit. That's just a no go for me. I feel like this has to hurt their business. As an organization whose goal is to provide funding for others and to also sell things at a discounted rate it feels like they're making huge mistakes in their policies.

She didn't have anything to wear for an afternoon tea party and we were able to find some thing for her at a reasonable price. My mom prefers to go to this resale shop as opposed to other shops, since they have nicer and more fashionable items than most resale shops. It seems that they're more selective about the clothing that goes to this location as opposed to others. Given that my mother has several items of clothing from her wardrobe from here, I can appreciate that they do take more care about what they put on the floor here. Sensible styling seems to be the focus. My mother is a happy customer.

I was so impressed by the quality of the customer service at this lamp shop. The owners, Michael & Mel, offer the kind of customer care that seems long forgotten. They went the extra mile in fixing a problem with a fixture, even going so far as to contact the manufacturer directly for me and arrange a replacement! The variety of lamps and shades is large (and unique) and Judy was very friendly in greeting customers. i disagree with many of the negative comments about MICHAELS LAMP SHOP. I have purchased at least four vintage Tiffany style lamps from them and are having another beautiful floor lamp built. I always look forward to visiting the shop. They have held several pieces of lamps for me for several months, and let me make payments. They are not cheap, but do very excellent work. They are the best at matching lamp shades to lamps. It's the best variety in SE Michigan. If they don't have it, they can order it. I've been going to them since the early '90's and have had dozens of lamps rewired and remade. I'd rate their work and service as a 10+. Lots of incredible vintage lamps and fixtures, too. There's doors and fixtures and all other kinds of things you would expect. There may be something that's just what you needed, but I wouldn't expect a good price. The last time I came though I was looking to find some old hardwood for my floors. My floors are incredibly old, so I wanted some older wood to match both the quality and color change of my floors to patch up some bad spots. The guy who helped me didn't know the difference between the different types of woods and what to look for. We spend a long time looking and standing around before someone else freed up to help. They also didn't have anything more than ten or so years old, which is not their fault, just the inventory at the time, though most stuff seems to be only twenty years old or newer. So I wasn't able to get anything that actually did match but it was better than nothing. The price also isn't great. I had to make two trips for two different types, and for my second batch, the price got higher because it was a different kind of wood. Okay fine, that makes sense, but it's not documented anywhere so I just have to believe them, and I didn't get why it cost just as much as new wood. I know there's something about retrieving and processing when it comes to actually "reclaimed" wood, but I just couldn't see it with this. I probably won't be back unless I get desperate for something old again.
