However, the real issues surfaced when I started unpacking. Firstly, my shoes were carelessly stacked on top of each other, resulting in several pairs being completely ruined. Considering the cost of the move, I expected more care with handling delicate items like shoes. Secondly, I had opted for a wardrobe box to transport my clothes, expecting them to be neatly hung inside. Instead, my clothes were simply dumped into a regular box without any provision for hanging. This was particularly frustrating as it led to significant creasing and wrinkling of my garments. Thirdly, I entrusted them with packing 30 paintings, specifying they be individually packed and not stacked. Unfortunately, they disregarded this request, resulting in scraped paint and finger prints on several artworks. This contradicted their claim of "white glove service" and left me deeply dissatisfied. Overall, I paid $1200 for a 6-hour move, which is not insignificant for a one-bedroom apartment. They actually initially gave me an estimate of 600 for a 3-hour move, so prepare to double. While moving is never fun, I have done many moves over the years. The moving company and movers can make moving day bearable or a nightmare. I was referred to Live Moving and had never seen their trucks nor heard of them. From the moment I contacted them the communication was excellent. The extra services were offered but not pushed. Everything was extremely professional including the electronic estimate, payment methods, follow-up prior to moving day, etc. So, pre-move I was feeling pretty good about Live. Then moving day came...and i had notifications of travel times and everything was accurate. Then, wow that the truck looked new, shiny, and clean...and so did the team. They did not start the clock until they were shown the apartment, elevator, etc. And they were professional. polite, and careful; yet fast. Following is from my text message to my friend who referred them. I sent it part way through the move into the new home. "as so far everything has been super professional the guys are cleaning the truck is clean their professional the whole service from Tony and the communication has been great so far very happy with this moving company would recommend let's see at the end of the day." The staff were professional, courteous, careful, and worked efficiently as possible, even with service elevator constraints. The bonus was that I didn't even have to babysit them during the move. I have used other moving companies in the past and one common theme I have experienced is that there's always an item or two that get lost. With this company, every single piece of item and furniture arrived in-tact with no issues, including some large plants. Although the pricing came out slightly higher than my initial quote, it was justifiable as I had many glass items which I did not disclose at the time of my quote. Moving is not my favorite part to do but with Tony everything was so easy and smooth. He came with his partner Antom very sweet soul. I had such an amazing experience with Tony and Antom let me tell you my furniture are large and heavy and these two managed it like if they were featherlight, everything went so well no damages at all they packed and wrapped up everything so well and not only that they also were super fast.
