DO NOT RENT FROM BANGYU WU CHAN ("BONNIE WU")…read more I lived in one of Bangyu (Bonnie) Wu's units for little over three years, and it was the absolute worst rental experience I have ever had. The condition of the apartment when I moved in was far from move-in ready. The walls were covered with holes, scuffs marks, and years of wear. I spent hours cleaning the apartment myself and needed to use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers on the walls trying to make them look presentable. The apartment had not been painted in years. I also had terrible cockroach infestations that took them nearly 6 months to address. Despite the condition of the unit when I moved in, I did my best to maintain it throughout my tenancy. When I moved out, I hired professional cleaners and also paid professionals to patch and paint the walls after removing my wine racks. What ultimately pushed me to write this review was the handling of my security deposit. Out of a $2,400 security deposit, only approximately $130 was returned. I was charged for wall holes, paint, and broken blinds that all exhisted prior to my move-in. On top of the poor living conditions, Bonnie was incredibly mean and spiteful, consistantly lieing regarding matters and at one point tried to force me to move out. The most frustrating part is that I invested my own time and money trying to leave the apartment in excellent condition, only to have nearly my entire deposit withheld anyway. I cannot speak to every property managed by Wilshire Metro Realty (as Russell Chan was actually quite helpful when I first moved in). However Russell & Bonnie are a husband & wife team, and certainly teamed up against me. I would strongly advise against renting any units from Bangyu Wu Chan. If you already have rented a unit from her, I encourage you to to thoroughly document everything you can, now!
