I then asked him if he could recommend someone else to fix it but again no answer. I had Virgil from Morgan Construction to give me a quote (I always get at least 5 quotes from various vendors). He was the only one who gave me a quote the next day. In the course of repairing the railing, we found that the beams were not securely attached to the post and the deck was not plumbed correctly when built. Virgil had to secure the post to the beams and cut off portions of the railing to get it to plumb correctly. I am very disappointed in Jake.

Jake and his guys are great!…read more I had a deck framed then I finished the top and skirt boards to save on costs. They dug the footings and framed it. Fabulous job. The only issue was that some of the boards were not perfectly straight (Douglas Lumber) so the joists didn't come up to meet the surface boards I installed. This issue would have been discovered if they had done the entire deck. I don't blame them: I am fairly handy and sharing the work saved me a few thousand dollars. I will be having Jake and his crew come back to frame the lower-level deck and a pergola over the new one. Great value, good job; he keeps his promises, is ALWAYS right on time, and communicates beautifully...a rarity with contractors, apparently.

Further, his attention to detail was clear: he used quality materials and helped us choose products that worked well together. One thing worth mentioning: Cam does it all, unlike other "specialty" countertop contractors which won't reinstall your sink or handle demolition or tiling. We didn't want to manage multiple contractors, so having a single point-of-contact that had all the requisite skills was a big win. I'd definitely work with Cam and team again!

Just like Ryan's sales rep, he was not flexible on delivery and when I asked to hold the project, he said I would incur extra fees and he would charge me per day if I didn't take delivery. After purchasing a massive metal building from them, we purchased an insulation package for $57k+ but due to Brett's ongoing failure to deliver the required interior engineering drawings, we were completely blocked from pulling our municipal building permit. Brett dragged out the production of these necessary plans for months, directly causing severe permitting delays on our end. Because of his stall tactics, our construction window was pushed directly into freezing winter weather, making delivery and construction physically impossible. When we requested a cancellation due to these forced delays, Brett and upper management stonewalled us for two years. They falsely claimed the cancellation was too expensive and refused multiple requests to show a transparent fee schedule, all while holding our cash deposit hostage. During a recent dispute, management publicly claimed that our core insulation rolls had already been custom-cut and prepared, and that they had been charged third-party warehouse storage fees. However, I went directly to their supplier, Silvercote, and caught them in a complete lie. Silvercote's corporate policy dictates that they never cut or manufacture insulation rolls until final customer delivery confirmation is received. MBO's own leaked supplier invoices confirm that zero core insulation rolls were ever produced, and MBO was billed nothing for them. Despite suffering no material losses and only paying the manufacturer $9228 for an accessory fabric kit, MBO's owner Danny is refusing to return our remaining cash balance of $48+ and is attempting to pocket a massive, uncontracted corporate penalty of $28,000 on non-existent goods. I have been forced to retain a law firm to plan to pursue a civil lawsuit under the Colorado Construction Trust Fund Statute for civil theft and treble damages. Do not trust Brett or this company with your hard-earned capital.

The hvac contractor stole from me on camera and the owner wouldn't even show back up to deliver the vent covers. I had to do a lot of repair work to the framing after repeated attempts to get BFC to fix them. Drywallers never used 1 shim. At the end of it all, they say the customer gets a "gift", nada nothing. Not that it matters but that's how Steve rolls. I think a lot of it was that I know how to do the work and have the tools and it kinda maybe made them feel like not the smartest person in the room, maybe, I don't know just speculation.

We hired Doc Tully with the Perfect Edge for a remodel of our fireplace after our usual family…read morefriend was unavailable. He came in higher than average, and we were a bit nervous based upon his reviews, but we were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and I was willing to pay for the quality work he was claiming that he could do. For the PROS: *Doc's crew was friendly overall *He was willing to fix some of the problems that arose. *We appreciated that they closed off the area with a tarp to ensure cleanliness of the surroundings *Electrician sub contractor exceeded expectations with quality of work. Now, for the CONS: *Doc pushed back start time of project to back end of the range, despite this being a point of contention in going with him since my wife would be more likely to go into labor (and she did). *Doc's crew started off the project by creating a massive gas leak in our home. As the professional, it's your job to know where the shut off valves are, and handle the job with care. Doc claims it was an "honest mistake", but it was definitely a dangerous one. *Doc dropped the ball on coordinating the installation of the fireplace. I had to go above and beyond to get this resolved at the last minute, which we really didn't appreciate the stress. Doc failed to take ANY ownership, and was too busy playing the blame game vs. trying to remedy the situation. He also wanted to charge me extra just to pick up the fireplace insert. * Attention to detail- Framing was rushed and they damaged the frame as a result, requiring it to be fixed. See attached photos. Surprising they would've let this go as quality work. They also failed to cover my mantle, and were dripping adhesive on it. I was lucky enough to have been around to notice- I had to cover it up myself to protect the finish. They also missed insulating the exterior wall of my house. I had to once again notice this and call it out in order for it to be fixed. They also failed to caulk all of the gaps in the brick, and then proceeded to charge me $100 for caulk (they took it off my bill after I called this out). I had to spend 2 full days caulking on my own just to remedy this. *Didn't follow instructions- They failed to clean up drywall splatter and re-run the cable wires as I had requested, even after multiple requests. *Misquoted amount of brick needed in bid, leading to higher cost. Then Doc picked up the WRONG brick to make up the difference, weaving in a completely different species which didn't match the same color as brick that I selected. This still to this day bothers me, and Doc wanted to charge us extra to fix it despite it being his error! I am forced to fix on my own at this point, and is my #1 source of dissatisfaction. *Clean up was poor at best. They left a bunch of stuff at my house from the project and did not clean up the mess outside. From their drywall cuts, there's still to this day a bunch of white marks all over my driveway, on my fence, and in the rock bed in my landscaping. *Perfect Edge doesn't include paint, and won't actually install gas fireplaces, leading to extra costs and effort. Overall, the project definitely came in below my expectations and was over budget, which is a lethal brew. The poor value, attention to detail, and service from Doc himself all explain the 1 star rating. My poor pregnant wife was stressed the entire project. Do yourself a favor, go with a more reputable contractor if you like quality detail work!
