My son had to have oral surgery, which is never fun, but the staff made it a totally fine experience. They were friendly, welcoming, happy to let my kid listen to whatever music he wanted while they gave him medications. Importantly, this surgery center uses an anesthesiologist to manage sedation, meaning that the patients are safer and have ultimately better care than if they skimped on staff. Our anesthesiologist was delightful. And of course Dr Eftimie was very kind, and the surgery had a fantastic outcome. I highly recommend this office. I came here recently with my mom for a wisdom teeth removal consultation and had a very negative experience. The doctor spent almost no time with me, and got frustrated with me when I informed him that I was allergic to penicillin-based antibiotics. The staff in charge of billing at the front desk gave me a consent form and bill which required me to agree to the entire surgical procedure before leaving that day. When I informed them that I needed time to think about the procedure (as my condition was risky), I asked them to print me an invoice which just included the consultation charges instead. One staff member got visibly frustrated by this and stormed off, printing the new bill, and tossing it onto the counter, saying "...because you did not want to sign the other form." My mom and I left saying, "what just happened?" Overall, we felt very unwelcome in the environment, and chose to proceed with the procedure with a different oral surgeon. read more

Best Artist in town. Dr Eftimie is the best of the best at his craft. The office is clean, the staff is super supportive and hands down best wisdom tooth extraction practitioner. His method of pain management is excellent. I chose to stay awake and glad I did so. I took some medication he prescribed to calm the nerves and during the procedure did not feel any pain. Some pressure but it was manageable. Bleeding was about 6 -8 hours. Sutures fall out at different time of day. Came out on day 2 and to day 7. Healed up 100% by week 2. Tip: 1. Be sure to have someone drive you home 2. Remove all 4 wisdom tooth so that you don't ever have to come back 3. Ibuprofen helps with discomfort read more

My 6 year old son needed to have some teeth removed. To start the consultation with Dr. Eftimie was very to the point about what needed to be done. Come the day of surgery him and the nurses reassured my husband and I that our son would be in good hands. They let us in the room with him to help comfort him while they prepped him for surgery. They removed two extra teeth that he was born with and the surgery lasted about 40 mins. They called us back when they were done. My son was drowsy and out of it for about 30 mins. Once he was more alert they sent us home. A couple hours later after we noticed one of his stitches came undone and we were worried he would have bit it and it would have caused damage so we sent a text to the Dr around 5 pm. He called us back around 5:30 and he reassure us it was fine. Around 8:30 pm he called again just to check on him and let us know exactly what he could have to breakfast the next morning. This has been the best experience we have ever had with any kind of Dr. Thank you to the ladies at the front desk for being so nice and welcoming and to Dr. Eftimie and his team for making this the best experience ever. Very impressed with Dr. Eftimie. I recently had a consultation with him regarding cross bite correction surgery. I needed to have a molar extraction this morning, and I had a great experience (under the circumstances). First of all, I'm terrified of dental work, and Dr. Eftimie and his staff were extremely pleasant and patient. Everything was explained to me ahead of time, as well as during the procedure, Dr. Eftimie kept me posted on what he was doing, and continuously asked if I was ok. Dr's assistant, I believe her name was Nicole or Natalie (I'm so sorry for not remembering) was soooo nice, a great listener of my fears, and a great source of comfort. Had all 4 wisdom teeth removed a little over a week ago... very impressed with everyone at the office. Made the whole procedure very smooth, they were all so professional. My husband called Dr. Eftimie's cell a few hours after my surgery to let him know I was in a lot of pain, he told him I could alternate some ibuprofen in with my prescription to help alleviate... later that night around 9pm, Dr. Eftimie called my husband to check on me. I was a patient at Riverside Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery twice. The first time was for a dental implant and the second recent procedure was to get my wisdom teeth extracted. I am 46 years old and my wisdom teeth were difficult to extract. I was very pleasantly surprised, both with my dental implant and, recently, with my 4 difficult wisdom tooth extractions at how MINIMAL MY SWELLING AND PAIN WERE (actually none). I only needed a little bit of ibuprofen and I had almost no bleeding. Since I have had two separate experiences here, I have to attribute this to Dr. Eftimie's surgical technique which obviously minimized the surrounding tissue trauma and made my healing so easy. Great job! I'm only coming here for any further needs. Also, reading some of the negative reviews: I can't imagine these patients were in the same office. This is a bright, open, inviting and modern office with extremely friendly staff and state-of-the-art equipment like 3D CT and LED Operating Room Lights , etc.. There is no detail too small that is not covered especially patient safety and satisfaction. There may be many choices out there, which may even cost you fractionally less, but this is the best possible care you can get.... period. read more

I don't like dental work at all. Having instruments shoved in my mouth and me having to awkwardly act as if nothing is wrong and I'm not freaking out is not a fun experience. At this office the staff and surgeon are amazing. They're considerate of your time and your needs. All of my appointments were quick and easy in regards to the removal of my wisdom teeth. They did all four at once and within two days I was eating normal food and had no pain. Compared to friends who've had awful experiences I can argue that mine was one of the best. This guy definitely knows what he's doing and I would recommended that everyone check out this office for the easiest and least painful removal of wisdom teeth. read more

No stars for this surgeon or his staff. They all came off pretentious. He had his really expensive car parked right in front of the office door & that immediately felt weird. But I was willing to keep an open mind. However as I was sitting in the exam room I overheard staff talking and the girl who was supposed to take my x-rays left for a lunch run. Then when the Dr. came in he was rushing , said hi I'm Dr. Liviu what do we got going on here? Me: I have wisdom teeth to be pulled out. Him: did they do your x-rays yet? Me: no your staff hasn't. (Shouldn't this guy have asked his staff?) I waited a few more minutes then the Receptionist told me they'd have to wait til Dr. was done with a consult in the next room before they do my x-rays. But she gave no clinical explanation as to why. As I passed the room I saw no machinery that looked like x-ray equipment. I just left. This type of thing is already nerve wrecking as it is so when the entire office seemed completely distracted with the other patient and her family the appt wasn't worth my consumer buying power. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I heard them say she had like 15 x-rays so maybe I was small potatoes for this guy? Maybe the other patient will finish paying off that shiny, expensive car for him. read more

Ok, where to start... i am HORRIFIED from dentists! And i had to take all my 4 wisdom teeth out!! I got to the clinic crying from fear.. my palms were sweating and my face was so pale! They called my name and that's when i lost it! I got to the surgery room and there was 2 ladies waiting for me there, they calmed me down in an amazing way ( but i kept crying lol) i didn't even feel the IV in my arm ( and everyone knows my PHOBIA from needles!!!!) i swear i was talking to the nurse and i remember waking up in a different room! We had an emergency, and not only he answered the phone himself before business hours, but he asked that we come in right away so he could take care of it. When we arrived at the office, the receptionist knew right away who we were, and told us the room was ready for us. We were in and out in no time. I went in for an extraction of my left bottom molar. It was broken and infected. I was very nervous. Walking into the office, it was very clean and a very friendly atmosphere. The receptionists were nice and had me fill out paperwork since it was my first time there. I was taken to a room which was very comfortable and clean. Doctor Eftimie came in and shook my hand. He was very nice, professional, and went over treatment. He seemed genuinely concerned about my well being and it was refreshing. I was taken to the surgery room and the doctor and assistant engaged in conversation with me to ease my nerves. They injected local anesthetic n let me get numb for about 10-15 min. The doctor put a warm blanket on my legs as the office was chilly. The procedure was quick and the doctor kept checking with me to make sure I was ok. He said I was a good patient. He was very comforting and fast! I am so glad my dentist referred me to this office! I have a follow-up in a week. I will check back in. read more

Dr. Liviu and his staff are true professionals that know their craft. I needed to get the last of my wisdom teeth pulled, it was in a strange place still very much under my gum and beginning to push at the root of the neighboring tooth. I was tempted to take it out 6 years ago but it hadn't really grown in far enough to make it necessary or easy to pull. Eftimie had me put under with general anesthetic, which I was a little nervous about since I've never experienced it before. However, the anesthetic person and the dental assistant clearly explained what they were doing as they did it to set my mind at more ease, and from the time then until they had me stitched and woken probably only 35 minutes had passed. He seems to know all the latest and greatest dental techniques and implements them smoothly to even get at strange teeth like mine. They patiently explained to my wife and me how to take care of the area over the next few days, set me up for a brief check up in a week, and wheeled me out in a chair and helped me get in the car, after being whacked out still from the anesthetic. It's true what other commentator said that the ladies that work as dental and administrative assistants are pretty serious and it's hard to get them to crack little more than a smile, but I found them friendly, just in a professional, more business tone demeanor. Last night, about 9 pm, Dr. Eftimie gave me a call to check and see if the area had stopped bleeding if I was doing okay. I'm sure that this was very much after hours for him and going out of his way for the extra patient care means a lot. I will preface this review by saying I am the biggest wuss when it comes to any type of dentistry. I can't stand going and I haven't been to the dentist in quite a number of years....upwards of 12! I was referred to Dr. Eftimie from my dentist that is down the street. From the time you walk into the doors you know this guy knows what he is doing. The office is immaculate, nurses and assistants are more than accommodating. The procedure that Dr. Eftimie was going to be doing on me was a Wisdom tooth extraction (impacted). During my consultation, he suggested that I didn't need to be put under, novocain would suffice. I was a little hesitant but figured why not? He told me that by putting me under, it would mess up my whole day because someone would have to drive me to/from the office and be pretty much out of it the whole day. He also said that he would save me the money since my insurance wouldn't cover it. I asked him how long he thought the procedure would take and he said approx. 15 to 20 mins, including the time that it would take for me to get numb. The day of the extraction was a breeze. He numbed me up, waited about 10 mins. and from the time he started to the time he finished (stitched and everything) couldn't have been more than 4 to 5 mins! It was hands down the best experience I have ever had with any oral surgeon / dentist in my 34 years of life. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone to do anything.....implants.....surgery...extractions. I would go to Dr. Eftimie even if my insurance didn't cover it. Absolutely outstanding. I am very impressed with how professional and courteous the staff here is. Anyone who comes here will be treated with respect and be in great hands. I just had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled from them and although it's a painful recovery, they follow up with you and the doctor gives out his personal cell number incase you have issues or need to speak with him outside of business hours. I will be recommending to all friends and family. And the review that the girl left for a 1 star review talking bad about the doctor having a nice car, seriously? He went to school and made something of himself. He deserves it you nut job! Also, wouldn't you want someone that has a nice building and car to work on you? Dr. Liviu was so great, he is very professional yet caring. I was very nervous going into the surgical room but him and his staff were very helpful and were able to help me feel very comfortable about getting put under general anesthesia. His office staff is very friendly and answered all of my questions. This place is relatively unassuming from the outside, but when I walked in, I was immediately struck by how pleasant the staff was, and Dr. Liviu was simply awesome. The place was immaculate. The bathroom smelled great, and it was super clean (a huge plus in my eyes)!!!! The operating room (where they removed my tooth) was so professionally designed that I forgot that where I was. The equipment was state-of-the-art, and Dr. Liviu's explanation of what I needed and how he would do it was warm, informative, and calming. Talk about efficient--it was 10 minutes from the moment I was first shot up to when he sewed the last stitch! I didn't have any pain or discomfort, and I was deathly afraid--especially with the (very normal) crunching sound. Dr. Liviu ACTUALLY APOLOGIZED to me for taking "a little long" to get my tooth out, but he had it out and had me stitched in under TWO MINUTES!!!!!! Parenthetically, it was the tooth just before my wisdom tooth in the upper left...way in the back. This guy is simply awesome! If you need to have a tooth removed, and you live in So. Cal (LA, San Diego, Riverside, Orange, and San Bern. counties), it's worth the drive to Tibbetts Street! In fact, after searching for dentist to do my crown and root canal, today I called Dr. Liviu's office to get a recommendation.
