They refuse to take…read moreresponsibility for what they did, and now I will have to pay 5-6k in repairs for a car that I drove for only 5 months, and paid $5500 for. The price was too good to be true for an Outback with 110k miles, and I should've listened to my better judgment. I've never written an online complaint about a business before, and I don't enjoy doing this, but the situation that Marvini put me in left me no other recourse. The longer version: The car stopped running after 5 months because it was sold to me with an engine and oil pan that were both covered in J-B Weld. This is the assessment that I got from a widely trusted, long-established, local mechanic (I myself am not knowledgeable about cars). Marvini will insist that they didn't do this, and that all the car's problems are my fault because I waited too long to get an oil change. If they read Yelp, I expect they'll respond to this with these same defenses. I've spoken to my trusted mechanic about Marvini's rebuttals, as well as other mechanics, and they all say that there's no way I could've caused these problems myself. I've shown Marvini pictures of the patched engine and oil pan, and they've basically pleaded the 5th and said nothing, or otherwise accused my own mechanic of messing with the engine and oil pan after the car was already sold to me (which is absurd). They've also refused to replace the engine for me, for the obvious reason that they would view this as an admission of fault. I don't make a lot of money and this was a big purchase for me, to help get me through a winter in the mountains. I can't afford the repairs, so now I have no car because of Marvini's unethical business practices. I strongly recommend that you think twice before buying from them.

Our other old vehicles (2010 Toyota Matrix and 04 Ford F-150 truck) have been expertly serviced by Marco and crew for 2 years now. Marco even came to our house in Ancram to "pop the clutch" of our truck (which needed a new starter), saving us a towing bill. The best part is that he is in touch with us throughout by texting. My mother in law purchased the car in her name as a buy here pay here- we put $4000 down and did $312 a month. The vehicle was driven by myself and her son. My mother In law passed away in November of 2021 and we were told as long as the payments kept coming they didn't care where the car was. They still received payments for a loan of a woman who was passed away for months. In January we went to the dealership to try to get the loan and car transfer to our names- they were willing to sign the car over to us by making us repurchase it for 3k more than what was owed as well as they were planning to sign my mother in laws name on the title after she had passed away to sign the car over to us. They also ran my boyfriends credit to see what kind of vehicle they could get him approved for incase we decided to trade it In. This was a hard hit to his credit as they tried multiple banks for a loan. The whole buy here pay here thing Is a joke they would rather go through a bank than finance the car themselves. We had them do some Warranty work in the mean time, they had to car for over a week we paid the deductible and we got the car back. The issues we told them about were never fixed or addressed, the control arm needed to be replaced as well as it had a terrible oil leak/burned oil. It still made horrible squeaking and clicking sounds and we turned and we needed to constantly put more oil in it. They were supposed to have the car for a few days and ended up always having excuses for it not being done and they had it for over 2 weeks. After we got the car back before they would sign it over they told us it needed to be inspected and insured- we got that done the next day. We had already set up auto pay and gave them all the information they needed as well as gave them the title they claimed they needed to sell us the car. Weeks went by and we would not get in touch about signing it over to ourselves- we finally were able to speak to someone different and they tried to help us. We looked at another vehicle they had just gotten in, a truck that was $19,999. They told us they would do anything possible to get us in the truck since we had a great payment history with them. As well as told us they would give us $5500 trade in for the vehicle we still had that only had about 4k left on the loan. They gave us a 45 day temporary registration since they were closing until the following Wednesday and it was Friday. After we left once again they ran my boyfriends credit for 4 different banks looking for a loan. This again screwed up his credit since it was the second time in a few months he had multiple hard inquiry's on his credit report. The loan they got us was way out of the budget we had discussed so it was not doable. We got a call later that night saying they wanted the car back since it was their liability since the car was not in our name although this was the second time we tried to get the car in our name or trade it in. After about 2 weeks of going back and fourth with them they kept telling us they would work with us and never did- They ended up taking the car back although we paid over $11k towards it. They refused to sign the loan over to us or let us get the car registered in our names. Absolutely shady business practices- openly talking about forging my mothers in laws name on the title to sign it over- trying to resell the car to us to make more money instead of transferring the loan, just giving a 45 day registration tag they printed without making a copy or anything to make it legitimate, forcing us to buy the warranty and not fixing a single issue that should Have been covered ETC. Also they all lie to your face saying they are the owner or co owner when they are not, promising to work with you all while screwing you over every step of the way. It's a sad world we live in that these are common business practices.

Anytime I called for a tow, Angel's prices have always beaten anyone else's. Sometimes by a lot. Most places charge a minimum of $200 these days regardless of how close you need them to go. I've never known Angel not to give you the price before he goes to pick it up so don't say yes and argue later. Perhaps if you know you don't have the money right then he could work with you but don't be a jerk and then expect favors. My experience has always been fair, pleasant, professional, and quick. It just makes me so mad when entitled people who don't get their way and don't get over on someone then go on a review platform to bash a business or a person's name. Just as there was no misunderstanding of the name I was given as to whom I was doing business with. I cleared that myself and my grandchildren would be meeting the tow truck back at my home where the vehicle was being towed to. The scruffy looking person who accompanied Steve/Michael in the tow truck that he says was a "trainee" never moved from the truck to do anything or observe how anything was done. He simply sat in the truck glaring at me as I questioned the "owner" about his deceptive practices. Is that how you train a trainee? From my standpoint, his presence served no positive purpose.
