I'm not usually the one to type up a review but I felt the need to do so after what I would consider, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My wife and I visited LL Flooring in Burnsville, MN. We had a very positive experience while visiting the store. We decided to proceed with a flooring project for our basement. We engage LL Flooring to install the flooring as they're the "experts". The "experts" arrived to install the flooring and by noon had walked off the job stating that the flooring was defective. Not only was it not defective, but they also started by installing the flooring in the middle of the room. I couldn't get another installation crew out for several days. It was also my responsibility to submit a service ticket, take picture of the defective flooring, and then work with LL Flooring customer support. I did this and didn't hear back till the following week and when I finally spoke with the customer service representative, she said that they don't have an SLA and that it's totally acceptable to respond back in that time frame. I cancelled the installation, installed it myself (with no issues and I'm not an expert installer by any means) and for the entire inconvenience of this project I was offered $150 credit. There's a lot more I could elaborate on regarding the poor customer service and experience my wife and I had but I hope that anyone who reads this reconsiders utilizing LL Flooring for installation. They're subcontractors, not LL Flooring employees, who care very little about your experience. This is from their website. I mentioned this to the customer relationship manager who I worked with. She said that they don't need to do anything and that she can send me a copy of the contract. Does this sound like it matches what they have on their website for their company values? Poor quality flooring, first and only purchase from LL turns out to be under a class action lawsuit https://msstrandbamboo.com/. I purchased the flooring in 2014 from LL in Burnsville and when I noticed the flooring was swelling and cracking I opened a warranty claim in 2016 which I was declined. Its clearly defective with some boards flat and smooth, as others have ripples and cracking. Flooring was laid in my den that is climate controlled and rarely used. LL has also had issues with formaldehyde in their flooring. They don't care about the health of their customers, and as with the class action, I was correct about my flooring being defective. read more

Turns out I'm not independently wealthy. I know. It was a shock to me too. I had planned on a real hardwood floor for my recently remodeled attic room. Then I got a bid or two. Then I reviewed my list of Christmas gifts to buy. Then I googled "cheap flooring." Lumber Liquidators popped right up. I bundled up my right hand toddler assistant and drove down to Burnsville. I picked out a click floor with the liner already attached. The sales guy was ultra helpful and kind. They didn't have my flooring in stock, but he found it at another store and off I went. I'm not saying installing the floor was a complete breeze, but it's do able for a homeowner with no experience, plus one father in law with some experience. My floor was around $350 for a 300 square foot room. Even though I hope to eventually put in a hardwood floor, this will do for now. It's pretty, easy to clean and we still got to have Christmas. ;) read more

Our LL Flooring is installed and looks great. Installers did a good job - 600 sq.ft. of vinyl plank installed in a family room, 3 stairs, hallway, bedroom, mudroom, in 1 day. Quote was almost right on because we didn't know what was actually lurking under the carpet and linoleum that was being torn up (had to buy some additional vapor barrier that was not expected and had to do some grinding of the slab to level out before installation). Neither of those things broke the bank (but were an additional charge). We had to have patience with supply chain issues, but eventually everything resolved. We were not in a huge rush, so it all worked out. The flooring is beautiful and installation crew very courteous and helpful. read more

We went in for a quote. Salesman never got up. I suppose they let people look around. It should have been my que. It's $25 to get a quote, the flooring comes in all prices and depths, and samples are inlaid in the show floor. The installer came and told us what we needed and we should hear back in 24-48 hours. More like 5 days. The quote included things never discussed; two different stories on doing our stairs. Installer said prefab; store included building stairs from scratch. About $800 for 4 stairs. Installer said no transitions, they charged for three. Furniture move $1200 including appliances. Revised it to $1000. The quote was 27 items long and coded so you do not know. You have to ask what it means. They said we could pickup our product - no delivery offered until asked. $150 for a drop, $235 to cross a threshold. Installer said baseboards do not need to come off; they charged to remove them and reattach. They will disconnect plumbing, dryer, washer, fridge but will not reconnect. You have to return your own over stock. You have to pay all up front and then when the installer is done you can go through and check off what was not done to get a credit. I bet that is a fight. They do not pay installer until you sign off. I could see a lien coming in our home. $8600 for 4 rooms of laminate at $2.27. Hall and bath. We moved on to another source who shows up with swatches, does the deal on a tablet and you pay 50% down;and I had a sick feeling it was about to get complicated with Lumber Liquidators. The moral of the story; cheap flooring- expensive install Contradicting information from store after installer left and padding bill. For $8600 I get to haul my product.no thank you. read more

I was charged over $14,000.00 for flooring from LL Flooring and installation with RW Flooring/Tammarak Remodels. I was told that the balance had to be paid in full before they could start any work. I paid. I waited almost three months for installation. The first day of installation they showed and began removing my previous flooring. The person in charge called me down and said that he was going to have to make an adjustment to my installation. I asked him how much was the adjustment going to cost. He said that he didn't know that LL Flooring set the prices and that they would call me soon with the additional amount. Shortly after I get call from LL Flooring telling me that it was going to cost an additional over $900. I asked for an explanation of what was needed to be done and the itemized price for each thing. The representative said he didn't know that he would have to call the installer and would call me back and that he could not allow the installers to continue anymore work until this new balance was paid. I shocked by this considering I had already prepaid over$14000. I waited for about 30-40min with no call back. I went down to talk to the installer to ask him the same question. He repeated that LL Flooring sets the prices. I then explained what I was told by the LL Flooring rep and asked him what he himself was charging me. He finally gave me a price that was over $200 less than what I was quoted by LL Flooring. He then also said that they could not continue anymore work until he got the ok from the rep. After 2hrs I had not received a call back from the rep. I called and spoke to another rep and explained that I just wanted to know what I was being charged for and why I was being charged an extra fee. They also said they would have to call the installer and then call me back. By this time the installers had left my house. Leaving my house unlocked , my closet doors and other materials outside. After 3 hours I finally got a call from a rep at the Burnsville store. He explained that he was calling to answer my questions. He explained the adjustment and balance due which was also a lower price than I was first quoted. He didn't know why the first person quoted me that amount and didn't know who that person was. But preceded to tell me that now the balance of over $700 had to be paid before the installers could return to my house or I could return some materials that were no longer needed, since the adjustments were made. Then not only would I not have a balance but I would be owed a credit. This made absolutely no sense to me! So I went through all of this stress when I really didn't have a balance at all if only someone had adjusted the order in the system. Now, I was told that it was my responsibility to return all the materials that weren't needed before he would send the installers back to my house. So, I myself had to pack my car with 8 rolls of padding and drive 40min to Burnsville from Minneapolis. When I got there the rep took the materials and then gave me materials to take back for the installers to use for the adjusted services. I was livid! I couldn't believe how I was being treated after spending so much money with the company. No apologies or anything. I return home to find that the installers had returned while I was gone finished removing my old floor and then left again. Finally, two days later the installers from RW flooring/Tammarak Remodels finished my floors. I will say the floors looked good, but they left glue all over the floors and two days later I am still trying to remove glue from my brand new floors. I wasn't going to leave a review but after scrubbing my floors for two days I need to let people know what I've experienced. I would not use this company again or advise anyone else to. read more

Lumber Liquidators gets a 2 star for their handling of my wife and I. But Gary Curtis gets 5 stars for how he handled our plights. We will shop there again if Gary is our guy. But it wasn't easy, our flooring was back ordered for months but we went forward anyways. 6 weeks into the back ordered floor's arrival date, Lumber Liquidators discontinued our flooring and cancelled our order. But thankfully Gary got us a better flooring for the same price with a quicker arrival date. Once we got our flooring, it was discovered that the corporate office, while price matching the discontinued floor, didn't order one box to cover the 5% of waste that happens during installation. Gary swooped into action again. He found a box of our floor at a store in Iowa. He had it overnight shipped fedex just in time as our installers needed it. One more problem though: our custom ordered grill was back ordered too. But Gary gave us one to use until ours arrived so the intstallers were able to cut it in and move on. Thanks Gary. Attention Lumber Liquidators, you could use more problem-solvers like Gary Curtis from the Burnsville, MN (store #1322) Oh and Sage Flooring from the Chanhassen, Mn area handled our install. They were precise, timely, and professional. We did not sign these guys up through Lumber Liquidators. read more

I went in there today to see what they had in the way of stair nosing to trim out the edges of my flooring at my stairwell. I had been let down big time by a big box store and honestly hadn't thought of going to Lumber Liquidators until this point. I was promptly greeted and shown to the selection they had. Not only did they have a near perfect match, but they also had stair treads on clearance that might also work perfectly! I couldn't be happier! read more

Tom and Dave were in an extreme hurry to help us not buy and they locked the door immediately as we left, except we were ready to BUY and had no other free time to get there. Tom said they had spent over an hour taking down the sale prices for Cyber Monday yet it was still Monday and we had an hour before closing. Our experience with Lumber Liquidators was all around amazing. We worked with James at the Burnsville store who went out of his way to get us the wood that we wanted by the date we wanted (not an easy task). Not only did he blow our expectations out of the water but the install crew was amazing!! They finished in 3 days, we were expecting 5. We were short a few boxes of wood. James was already on it when I called him. Can't say enough good things. Out of all the updates my husband and I have done to our first home over the last 18 months, our hardwood experience (the most awaited update) was the least stressful. The customer service here has been excellent! Our installer under-estimated the amount of hardwood floors we needed, and he informed me that they needed two more boxes. I called this Lumber Liquidators location (Burnsville MN) and spoke to Gary. Gary informed me that there were only two boxes left of my floor in the entire country! One box was already at the store but the other box was hours away at another store. I was devastated, but Gary came through for me! Within minutes, he found a way to arrange for the box to be delivered to the store that night. I couldn't be more grateful to him! Top-notch service! read more

Went online to compare floor prices for laminate flooring. Found a very competitive price at Lumber Liquidators. At the store we were treated very well. Gary C. took the time answer all our questions. The price at the store reflected a price that was good thru 7/7, the price was lower than the online price. They honored the store price allowing us a substantial saving. read more
