I was at the Matthews store to purchase carpet in my home, this was my 3rd carpet store with me comparing prices on carpet. I was set to use this company I had the same carpet along with padding no different except price. I was set to get it installed with the saving of a couple hundred bucks, I asked an employee what appeared to be a manager about military discounts which at this time I was informed yes they honor military discounts but, not on carpet only on flooring I gasped for air with this reply. I was appalled I suffer from serious disability from the military. So I decided to purchase from the store that did honor my service to America. I consider this poor customer service. read more

10/10 - Knowledgeable, Friendly, Problem Solvers and Outstanding Customer Service! Highly Recommend! My husband and I are first-time homeowners and we could not wait to put our personal touches on something that is finally ours after years of renting and countless hours of watching HGTV. I have been dreaming about herringbone floors since I could remember and scoured the internet for the ones that would work best for our family. I came across a couple of options from several different stores. My husband and I were wanting the floors to be done before we moved in and only had 30 days to make it happen before our lease was up. We put together a list of questions/concerns before we made our rounds. We went to 3 different places and Tiffany from LLflooring was by far the most knowledgeable and was literally the only one to answer all of our questions directly. After we purchased the floor, we were put in touch with Allan during the delivery process. He was absolutely fantastic to work with, he kept us in the loop with each step along the way. The installers from Rays were also absolutely amazing! We had them booked for 4 days (double the time) due to the herringbone pattern. They showed up on time and were ready to work. The downstairs went off without a hitch and we could not be more excited for them to start the upstairs. Our entire upstairs was carpet and since we have a dog that sheds a lot and my husband has bad allergies we decided that it was best to have it removed as well. My dad always told us that until the carpet is removed you have no idea what is waiting there for you. He was right on this one... ¾ of the way through day 2 they asked me to come upstairs to show me something. With all of the carpet gone, the entire subfloor was not up to par for the flooring we had chosen. The subfloor was slightly uneven and the herringbone flooring had absolutely 0 give, so if they were to install that floor, it would break in half over time. It was highly recommended that the herringbone floor not be installed. The options were to replace the subflooring (which they don't do, roughly estimated an extra 10K), find a new replacement flooring that day, move forward with installing the herringbone floor knowing it would not last long or move in without a floor. I called Allan to see what our options were and the best way to problem-solve this. We quickly started going over other flooring options that he had in stock with the square footage that we needed and that also could be delivered by tomorrow morning. Luckily we had another sample here that my husband and I also liked and he had it in stock! Within two hours, the new flooring was delivered. Allan even called us back to remind us that we needed transitional pieces since we only had them for the other floor. He was even kind enough to personally drop them off after work. Rays installers did not miss a beat, they continued on with their schedule, even finished a day early! I could not recommend LLFlooring enough! We were able to move into our new home with our beautiful new floors because of the amazing teamwork and communication with LL Flooring and Rays! We can not thank you all enough! read more

I walked into this location back in June and made a purchase of nice 3/4" teak flooring for about 2000 square feet of a new residence. The sales guys and manager were tops, hard core sales guys working to close the deal. I'd hire the manager, he was just that good at closing the deal. These guys told me it would take 90 days to receive the product as it was in high demand (seemed plausible, it's teak and a bunch of it) and I warned them it might take me up to a month longer to take delivery if things didnt move along on my project. They had no issue of course and showed me their policies in writing on that topic. Next we moved to their installation services, where I got the square footage from.. I asked plainly, what happens if you're over by more than a couple boxes of product.. No problem, at worst if its over 30 days we may have to charge you a 20% restock fee (also in writing). Jump forward 30 days.. I start to receive calls that the order is in... The guy calling is new, seems the manager has been fired when I ask to talk to the guys I worked with.. I warn them I am at least 45 days out from being able to install. One week later, more calls.. I remind them again.. I'm a ways out. At the end of the month a fellow named Adam rings up and is very terse. He goes on and on about how they are not a warehouse, and that if I couldnt take delivery, he'd have to sell the product on to another customer.. Ok fair.. Right? Not really, I full prepaid this order to get the best deal out of the sales guy! (I used my Amex.. so not worried about a refund/risk on the purchase) This guy STILL insists he's selling the product if I dont take delivery, until I outright direct him to do so -- and ask when my refund would be forthcoming. That shuts him down. Delivery occurs shortly after. And installation is scheduled... But.. Their installer can't install for 4 weeks due to the product needing to aclimate to the delivery environment.. Ok, that makes sense.. Installation goes off without a hitch. Good install no problems.. But.. Theres 12.. yes, 12.. boxes of product left! This is nearly 400 square feet of material. So, I call the store, and ask for help -- just like the policy and original manager said I could. It was, afterall their installer so surely things will go well here right? Adam answers. The same fellow that called me on the delivery. I give him the details, he's clearly very rushed and frustrated once I mentioned the word refund (ok, understandable), he jumps in immediately and tells me about the order.. how long they had it .. and I again ask for help.. I recount the policy in writing, 30 days or 20% on approved refund. He emphasizes approved. I ask for some kind of help, anything you can do.. The guys told me one thing you are telling me another and ask if theres a manager tehre that can help me out.. He is the manager! He begins to yell, and goes into how people that sold me the product are no longer there for just this reason, breaking corporate policy, and that it is my problem or the installers problem! I reminded him he booked the installer... and its under their brand. I did place a call to the corporate headquarters on this which, after a few weeks of back and forth, simply requested return approval back from the same guy that was representing their brand in a less than stellar way. Buyer beware. What you see in the marketing and sadly, what is represented when you buy from the people at the counter, is not necessarily the result you may receive. At least I did receive quality product, a respectable installation, but as a result of the overage in product I did pay substantially more than the independant local company I quoted would have charged - for product milled in the US. So.. To sum up.. I paid more for the total install, for "Virgina Mills" product that is in fact milled in China, and am stuck with several hundred pounds of material I have no use for. read more

Stopped in on Labor Day to get pricing for a remodel. Was greeted promptly since the store was empty, but he never intoduced himself to us. I told the person what I needed then listened to a 5 minute sales pitch on everything but what I wanted. I asked to show me the flooring I was interested in buying (solid red oak, 3/8" x 2-1/4" . . . see, even you know it now); instead, he took me to the bamboo section yadda, yadda, yadda. Then he left, disappeared into a backroom never to return. So, I guess I won't either. read more

I'm giving this many stars to the customer service rep who assisted me on a return. Matt did not just make himself available to assist, he did it so willingly and smoothly. Very courteous and humble. Returns are never fun, I'm sure, especially when having to unload 40 laminate boxes, but never did he make us feel awful. I would recommend doing business here and asking for him. Super awesome guy. These money hungry criminals stole my elderly fathers $$$ & NEVER SHOWED UP FOR THE JOB. 3 WEEKS AFTER, I HAD 2 CALL THEM ON HIS BEHALF 2 INQUIRE ON WHERE THE HECK WAS OUR SERVICE/PRODUCT/MONEY. NO ANSWERS. I immediately requested a full refund. This is by far the most unprofessional, unresponsive & unethical flooring ripoff company. Do yourself a favor & go 2 Lowes. The installation was great. The flooring had a sale price but the labor was an issue. They only sent one person to do all the work. Enough for two to get done in one day. If immigration is a an issue with you, I did not want to ask if the worker was in the country legally. I suspect not .when he cleaned up the sawdust outside my car and landscaping got covered. It was an issue. Unforeseen expend to correct both. but the flooring looks good and the wife mostly happy after I correct the exterior issues. read more

Don't use their installer excel! They stained my stairs an incorrect color and was not noticed until after installation and they were paid. Their response you can get a kit at lowes for 60 and stain it yourself. I couldn't make that up if I tried. read more

Store is understaffed and probably a corporate issue on hiring practices, so it can be hard to talk to someone from time to time, but it's usually 15 minute or less wait. I have noticed the other reviews and it seems the higher ups could provide the store with adequate staffing, as they do have good economical flooring solutions in every category of flooring. This is why I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 because the savings in price are worth a 15 minute wait to me. read more

We went to LL 2 weeks ago to pick out flooring. Sean was super friendly and told us everything we needed to know to choose the hardwoods that would best suit our needs. In a matter of minutes we selected the flooring. He immediately called their guy to make an appt for us to get an in home estimate first thing Monday morning. Everything went as planned Monday and we ordered the floor and products needed for install. We just picked up our flooring this morning and all is good! Pretty easy process and very friendly, knowledgeable customer service!! We are doing our own install so can't speak to the install services. But the customer service we received from LL was awesome!! I stopped into the store to view the products first hand as I am in the information gathering phase of my project. The staff was tied up with other customers but let me know someone would be with me shortly. This gave me the space to look at the products and think of the questions I needed to have answered. It was a short time until someone was free to assist and he could not have been nicer, knowledgeable and eager to help. The word "lumber" in the name told me that this store was for wood flooring only. That's what I needed. There were a lot of choices. The staff was very helpful in telling me the advantages and disadvantages of the different woods and flooring types. The prices were about average but the selection was much larger than Lowes and Home Depot. I chose my flooring and installed it. I am very pleased with the results. read more
