Actually 6+ STARS!! A tremendously fabulous and unique experience! I will never go back to Cartier, Van Clef & Arpels and Tiffany etc... As my future wife told me about LL for our wedding bands last year I had some doubts as I used to shop in boutiques like Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier in Paris (I am from Paris) but my wife was not aware of this. For our wedding bands, my wife checked many hours on internet, in books and stores in Canada and in the US (where she travels a lot) and I made the same in Zürich/ Switzerland (I used to live in Switzerland before I moved to Canada) and in Paris/ France. We then decided on a very specific style for her wedding band. However we knew at that point that in order to make her wedding band with this specific pattern really looking good, this will need a lot of work AND a lot of skills. For my wedding band we decided to have a very simple wedding band but to add also some very specific properties. So the challenges were known from us. We then visited Monika and Joe and since that date we have been just amazed about their work, their skills, their personality, their knowledges etc....a real amazing experience for us. Certainly something very essential when we speak about wedding bands. And as we both have been married before, we wanted to have something different than just a "normal" wedding band from Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier or Tiffany that so many have. And I wanted to have a superior quality compared to the regular shops like Cartier or Tiffany (I personally think that Van Clef & Arpels has an excellent quality but its pricing for the nice pieces is sometimes just quite insane...) Monika and Joe gave us this opportunity. Thanks again! We have been able to discuss all possible points and details about the wedding bands with them. We could decide on so many details. And also on so many details that we were not aware of (and you will never be aware when you visit a normal jewelry store). And on so many details that you cannot see from the outside. We also have been able to see the process of their creation and production steps by steps! Working with them gave us some insight on how complicated this work is. Nothing to compare with the sometime insane prices from some other famous jewelry shops (either a very quality with an insane pricing or an average quality for an expensive price tag). So I then decided to have made from Monika and Joe some nice diamond earrings for my wife also. Here also we have been able to decide with them and their expertise on the quality and properties of the gold, the diamonds, the attachment, etc...And I can tell you as a man: their really look good! nothing to compare with the diamond earrings of some famous jewelry shops. My wife wear these now everyday since we Monika and Joe produces it. And I really enjoy seeing these on my wife every day! My experience with LL Private Jewelry has been very positive. I went there to have re-sized 3 rings and also I needed an independent appraisal on a custom made ring. It took them 24 hours to get it done: they re-sized my rings (they did a very good job resizing them), one of them I think was acid washed and polished because it looked like new ( I didn't ask them to do it), and they gave me their appraisal. It cost me $120 ($40 for three rings). There was no fee for appraisal as I didn't ask for a formal one (I guess on paper). The customer service was good as well. Monica was very friendly and very helpful. And patient. I guess I looked little bit paranoid ( I had never done before) leaving my rings (with diamonds :-) ) so when I asked her to email me a photo (as I understood they always take photos of all peaces of jewelry they take for repair) of my rings as another confirmation in addition to the invoice - she didn't mind. Furthermore, she texted me next day when the rings were ready for pick up even though I didn't ask her. And when I showed up to pick them up there was the master, ready to adjust my rings more right away if they were not perfect. With no fee. We give LL Private Jewellers 5 STARS! Fabulous service, very friendly and HONEST. It was great to have a female and male set of eyes on our custom work. My fiancee and I LOVE my engagement ring - it is very unique and they brought my personality and vision to life! We did not feel pressured to buy "bigger" stones, or to do something less complicated and they found us a lovely champagne (or called cognac) diamond that we wanted instead of the classic white. My ring embodies my personality, and LL Private Jewellers got that right away, and could see how it fit with my personality (nature girl, eco-concious etc). It is a vine with 2 asymmetrical leaves, 2 small flowers (1 on bottom of band for me to see!) and flower buds, with a centre stone, lots of engraving and detail, all set in rose gold. We loved that we were kept in the loop the whole time with photos of each stage sent to us. We are excited to use their exceptional services again for our wedding bands. Monika and Joe treated us more like old friends rather than clients, which made the whole experience comfortable and pleasant. I cannot express how fortunate I was to come across this wonderful company. Prior to working with them, I had spent several months trying to find the right ring. These people are nothing short of INCREDIBLE. If you have jewelry making needs, simply look no further. I have never been so happy with a service, in my entire life. I brought some diamonds in an old ring in order to have them transformed into a new ring, as a memorial for someone in my family who died, and Joe and Monica were beyond helpful from the first to the last stage! I highly recommend working with LL Private Jewellers. Monika is a professional businesswoman who listens carefully to a person's needs regarding jewellery. I have an heirloom ring that I wanted preserved, repaired and the central stone replaced. Several other jewellers had quoted work, but all of the work would have significantly changed the antique look of the ring, which I did not want to have happen. Monika listened to what I wanted done to the ring. We then visited the gemstone technician with whom she works so that he could provide an accurate description of the stones I was leaving with her. This data (cut, clarity, size of diamonds) were meticulously recorded on my receipt. When I picked up my ring, I was amazed at the high quality of workmanship. My ring looks exactly as I had hoped it would. I have since taken another ring to her into which a gemstone will be added. They worked with me to come up with a design and showed me how they would go about making it. I recently brought a vintage platinum and diamond band in for resizing by LL Private Jewellers. My ring (though lovely) was not finished particularly well on the inside. Joe turned my ring into an absolute beauty! He sized it perfectly, and in addition, he smoothed out the inside of the ring and made it "comfort fit." He polished it, and also adjusted a couple of minor imperfections left behind by the ring's original manufacturer. It is stunning and I wear it with pride. I had an engagement ring that I wanted converted into a wedding band i.e. have the prongs removed and rebuild the ring into a beautiful band. When seeking jewellers who were capable and willing to do this, 2 jewellers turned me away. When I went to LL Private Jewellers, I was treated with respect, given a great price and I was able to talk to the goldsmith directly to get the exact wedding band I imagined. Monica reviewed my items by emails and set me up for appointment in Gemologist's office safely with Jackson Jewellery Appraisal. I also brought with me some jewelries received as gifts but don't know the value. The Gemologist is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions patiently. I am in love with my engagement ring! I wanted to use my mum's diamond from her engagement ring but a new setting. We had a consultation on Friday and I was able to get my new setting the following Friday. It is beautiful!
