I brought my Victorinox watch (not a super expensive watch but my watch) to Rodan to get the battery replaced (I knew the battery was low because the 2nd hand began moving in a larger time duration than 1 second). A short while later i received a phone call from Rodan saying they had replaced the battery but the watch did not work. They recommended sending it to their repair person for an estimate which I agreed to. The estimate was $350 so I declined. I took the watch to "The German Watchmaker" on Homer street. He opened the watch and stated that the person who replaced the battery broke the fine wire on the coil (located right next to the battery port). The German Watchmaker repaired the broken wire and put in a battery I had purchased. The watch now works perfectly. The repair cost $30 plus tax. I brought the invoice to Rodan and explained what the German Watchmaker had said. They refused to reimburse me for the repair. This business is disreputable and disappointing. This store is awesome! I still can't believe the amazing customer service provided by Rodan. In particular, Mitchell drove all the way out to Surrey to pick up some items from the store's old Guilford location because they were out of stock at the Brentwood mall location. Every time I came in, I sought out Sergey's service - he's fantastic to work with! Very good product knowledge and doesn't upsell, just purely informative (I like this). He also has this gentle kind demeanor that we like. Now that our items are purchased, we sometimes pop in to get my ring cleaned and they always do so with no questions asked. I love how blingy and sparkly my ring looks after this so I'm always trying to head out to visit Rodan! Their customer service here is amazing and they offer free rhodium plating once a year if you buy rings with a diamond and white gold; they also clean your jewelry purchased with them whenever you're in - amazing! Lastly, if you come in twice a year to get your ring inspected (save your receipts as proof!), if you ever lose a small diamond melee (for example from your band), they'll replace it for free! I originally went to Rodan to view the Tacori rings however due to a financial setback we decided to wait another year. We wanted to upgrade my wife's original engagement ring from a 4 piece tandem solitaire into a single stone. I was later given the option to modify my original ring by making two sets of diamond earrings with the 4 centre stones and adding a 1.5 c center stone to the ring. At first I couldn't picture what it would look like but it turned out amazing! The staff was wonderful and very considering with my budget. There was a price discrepancy from the original quote and they agreed to withhold the price with little adjustment. The earrings look amazing. When I entered this shiny, sparkly new location the three staff I noted all seemed to be helping customers so I patiently stood quietly near the Pandora section (because I had to size up my recently received gift). Not only did the black sweater non-name tag gal not acknowledge me at any point (a "hi be right with you" would have minimally been appreciated) but at no time during the 10-15 minute wait did she look my way (I was literally standing right beside her). In the meantime sales person #2 smiled at me while waiting on someone else, promising that I be helped soon (yay I AM alive-not invisible). Then while #2 took her customer to the cash register, kind young "Mitchell" asked if I'd been helped. And it was #2 and his help that will have me returning again for sure. I chose to go to Rodan because they gave me the cheapest estimate to get a sterling silver ring resized. Their customer service is excellent don't get me wrong, but when they actually got to resizing it, I was told it would cost a total of $80 because they needed to round the band and plate it with rhodium or it would "look bad". So the day i picked it up the associate kept insuring me that they did a wonderful job... but after going home and inspecting it further, I could totally see where they "fused" it back together and the fuse was slightly raised and rough! Even the plating couldn't hide where they rounded down the metal. Seriously over priced. Awful craftsmanship. I don't recommend. read more

I have been wanting to re-set my engagement ring for the longest time. Seeing that I had previous re-set another ring and had studs made with Mitchell, I decided to go back to Rodan to see what ideas they may have for my engagement ring. I have a beautiful 1.21 CT, D color, Excellent cut center stone and felt that the setting it was on did not do it justice. When I went in, I had to pleasure of meeting Rob, Mitchell's father. The timing could not have been better as he had just had a vision of a setting he wanted to do but had no ring to execute the design on. After bouncing ideas between Rob and Mitchell I had a design I had pictured and was pleased with. From the process of sketching, to the CAD, to the wax model of the ring, they were professional and walked me through each step. Once I had the wax of the ring (in its' plain state with no center stone or pave work) I could picture what the ring will look like and was super excited for it to be finished. Let me tell you, the day Mitchell called to say the ring was ready, it was like Christmas day! When he finally presented the ring I was completely SPEECHLESS ( which doesn't happen often)!!!!! This ring completely blew all my expectations out of the water. My center stone popped like crazy and the craftmanship on the ring was spectacular!!!! I could not have imagined that this is MY ring. To say the least, I highly recommend going to Rodan to see the Davidson family! I can't wait to work with them again in the near future!
