Place was a vibe, had a live dj. We had the matcha and breakfast burrito. Beautiful Tulum style aesthetic. Service was surprisingly fast for how busy it was and staff was really friendly. Seemed like a great place to go with friends to eat and even play some card games. Next time want to try the cookie butter drink that seemed really popular.
I came for the coffee, the private event, and to try the banana cream matcha--but ended up leaving with new friends. Such a great experience! Even with the long lines, the staff did an amazing job getting orders out quickly and keeping things moving. The banana cream matcha was delicious--definitely worth the hype. My new friends ordered cocktails and loved them so much, they went back for two more rounds . The café itself is super cute, with plenty of seating for a regular day. I'll definitely be back!
Llamabar is one of my favorite cafes to work from during the day. The music playlist always perfection, so you'll find yourself (quickly) signing along to most of the songs while working if you're a music lover. The service is always top tier although the last few times that I've been to the cafe, staff could be more attentive to cleanliness of the place.My favorite meal is the Crabby Patty BLT which comes with a side salad, and a bag of chips (if the server reminds you to grab the chips). Overall, Llama Bar is worth the visit if you're looking for a quick meal and/or coffee/matcha. Also, a great metro accessible location to work in the Navy Yard with ample lightening and decent seating.
A cute dog-friendly cafe in Navy Yard with great potential. Unfortunately, the drinks and food have been underwhelming for me. The first time I came I ordered one of their fall seasonal drinks - a pumpkin cream chai latte. Maybe it was just too many different flavors, but all I could taste was syrup with a little hint of pumpkin. I came back last week to try their sweet potato and quinoa bowl and their banana matcha drink. Again, the drink was entirely too sweet and the banana was too overpowering. The breakfast bowl came with an overwhelming amount of sweet potato tots and it felt like I ordered a side of those instead of an actual dish. Would I come back? Absolutely not. While I love the space and the service has been great and friendly both times, the food and drinks are not worth coming back for.
Great place for breakfast or a casual brunch in a beautiful space! The green elixir smoothie (spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, banana and fresh ginger) is my go-to for a healthy and delicious starter. The French toast is a carb lover's delight! I enjoyed it during my last visit minus the bananas, which were too mushy for my liking. The dish is large enough for two people. This place occasionally hosts morning dj parties. This means great music, lots of people, and of course a longer wait time for your order. It's a fun vibe, but if you're not into crowds, it might be best to go on a regular day.
This is a new-ish cafe that I found in DC. For a weekend morning, it was interesting to see a DJ playing and the space being more busy than usual. My friend and I had an easy time ordering, but we found it hard to hear each other inside. I ordered the banana matcha latte, which was more expensive than the usual prices I see within the DMV. I wouldn't say this latte was mind blowing, but it was better than average. I probably won't rush back here anytime, but it's nice to try another cafe in my area.
The drinks are yummy, food is good and service is even better. I had the brown sugar shaken espresso, if you like sweet I'd try something else or add cold foam. My boyfriend had the strawberry and cream matcha, it was very good! To eat, we split the waygu chopped cheese and this was a hit. Even better than expected. The brunette girl behind the counter was so sweet and helpful. Definitely a great little local cafe!
What a lovely time! I stopped in here one morning after running some early morning errands in DC and wanting to stop for a quick coffee. Sadly I didn't have a lot of time to try other things on their menu but what I did have was delicious and everything I saw being ordered smelled and looked delicious as well. The vibe of the whole place was very calming and refreshing with lots of plants, natural light and great music! It was definitely a great place to read a book or get some work done. The employees were attentive and the food was brought out fairly quickly. I have heard they do events there but haven't gotten the chance to attend one yet, but I will definitely be back soon to try for my food and hopefully as well!

First here and I LOVEE the entire vibe . It's literally checked every box - hospitality , flavor , clean open seating . Everything about this place was inviting . I WILL be back. Cute cafe in navy yard right behind the bullpen. The space inside is gorgeous and well lit. You can come and work in peace while ordering different food and drinks. I ordered a classic blt and it was a big size and came with a salad and I also had the banana matcha latte which was good too. I would try something else the next time. I know that they also have a bar and service alcoholic drinks as well. Service was good. read more
Stopped in spontaneously on Saturday morning with a friend. Originally came in just for coffee, but we ended up also getting some food. I ordered the Iced Pistachio Latte - Espresso, pistachio, milk, ice, pistachio cold foam and the California Omelet- Egg whites, sauteed kale, mushrooms, avocado. She ordered the Llama Bowl - Organic fair trade acai, bananas, strawberries, 100% pineapple juice, granola, bananas, blueberries, strawberries and the Iced Mango Matcha Latte. Everything was delicious and there were several offerings for my friend who is gluten-free, which was a major plus. The service was great - answered all of our questions, offered suggestions, etc. The serving sizes were good size - I was pleasantly surprised the omelet came with potatoes and toast (there weren't pictures on Yelp yet - so happy I can add one)! There was also a selection of hot sauces to add to your meal too. Space was open with high ceilings and lots of natural light! Few tables to sit at our different bar spots. Llamabar is a vibe!! The seating is comfortable, the cafe Is spacious, the food is delicious! I had the cookie crumble late and to my surprised it was not overly sweet or overpriced. My friend and I received quick service. I can't wait to go again. read more
It's a nice big space with plenty of seats and nice big windows. I got a mocha and a breakfast burrito. The prices were on par with other places nearby. The food was underwhelming. The potatoes in my burrito were a bit undercooked and the salsa served with it wasn't my favorite and reminded me of just tomato sauce. Love llama bar! It's the perfect place to catch a fun vibe and get work done. There is a DJ on Saturdays from 11am-4pm during their cafe party. The food is delicious and the staff is personable! I had the crispy rice hot honey salad and it DID NOT disappoint The salad is fresh and packed with flavor! The salmon is moist and seasoned with spices to complement the hot honey dressing. Attended an event being held at the café and ordered a drink to support. The menu had some food items, coffee and tea drinks, as well as cocktails. I ended up going with the strawberry matcha. The first couple sips were good but then it just got really earthy. It's a really cute space overall. I saw a few people working on laptops. There was music playing but it wasn't too loud or overpowering. read more

Love the ambience of this cafe-- great place to work from if you need a change of scenery. I stopped by Llama Cafe on Saturday afternoon and it was packed. Good for groups of four or five max, otherwise it'd be very different to get seating together. First time I came, I ordered the iced cookie butter latte and Wagyu chopped cheese sandwich. I liked the latte, however, I do wish the cookie butter flavor was more apparent. The Wagyu chopped cheese good. The meat was juicy, but just average. It is a nice portion size so it was very filling. I stopped by another day to try the strawberries n' cream latte. This latte was a miss for me. The top strawberry foam tastes great but when you mix it into the coffee, the flavor begin to muddle and don't go well together. Overall, I like the cafe. The food seems average but interested in trying more items off the menu. read more

If you're like me and not the best at parallel parking (though I've improved!), you might want to prepare for a little maneuvering. Walking in, we were immediately greeted by the staff. The menu is posted on the wall near the register, but they also have paper menus and QR codes by the bar. A gentleman who seemed to be the manager noticed us scanning the menu and kindly brought one over, even offering my toddler some orange juice. It was a nice touch--very welcoming and attentive service. Ambiance & Aesthetic Llama Bar Café is modern, inviting, and effortlessly stylish. Here's what stood out: Earthy & Bohemian Vibes - Light wood tones, woven textures, and neutral colors create a warm and relaxed feel. The Llama Mural - A standout feature! A fashionable llama in sunglasses and a scarf adds a fun and quirky touch to the space. Varied Seating - Whether you want to lounge on a cushioned bench, sit at the bar, or enjoy a traditional café table, they've got options for everyone. Greenery & Warm Lighting - Potted plants, hanging vines, and soft lighting make the space feel both trendy and serene. Quiet & Chill Atmosphere - Unlike some places in DC that turn into full-blown social scenes, this spot is great for studying, working, or having a relaxed meal. Food & Drinks * Iced Matcha Latte ($7) - I ordered mine with oat milk (probably an upcharge, but hey, I wasn't paying today!). The matcha had a pure, earthy taste with a hint of sweetness--most likely from agave. I could've used a little more sweetness, but if you like traditional matcha, you'll enjoy it. * Wagyu Chopped Cheese ($16) - This was the highlight of the meal. The wagyu beef was well-seasoned, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The toppings were fresh, and the ratio of meat to fixings was just right. My boyfriend even said, "This is better than a Philly cheesesteak made in Philly." And as an Eagles fan who respects Philly, that says a lot! (Philly folks, don't come for us!) Pro Tip: If you're sharing the chopped cheese, ask for it to be cut. Final Thoughts * If you want a relaxed café experience, visit Sunday-Friday. * If you're looking for a more lively, social vibe, go on a Saturday. * If you're bringing a toddler, just know it's very quiet inside. While the staff was great with kids, I found myself whispering "inside voice!" more times than I'd like to admit. Don't sleep on Llamabar, a cafe inside a newer building in Navy Yard, but very close to Southwest Waterfront too. (It's one block the border between the two neighborhoods.) If you go, walk, don't drive as parking is harder to find. The inside is beautiful with a quirky llama mural inside, sleek furniture, and lots of natural light. The menu includes all day breakfast, sandwiches, pressed juice, coffee, and more. I ordered the "Llama Latte' that comes with vanilla syrup and cinnamon. It was good and comes in a fun cup! read more

This is a great spot that I made my WFH office for the day. The food is really good and they play a much better mix of music than most coffee shops. It's really convenient to navigate from the metro and the service was really fast and friendly. I know they throw day parties and I can't wait to go for that kind of vibe as well. Amazing cafe if you're looking for a hip cafe in Navy Yard. I went the day they had a DJ. The food came out quickly and the service was good since they were serving a large amount of guest. I would definitely go again especially if I want to get some work done at a local cafe. read more

They have a great variety of healthy food items, coffee and tea items as well as some alcoholic beverages. I saw a sign for an Espresso Martini. I ordered the salmon salad and an iced matcha oat milk latte. I was blown away by how good the salad was. The salmon was a bit overcooked to my liking, but it still had great flavor. The matcha was pretty typical. I would definitely return to try more menu items. I also saw on social media that they do social events and such which seems pretty cool. read more

My partner invited me to the perfect spot to have a study date. It was my first time here and immediately I saw how beautiful it was. It was skillfully decorated and cozy, but also a place where you could be productive. The music wasn't too loud and was a great playlist. Found a space to work. Wi-Fi was quick and strong. I got the Wagyu sandwich and it was absolutely amazing. The green juice sans banana was also delicious. The service was also quick, professional, and good vibes. Honestly, I usually do a lot of work at home, but I would come back here and have a productive day in the city anytime! read more

The new Llamabar Cafe was such a vibe! Upon entry, service is amazing. The barista helped me select a drink based on my coffee taste and it was SO good! The ambiance gave various vibes. You could drop in, have a work space for the day or a little brunch with friends. The music was R&B/Hip Hop and...it's black owned. Try it out! You won't be disappointed. read more
