Do not be on your phone when walking around and pay attention to your surroundings. I didn't notice a young western diamondback rattler in the bathroom with me until I sat down to do my business. Thankfully, the rattler stayed in his/her area but I feel a bit of my privacy was taken away. Thankfully, I could wash my hands and leave the restroom without a nasty bite and my husband rescued me and others by using a caution sign to move the snake outside.

The clerk named Destiny checked the ticket, received the payout stub and the exchange ticket that should have been returned to me. She took several minutes reading the slips that were output. So I am certain she was aware of each ticket's purpose. I asked her if there was confusion about what was output. She very rudely answered "No," she then proceeded to give me my $20 winnings but not the lottery exchange ticket (which for me was most valuable). When I ask where was my exchange ticket, she walked over, grabbed it and slammed it down on the counter with an attitude. SHE DEFINITELY INTENDED TO KEEP IT!

It's along Route 66 and with the Centennial celebration coming up soon, it was wonderful to be able to see this motel in its updated glory. The Roadrunner Lodge is considered mid-century modern. The room was nicely decorated and created the feel of going back in time. Very well kept with some nice updates, while staying true to the theme of a bygone era. Tucumcari was once considered a little Las Vegas because of all of its neon signs. A lot of the businesses have kept some of those neon signs alive, which makes it beautiful to drive through at night. The owner of the Roadrunner Lodge has a passion for keeping those neon signs lit and active in his community. There is not a coffee maker in the room, but there is a nice coffee station with breakfast treats in the front office in the morning. This was a fun and pleasant stay and I would recommend this motel, especially for anyone with nostalgia of Route 66.

I could have made the reservation a day + out and people would be parked there. I've seen driver's be told to move, they drive through the parking lot, and then park back in those spots. Or those rude driver's ask the driver's with reserve spots to move. If that doesn't work they physically break into your rig and move your tractor and trailer. People use to also steal gas from truckers here. Jerry's, night janitor, a good dude though.

I travel with a small collapsible wagon to bring things in for a stay. Then I was informed there is no elevator. Not that it was out of order, but the building does not have one. I had no other choice but to stay. Multiple trips were required to bring everything in including a cooler. The stairs closest to the entrance that was recommended to me were just raw metal. It was ironic that there was an accessible button for the door there. It did have an access to the first floor, but if someone checked in that needed accessibility and the first floor was sold out they would be out of luck. I was traveling with my daughter. We went down for breakfast in the morning, made our plates and headed back to our room. Breakfast was ok. My daughter liked that the New Mexico symbol was on her waffle. The staff was nice and there is plenty of parking.
