I've tried Lloyd far too many times to count, I'm a hotel regular due to work travel and have been for breakfast, bites, cocktails, dinner, and ordered to the room. It's a beautiful restaurant, they cover a wide area within the hotel, including a lounge area, a more cocktail bar area, and a full restaurant set up. The beauty? They cover anything you might want. The downside? They're busy and usually severely behind schedule. I've been with great, consistent staff and I've been and left after 20 minutes of no check in. It can be hit or miss, but when it hits? It hits. They also provide the food that you order up to your room, which is probably my favorite part. Hotels rarely offer the same great menu to your room and so I always know when I've had a long workday that I can just get the same great dinner and lounge in bed after and avoid people. They also are great at getting breakfast to your door early, which makes trips to Montreal so much easier, especially if you're going for work. They always have a great selection of drinks, full bar so they offer everything, and the bartenders has been the same for at least a couple years. They're really nice. They do a good job. Ask for the food, it is always good, and the part I love is that they're very good about allergies when you mention it to them. They offer gluten-free bread and they change out ingredients. I've never had a bad meal or snack. So even when sometimes the weight is too long I know I'll be back another day and I'll have something great. read more

I worked for 3 days and needed a quick place to eat for dinner and luckily there is a great restaurant just downstairs of the Marriott. The host was not on kind but informative. There is a bar in front with lounge style seating. It was eclectic and the music had a French twist. I ate lamb the first night and steak the night after. Both delicious but I liked the lamb better and the nioch was a nice touch. The thinly sliced fries with the steak was difficult to eat. The octopus was amazing and soft. Second time here. Staff were Awsome Tomahawk steak is highly recommended. I travel a lot and the hotel and restaurant are outstanding.

Went for breakfast, ordered from menu rather than buffet. Lox bagel was good. Service was good. There's nothing wrong with the place but it's average and I don't understand the 5 star reviews and the heaps of praise. I wouldn't go here if I hadn't stayed at the Marriott. The M Lounge at the Marriott was broken on the Sunday of our stay at the Marriott. So our choice was (i) hunt around Montreal on a cold Sunday morning for breakfast or (ii) eat Lloyd. We chose the path of least resistance. Hostess: slow Food: We ordered eggs Benedict. Waited 30 minutes and were served stone cold eggs. We sent them back instantly after taking one bite. No apologies by the staff, just excuses. Also, the potatos were way over salted. This is located inside the hotel. We ended eating at the hotel a couple of times just because it's so convenient. It has a nice bar area and a good selection of wines (lots of California wines). The food was also good. Lots of different options and even an prix fixe menu, if you're into that. Would definitely stay at this Marriott again and visit Lloyd again. read more

I've been passing by this restaurant for months and never had the time to stop by, so I was thrilled to finally be able to try it. The interior is gorgeous, the design is minimalist and the little alcoves are beautiful. During my time there, the service was very professional and courteous. Now the food, during lunchtime they have two options, 2 or 3 courses menu. I opted for 2 courses because it was a business meeting and I didn't have much time, but I'll definitely be back to try the other one. I ordered the cod which came with vegetables and potatoes, it was delicious! The seasoning was perfect. For dessert I picked an " éclair " with pistachio and strawberry, it was amazing! Had our Christmas brunch here, casual atmosphere, service was good, foods were fantastic. Brunch included lobster. Sashimi, shrimps, mussels, crabs, Beef Wellington, chicken, salmon, lamb chops, veal, Steak, assorted vegetables, cold cut meats, cheese, and countless desserts... You can also have bottomless mimosas for a flat fee of 40CAD. Just a note, they use good champagne for mimosas, and not pre-mixed. Price is on the $$$ side but worth it. When I booked this restaurant I didn't realize it was a hotel restaurant. The menu just looked good. While I wish the restaurant atmosphere was less hotel, the food was amazing. My photo of the beef ribs didn't do it justice. It was served directly from a small table side bbq. Service was friendly, but I feel that for the price, it could have been a bit more professional, i.e., pouring our wine when the glasses were empty. This restaurant is located within the Montréal Marriott Château Champlain hotel. This place was packed and we ate at the bar since there was no wait. I don't mind eating at the bar. The M Lounge had no food, so we came here. The menu is limited and the staff was really pushing the buffet, but I did not feel like the buffet. I ordered the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. I love eggs Benedict and I love smoked salmon. It took awhile to get our food, but no worries, we watched the news, drank our coffee from the M lounge and chatted with people nearby. Employees are all very nice. Our food arrived and my eggs and the sauce were stone cold. We requested for the food to be sent back. This is $26 and cold food not acceptable. The potatoes though were piping hot, so we ate those while we waited for our food. The potatoes were tasty but too salty. The food arrived and the eggs were warm and so was the sauce. The bartender said that they don't warm the salmon or the ham. I get not warming the smoked salmon, but the ham should be warmed through. Oh well, I am not the chef. My toast got soggy in he middle by the slightly damp spinach. The spinach on its own was bland and mushy. For only having 3 breakfast items, you would think they would nail it. We had ( 3 people ) had made the reservation 1 month ago for Christmas brunch on Christmas Day. Our reservation was for 1 pm . With 2 hostesses working , we still had to wait 20 minutes for a seat ( if you can call it a seat ). We were seated on 3 high stools next to a party of 4 (very cafeteria style) very far from the buffet . Every conversation could be heard . The food was incredible looking but lacked the details to make it good . There was lobster , but it was overcooked and rubbery . Desserts were very dry and not much to choose from . Our waiter was great though , and the pasta too. The hostesses looked overwhelmed even though it wasn't that full . There were beautiful seating but for some reason they decided to to seat us on stools , despite us being dressed up . Lots of potential , but I was very disappointed . We brought out of town guests to go to Lloyd's for New Year's Day brunch. We went there close to 1 PM as that was the booking we were given. When we got there, the hostess wanted to put us outside the actual restaurant (in front of the reception) which did not make sense. Upon insisting she finally let us in to the restaurant next to the dessert station, where there was ample space (the place never got full by the way) . When we sat down, it took a good 15 minutes to find someone to give us water and provide us menus for drinks (I got up to look for a server). At this point, we were starving and really excited to hit the buffet only to be sorely disappointed with the selection. I enjoyed the pasta with truffles and some of the desserts but that's pretty much it. No one dared to try the sashimi since the fish looked beyond dead. Last thing we want is getting sick over some pieces of raw fish. Most of the meat dishes (roasted turkey, lamb, chicken) were dry and stale. We could tell that these were the same dishes that were served from the earlier seating. It was quite embarrassing since we brought our guests there, and we were all really looking forward to it. For four adults and two children, the bill came up to almost $600. I wish we had gone to another restaurant! I don't usually write negative reviews, but I felt like for this experience, I had to. This was by far the most overpriced and worst buffet we've ever had (for New Year's day). It was our first time going to Lloyd's and unfortunately, it looks like it will be our last. read more

Excellent food and service. Ordered the duck breast and a burger; both perfectly cooked and with a delicious salad accompaniment. Had two separate cocktails that were very well done. Our server, Sophie, was attentive, made great recommendations, and was just a joy for the whole meal. read more
