Extremely frustrated with the process they've put in place for pick ups. We are 7 weeks into COVID-19 and decided to order Lloyd's for pick up. The estimated pick up time we were given was one hour. We arrived 15 min early and were told we'd get a text when our food was ready. We waited 40 min then went up and asked what's going on and they said it's be another 35-40 min. I understand long waits on a Friday night while all of this is going on. However I don't understand how they can estimate an hour wait and the wait really be 2 hours!! On top of all of this, I asked to cancel my order when they told me it would be an extra 35-40 min. They told me they can not refund me and I would have to call a number to TRY and get a refund. Was really hoping they would be opened for social distenced dine-in but oh well~ I was really glad we tried this place even though we had to take the food to the park :) Dirty South: 5/5 This was my favorite. The waffle piece was perfect with the chicken. Wished we had ordered more Skinny Thai: 4/5 Really liked the fried tofu. I enjoy the taco factory and have been many times. I have tried a great majority of their menu, below are some takeaways. Burritos: the best bang for your buck, I like the pork the best. Tacos: good but small, kind of pricey for what they are. I like the dirty south. Spicy Korean Sandwich: Not good, the chicken has a very odd texture, almost too crispy. The flavor is a little odd too, its not the heat that is bad but some type of off putting flavor. Maybe too much gochujang Carne Asada Sandwich: I'd skip this as well, nothing special, basically a cheese steak. Spring Rolls- a fav of my girlfriends, small portion but good Cocktails: I love all the mezcal cocktails, they have really turned me on to this smokey treat. Good beer selection as well. read more

Don't let my three star rating fool you. Lloyd's Taco is a place you should definitely try. I was very impressed with their Hertel ave location. It's new and modern, hip and fun. They have a great bar, a cute Asian bar tender and a enteral entrance to the ice cream place next door. Cool cool cool I have had their food in the past and I have always loved it. It took me four years of living in Buffalo to review Lloyd? I've been asleep at the wheel! I overlooked Lloyd for a long time because as a vegetarian, I assumed the only option I'd have would be a bean and cheese burrito or taco or something. But Lloyd is more creative than that. I really like the Skinny Thai, which is fried tofu with peanut sauce. Everyone in the family, including the toddler, loves the Crack-ed Potatoes. Although it didn't also get toddler approval, I enjoyed the Bang Bang Cauliflower. Little things elevate what would be a basic item into a great item--I've had a black bean quesadilla, not expecting anything fancy, but the pickled red onions and the crema Mexicana really made the dish. I'm also really glad that they offer some desserts (ice cream sandwiches and pints) from Churn next door on their DoorDash menu. For me, Lloyd lives up to its great local reputation. Hopefully the pandemic hasn't changed their plans to open a location on Elmwood, as that would be within walking distance for me. read more

Visited in winter. Place was still hopping. Would love to visit when their garage door front would be open with a summer breeze. Both the men in my group enjoyed their inventive burritos. One was basically a Big Mac with the option of beans and rice. My fish taco was cheap and appetizer size. I was able to order what my appetite wanted for about the same price as a normal meal. Lloyd's food is great and I enjoy going there. However, I've noticed that they give police and firefighters discounts whenever they are there which is amazing. Just curious as to why they do not give nurses or other health care workers who come in wearing their scrubs and badges after a 12 hour shift a discount and make them pay full price? Returned as it was my friend's choice for happy hour. Stopped in on a Tuesday at 5p. It started out as a nice quick dinner and chat but by 6pm we couldnt hear each other and headed over to the patio at Sterling. Definatly need to work on the acoustics. I'm giving it one more star for the food/drinks. The tacos, while very good, are still what I would consider small for the price. The krazy corn was delicious, which was missing last time I visited. My friend had a pork burrito and said he enjoyed it. We sat at the bar for a cocktail, $10 a pop. They were good and had a craft feel to them. Parking is still horrible in this area. Came here on a Wednesday night for an after work drink with my friend. Was super surprised to find out that the Taco Factory had a large bar inside with liquor!! We walked in and immediately the bartender was welcoming and invited us over to the bar explaining to us that we could order food and drinks from him. The vibe was awesome.. for 10:15 at night there was a good crowd, and the doors were open to the outside. The dimly lit atmosphere with the glowing bar was super cozy feeling. Although I never got the bartender's name- he was bald- he was hands down the best bartender I have ever sat behind a bar for. He kept checking on us and made us feel comfortable with a sense of humor. Such a gentleman! We asked him if he could make us lemon drop shots, and although he told us the bar didn't have lemon vodka, he would try his best. They were THE BEST lemon drop shots I have ever had. Aside from ordering my regular two pork tacos, we ordered another lemon drop shot and headed out. If I lived near Hertel, I could see myself coming to Lloyd's bar for drinks and tacos at least twice a week. read more

We stopped in for a drink and some food during our girl's night. Love the decor, very modern, industrial but not too cold feeling. We got a few quesadillas, the tricked out nachos and the skinny Tai. The drunken chicken quesadillas was amazing. The ratio to cheese and chicken was perfect. I loved that it was relatively simple too. I got a side of guacamole for dipping and was not disappointed. After posting my 1st review I was contacted by a representative of Lloyd's. So it shows, they do care about customer satisfaction. So we gave them another try and with this one we were quite satisfied. I had the Street Dog which brought a whole to taste and experience to eating a hot dog! I loved it! My wife got their burrito which she found to be very filling and delicious. Still there one downfall, seems to be the cheese (queso) on the nachos. I was here for Cinco de Mayo this past week and had a mixed experience. I knew it would be crazy crowded so I didn't expect too much table space to be available. Fortunately, I was able to grab a two top for my fiance and myself. Still, it was crazy in here. People were being super loud and the line was madness. When my fiance arrived after parking the car, he got into the queue of no return so he could buy me the loaded nachos (one of the only items on the menu I can have). He was in the line a while, but because we're children, we had fun playing with each other's hair over the divider. Once my nachos were ordered, I went over to the bar to see what the cocktail specials were. I couldn't tell you even with the menu in front of my face because the ingredients were esoteric and unknown to me. I ordered their punch. I paid $8. I wasn't happy and neither was my fiance when he ordered a Scotch, paid $10, and recieved less than a shot's worth of liquid. Basically, we got bamboozled. It happened on Halloween too, but this time money was tighter and it soiled the mood. The nachos are good, don't get me wrong. Also, the brick and mortar restaurant was decorated more vibrantly than a kid's birthday party planned by a Type A mom. It was still a fun time. The people who work there are friendly and accommodating while the food is yummy and the options many. This time just wasn't the best we've ever had. Still, 4 stars simply because I've been here when it's not crazy busy and had an amazing time. We chose kind of a foolish day to come, so I factored that in. We had a 3 star time but know they can do a 4 star on average occasions. I do like it here and will continue to get their nachos. As for drinks...may I suggest a guava soda? I visit Buffalo from Toronto once every few months and since I discovered Lloyd Taco Factory it's a must-stop for lunch on the front patio. Friendly staff and incredible authentic spicy tacos (you can get them mild), loaded with freshly prepared ingredients. While I wait I visit the friendly bartender and get an IPA on tap, surely no better pairing! Buffalonians don't shut up about this place...and yet almost all with call it "Lloyd's" instead of "Lloyd." I've been a few times, and it's definitely legit, but probably doesn't quite live up to the ridiculous hype. The first time I had Lloyd was a catered party. The carnitas taco was really tasty. I went to the actual restaurant for the first time yesterday and got a Dirty South Taco, which featured fried chicken. Cool concept and well-executed. My only real complaint is with the prices. 3 tacos will cost ~$10 and probably not fill you up. Can't drive anywhere in Buffalo without seeing their green food truck. 3.5 Stars. read more

I know people speak highly of this place but I almost wonder if those people have never been to a Mexican restaurant before. I have been here for drinks a few times but never ate and the drinks are good. So one day I said "I'm gonna see what all the fuss is about". I ordered a burrito with the braised beef. 75% of the burrito was rice (who ever came up with that idea in general should be punched) which I know the do that at most places now and it makes me mad. The meat was good but I paid 10 dollars for rice basically. The I wanted to see what the tacos were about so I ordered two. I liked it so much that I got a skinny Thai taco even though I was already full LOL and that was also very delicious!! The tacos are very small though. I think I preferred the burrito over the tacos. We also got the old school roasted pork tacos & the crispy fish tacos. All of them were delicious!!! The staff here are super nice and helpful. All the dishes on the menu looked and sounded so yummy. I gave 4 stars because I do not think the restaurant is as good as the trucks, and think the food has declined since the opening of the restaurant. I have been eating at Lloyds since they opened the food trucks, ever since the restaurant opened up I have noticed a change in their food. I think the tacos in the restaurant are very small. If you order one you will definitely still be hungry, when I used to eat at the trucks they were much bigger. I do not think the price is reasonable for how small the Taco is. I really enjoy the skinny Thai taco (I do not think it is as good as the skinny Thai burrito) and the crazy corn! I have had the nachos as well and think they are okay. The cocktails are amazing. If I had never been to the truck, and only the restaurant I would probably give 5 stars, but having had much better experiences at the trucks, in comparison the restaurant hasn't lived up. read more

My husband and I just moved here from Dan Diego, CA and I've been worried we wouldn't be able to find a good Mexican spot. -We tried Moe's and La Tolteca, meh. Lloyd Taco Factory is amazing and tastes just like the authentic Mexican food we had in So Cal! So happy we found this place and that they serve (house made) corn tortillas! Their tacos are great, tiny like street tacos and good! I had a taco with ground beef. I unfortunately wasn't impressed with the ground beef or the brown sauce that came on top. I'm a ground beef taco kind of person and this just didn't do it for me. The ground beef was in big chunks and slightly dry. I don't know what that brown sauce was. BUT, I also had the shrimp tostada and that was 2 ! Wouldn't change a thing! My husband had a shredded beef burrito and he loved it and so did I! Of course I had a bite. It came with black beans rice like we're used to. The ambience and decor in this place is awesome and was definitely well thought out! I like this place a little more every time I visit. Their specialty cocktail menu is top notch and their bartenders do an A+ job. I recommend genarros cold brew, the party boy and the green hornet, however they are all delicious. I recently paid them a visit and had the tricked out nachos, crispy fish taco and dirty south taco. Lloyd is one of my favorite street food and when I heated they open the store I was really happy. Still every time I go there not feel the same when I get food from their truck. Still they have the best taco in town :) One of our friends told us they have reverse happy hour and last night we went there to try :) They have happy hours that start 9 pm. And some of their foods and drinks coming down to $5. We got the cocktails and it was pretty good but the fried chicken was the worst chicken I've ever had. It looked like they made it in the old oil. For that I give them 4 stars. But everything else there is awesome. I love their decoration, such hipster and cool decoration. The staffs are friendly and nice. The music not so great. The bar is nice, a bit pricy which does not make sense. And they have the best nachos :) read more
