I was expecting the veggies and meat to be nicely tucked inside the egg in a half moon shape or something like that....it looked like a scrambled egg with all the veggies and meat....but very flavorful. My co-worker had the banana walnut pancakes and they were delicious. My Boss Lady had the crepes and I think she enjoyed the pancakes more. We definitely plan on coming back. I ordered the loaded steak and eggs which came with pancakes but I substituted them for the honey blueberry multigrain pancakes (go hard or go home right?) the steak was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms and onions just pushed the flavor over the edge. I really love this place but it has gone way down in service in the past few months. On a Monday I went in to order breakfast take out and it took over 30 minutes. I will say they were pretty busy but it seemed like most of the staff weren't even helping take care of customers. I saw my order on the counter but the servers were too busy doing other things. I had to get up and just stand at the counter until they acknowledged me. Finally one girl saw me and said "is this yours?", pointing to a closed styrofoam box. Umm how am I supposed to know, how about you open the box and tell me? Today I went again with a friend around 1pm to dine in. Came in, the restaurant was about half full. Three servers behind the counter and no one acknowledged us again so we sat in the waiting area. Finally a girl sat us down, took our drink order and brought them to us. A different girl then finally came for our food order. We waited...and waited...and waited. 40+ minutes later, we get our food. She had accidentally dropped the syrup all over my pancakes. She was nice enough to offer another order but I thought that would take just as long so I said no. My alfredo omelette was great, my friend's carne asada fries were lacking seasoning. Overall, I feel like this place always goes through staff changes so quickly and it shows. They even had a sign up for job openings for servers and cooks. Both times I've seen food pile up on the counter and none of the girls acknowledge it. Instead I've seen them disappear into the back, fill condiment bottles, have personal conversations, or having a drink. Also I think the majority of the orders placed were for the workers who were leaving cause 2 girls' shifts ended and they both took boxes of food home. So I guess to-go orders for the staff are more important than your customers' food. Got it. It's really disheartening because I love the food here but these servers need to get better at their job. I was passing by and spotted this place (crepes!) when I was hungry for some breakfast, did a quick check on the Yelp rating, and stopped to try it out. As soon as I sat down I noticed the dining area floor looked a bit dirty and the place had a smell. The crepe was pretty good, really. But if a place is dirty, forget it. Worse yet, when I was paying my bill to leave I noticed a cockroach crawling on the floor near the front counter, and as I went back to use the bathroom I noticed how very dirty the floor was in the kitchen, hallway, and bathroom. Finding a cockroach is an immediate failure for me, and if I had seen it on the floor while I was eating I would have walked out immediately. Also, the place had just opened a few minutes prior - I may have been the first customer of the day - and yet the floor is already dirty? Don't they clean up each night, or do they leave the place a mess? Obviously their cleaning process is insufficient if there is filth at the floor/wall junctures. The trashcan in the bathroom was half full first thing in the morning...was that left overnight too? No wonder there is roaches. This place is gross and I'm kind of disgusted I ate here. I will never eat here or visit their chain again because they already are showing a lack of concern towards maintaining their restaurant in an acceptable condition. I'm also shocked (being a former health inspector many years ago) that this place was rated an "A", and that this place has 4.5 stars, as it does not deserve it if they can't perform proper sanitation and has a cockroach infestation. Came here about a week ago, and had a good experience. Our group had 2 adults, 1 toddler and 1infant. They were very accommodating and even provided us with some complimentary pan dulce (mini concha's, which were delicious!) Our server was good about checking on us and the food was pretty good. My husband had the breaded steak and eggs which we really liked and I had the French toast, eggs and they let me do 1 bacon and 1 sausage instead of both the same which was a plus. Our friend ordered the berry crepes and they were MELT IN YOUR MOUTH delicious! I can't wait to go back just for these. The place looked recently remodeled, and had ample seating. No complaints on the taste of the food, however, I felt like I wasted so much time waiting to get attention from any of the 4 servers that were working and the amount of time it took for the food to come out was silly. The table next to us ended up cancelling their order and left after they waited about 45min because she was with a child who was upset. We also finally asked for the check, but after waiting about 10minutes, the server we asked just avoided eye contact with us and so we just walked to the register to get the check and pay. We drove by my favorite breakfast joint, The Pan, & it was packed as usual so we ended up at Loaded Cafe in Gardena. We put our name on the list & was told the wait would be 25-minutes, which is a lot better than the 90-minute wait; it was closer to 40-minutes before we were seated. LC is situated in the corner of a nondescript strip mall... with limited parking spaces we were lucky to find one right by the entrance. The cafe itself is small & packed; it was bustling on a Sunday morning. I saw a lot of takeouts during our wait, & since LC was close to a 30-minute drive, that is not an option for us if we want a hot, non-soggy meal. Considering its size, the Loaded Cafe has a loaded menu consisting mostly of breakfast items such as crepes, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, & more. I ordered the Blueberry Pancakes & made it into a combo; my husband had the Veggie & Egg Melt. When my pancakes & combo items were served, they were hot as if just off the griddle but it was more than 30-minutes until we had the initial plates. The pancakes were light & fluffy loaded with a sweet blueberry compote & whipped cream. There was so much fruit that the whipped cream was probably unnecessary & definitely no maple syrup is required. My son is a pancake aficionado but stopped after a few bites. Hmmm... it makes me wonder why he didn't enjoy it as much as he usually does. My husband's melt was mostly warm with lukewarm fries. Since they seemed cooked & had probably cooled, he didn't bother exchanging them for fresh, hot fries because they were mostly for our 2 year old. When you have 2 LOs & long wait times, that is not good if there's no placemats to color, or complimentary appetizers to nosh on. The a la carte prices for bacon is $1.69 & hashbrowns is $1.99, totaling $3.68; if the eggs are under $2.32, then you're paying more for the combo than if you order those 3 items separately. If you order the lower value items ($4.99) such as the Swedish Crepes, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Original French Toast, & upgraded to a combo, then you're definitely paying more. Combos typically are extra values & cost less than ordering the items individually. Loaded Cafe offers decent to pretty good food; however, if you're not mindful of its deceptive menu pricing, you may not realized you're being overcharged by their combos' perceived value. The restaurant is very small and needs a deep cleaning. The parking lot is tight and shared with various shops customers. Food is average in taste and generous in portion. The pricing is also average. Chefs pump out dishes quick but the wait staff is rather slower than average.
