Loafin Joe's is my all time favorite place for sandwiches. The house made ranch potato chips are excellent and unique. I also really like the location off the square it has a nice vibe where you could meet up for a fun lunch with some friends. The portions are really big. Our office brings in lunch every week for the staff. We like to order local and not from chains. We've tried twice getting lunch from this location but they are really hit or miss with more misses. I ordered a club and the only thing I taste is bread and bacon. Now I like bacon but really I had to go dig to find any meat. Last time we ordered the bread was hard and dried out. This was a place our team tried during the joe martin stage race weekend since it was right on the course. The place was kind of dirty and the floors were gross. Bathroom wasn't much better. Well the chips are good but who knows about the rest of the food because we waited 40-50 mins and never got our food! The waitress never came over and said anything to us. We did wave her down (when the only other people in the place got seated) to bring us another soda. Terrible service!! We left without eating anything other then chips. But it cost us $20 to not have lunch. They really need to fix something in this place. So for the longest time I had cut Loafin' Joe's out of my life. Despite my love of Ben's Favorite. They got banned due to some shady and awful deliveries (I.e they never made the delivery, were very rude and provided the wrong food). Believe me it takes a lot for me to ban food, I had multiple bad services with them. Fast forward 12 years (yeah, I hold grudges long and have also lived out of state and country for 8 years). Not to bad for a neighborhood sandwich pizzeria. They offer some daily specials and there is always a takeout pizza special. The pizza is pretty good for the price but the sandwiches have a bad bread to meat ratio. They could use more meat and or toppings. This place serves salads, sub sandwiches, and personal-sized pizzas. The chips are served as an appetizer. The house-made chips are partially undercooked AND partially overcooked (with more of the chips being undercooked/soggy/chewy.) The sandwich came out about 20 minutes after the chips. (By that time, I was done eating all of my chips and could not eat any of the sandwich.) All and all, due to the quality of the service, I will not be coming back. We had 3 salads that were beyond basic: lettuce from grocery bag, bit of cheese, bit of bacon and the "grilled chicken" was not grilled but was pieces of cold chicken. The BLT sandwich wasn't good. The chips had a hair it in. But, the worst was adding up our bill of $57 that SOMEHOW turned into an automatic charge of $90!!! I questioned staff and was told we were charged extra for a table of five. No one told us about this before and the place had plenty of empty tables inside and out. Then, they did an automatic tip when quite frankly our server was worthless. We waited forever for their paper menus. We waited forever for silverware. She never refilled a drink. She took forever to bring our bill and when she did it just listed the actual charges, but then she returned with their NEW GROSSLY INFLATED and PREPROCESSED receipt! The customer doesn't get to review what this JOKE of a restaurant is going to actually charge you and then they tell you about all their hidden fees. Go to Tim's or US Pizza for a GOOD salad. This dump won't be around for long. We will NEVER return and we know a lot of people. This goes down as the most expensive crap meal experience any of us have ever had! read more
