It can be intimidating when you start, but I promise you, everyone here is sooo nice. I am here most days out of the week. Think of this like a second family. When you need to escape reality, come here. boxing has ultimately helped me both physically and mentally sooo much and it wouldn't have been without the help of my friend Sam who pushed me to start. The workouts are always amazing. You feel so renergized after ! The music while working out is always a good time! The workout is split into 4 circuits, so you aren't just boxing the entire time, you lift weights, get your cardio in, all while focusing on technique, your speed, etc. Thank you everyone at Trinity, especially Coach Josh and Nikole who are practically my parents. If you are looking to getting into boxing, Trinity is the place to do it! Don't go anywhere else, I promise you ... it's not as good... I'm saying this from experience lol. Before coming here, I was never really consistent about going to a gym and when I did, I was nervous because I had no idea what I was doing beyond the very basics. Now that has all changed. Ivan is a fantastic trainer. He has helped me so, so much in my ongoing recovery from ACL surgery as well as my overall strength and fitness. For the first time ever, I really look forward to going to the gym due to my progress and results. He has played a huge part in helping me build confidence in working out and a love for the gym. I was going for a PR today and Ramiro (general manager) stopped what he was doing to cheer me on, then flagged when I was loosing form and corrected me to make sure I can train safely. That's the kind of people who run this place - they really care. I'd give this gym (and Ivan as a trainer) 10 stars if I could!

I had a pair of boxing gloves and boxing wraps from a while back, so all I had to do was drive myself down here on the first day of the year. Check-in was effortless, and a staff member even gave me a quick tour of the lobby. Once the gym floor was sanitized, I went in and found my bench. Two groups were formed, and the ones at the benches started on floor exercises then switched to the punching bag on three rotations within 45 minutes. With the playlist pumping bangers, I definitely pushed myself and burned around 400 calories. Dillion did a good job with getting everyone motivated. Kinda wished he'd walk around and give more targeted feedback rather than staying at the center, though I guess the counterargument might be the music would obscure anything that's said. Floor exercises were intense but nothing too unfamiliar, such as crunches with dumbbell punches, V-sits, burpees, and planks. Punching the water-filled bag felt odd, and that feeling lingered even as I slowly got the hang of it. Overall, the class felt like a productive way to start the year.

That's fine it has its place. I'm just not the target market. Only real issue is parking was unclear. It is validated and about a couple bucks which isn't bad. Good gym for others but for my purposes not exactly. Also mostly women in my class anecdotally speaking. I am guessing they are here for fitness not to learn how to fight.

Parking is easy with validation (1 hr 15 mins) in the structure... just don't go over or you'll lose it. Street parking works too if you're early. When you arrive, you will need to check-in. There's always been different receptionists each time and they have been kind. There are small lockers at check-in, and large mirrors, showers, hair ties, lotion, shaving cream, q-tips, and a hair dryer in the restroom. Our instructor, Omar, is very personable and makes newcomers feel welcome. He announced he now only teaches BoxUnion Burn (1 Hr) at 10:45 AM on Saturdays. I was nervous at first, especially seeing the dark room, LED lights, and loud music. I get overstimulated easily, but they offer ear plugs and I liked how spacious it was. You'll need to rent gloves and wraps ($10-15 each) unless you bring your own. After my first class, I invested in them and a ClassPass membership (they have their own too) since I only come once a week and don't live nearby. The class includes punching combos, HIIT, ab work, and freestyle. Omar took the time to correct my form. Highly recommend stretching beforehand. Haven't tried other instructors, but if you prefer focusing on form, ask if any trainers offer personal sessions. I highly recommend this class if traditional gyms aren't your thing or you just want to hit something for funzies :b! Side note: I have personal beef with the trash can at the women's restroom exit... that flap + photo credit to my sister who's been here longer.

Started going to Mad City in early August, decided to do the one week trial and loved it! The…read morecoaches are extremely encouraging and focus on technique from day 1. Nathan and Alex co-teach most of the classes I have signed up for. I usually go to Saturdays, since it's all body and a good balance of cardio for my workout routine. They have various membership options, but I decided to buy the 20 class pack, which works best for me as I only go once a week. Tip: Bring a towel, if you have your own set of gloves and wraps, bring them. If not they provide loaners for gloves, but it's probably best you bring your own. Also know that part of the class involves running up and down the block in uneven pavement, but if you don't feel comfortable doing so I notice some members do jump roping or stationary jumping jacks instead. Don't be intimidated by coaches, they make sure to check for form. Also, don't compare yourself to other people taking the class. There are people who I can tell are advance, but overall it's a mix level class.

The classes are tough as hell, I sweat so much that I'm amazed I have any water left in my body afterward; but I keep coming back so it seems to be somewhat addictive. :) A friend highly recommended this gym when I decided to explore boxing, and my original intent was to shop around and try out several local gyms; Members Only was intended as the first. Patrick helped us get on boarded and set us up with a family plan. Then we started our classes with Jesse. It's not only one if the best work outs I've had, but it's super fun. Jesse clearly has experience, and even though we're boxing for fitness and not for competition, he spends time ensuring we're learning everything we can. I wanted to like this gym based on a friend's experience, but I did not have a good experience here, though I came a while ago. No real staff available and seems the owner of the gym, who was also teaching the class, was checked out and on his phone. My sister came with me and asked another class member if this was the normal and he said that it has gone downhill with the occasional good moments, so maybe this was just a one-off kind of experience for us. I will say, I felt out of place because I had no previous boxing experience and this felt like a class of intermediate to advanced athletes. Apparently, the other coaches are much better. The owner's name is Eddy, I think, so maybe try the other coaches before his, especially if you are a beginner like me. read more

Zero stars if I could. Took one class here on the recommendation of a friend who loves it, and whose sons go to their children's Wolfpack classes. While the class was good, no vaccine records were checked when I attended, and no masks were worn despite it being against the law, and zero ventilation of any kind. I got COVID after coming here and saw online today that multiple women who attend the gym had COVID at the same time. Tried to report it to 311 who did not care, so warning all to stay far, far away if they value their health. I should have checked their Instagram to see that masks are actively avoided here. read more

Lobos is THE boxing gym to go to in LA!! The coaches are amazing, they actually care about your progress, and EVERYONE at this gym is kind, helpful, and encouraging. I cannot recommend Lobos enough whether you are trying to improve fitness, learn some self defense or just looking for a good community here in LA. Great vibe!!! The gym is in perfect condition, and there's good coaching. Give it some time and you will definitely learn how to box and can begin sparring once you're ready. The coaches know what they are doing and will make sure you don't get hurt during practice, drills, and sparring. I took my 9 and 10 years kids (Son and daughter) they had a blast! Look for the kids club "wolf pack", the teacher is great! this guy really knows how to motivate and engage little fellows. In the tough side, the training is very demanding. Bathroom and shower are in great shape and clean. By the class or by the month you will sweat your money back. Thanks for the great time! read more

Lobos has a solid and encouraging community. The coaches teach strong foundational techniques, and spend time to explain the why behind the lessons. It's great for all levels. They train competitive fighters that are at the top of their game, as well as absolute beginners. No ego here. read more

For me, any jiujitsu gym is made by two parts. The first part is the jujitsu itself, and the second is the people. For the first part, there are excellent coaches here. The main coach John, is one of the most technical coaches I have ever had. Although I've been training with him for almost a year, he still often refreshes my understanding of my old moves. Also, he cares a lot and will always review your match videos every time after your competitions and help you improve. Here, I feel that I only paid for the group class but enjoy the best one-on-one service. There are other nice coaches here as well. Riley is the nicest coach I know. He is very detail, energetic and always tries to roll with everyone after class. He likes to catch your weaknesses during free training and keep repeating them. I have corrected many bad habits in my free training with him. And every Monday, the young wrestler Ryan gives a great wrestling class that is helpful for jiu-jitsu. Although it is only once a week, it has improved my cardio a lot. The details he pointed out of my moves always blow my mind. Daniel is also a very good coach. He gives excellent basic teaching and it is very helpful for you to set up a solid foundation. As for the people part, I think there is no better gym than this one. It's a very warm place with a silly vibe. People are funny and get along very well and always support each other. I have been trying my best to be the nicest person I can be, and I think I have done a good job. Until I came here, I became the worst person in the gym. Everyone is more helpful, more generous, more polite and more gentle than me (except Austin, he is very mean and will give you a black eye). If you need someone to help you move, fix your car, or even babysit your child for free, you can register for this gym. The value of these people and their help will for sure cover your membership fee. By the way, there are celebrities showing up at the gym sometimes！

I attended my first beginner's class in December 2023 (it's now August 2024 when I'm writing this review), and I was probably in the worst shape of my life when I began. I blame Covid/changing to a WFH job/30's metabolism changes blah blah blah, but whatever. I was happy to keep blaming my excuses. And I was so nervous to take a class and move my body in front of other people... I had literally never taken an exercise class of any kind before. But when I say that first class was the most welcoming, encouraging, fun, and yes-HARD-experience I've ever had... I mean it. It was the perfect balance of everything I needed to get me to come back. I've never enjoyed exercising, it's always been something I dread. But Rashad and Crystal know what they're doing, and they genuinely want to help you feel stronger in your body. I never feel uncomfortable or self-conscious in any way in their classes, only encouraged and motivated. I've now lost 23 pounds (!) in the past 8 months (also with the help of a calorie deficit I started 3 months ago), and I feel actual muscle and strength that I've never felt before in my life, even at my "thinnest." I'm now straight up addicted to these classes. I will only miss one if life requires me to, and I feel genuinely upset when I do! They have been such a game changer for my mental health, too. Whatever your goals are -- weight loss, cardio and strengthening , stress release, or just a killer workout with an amazing community -- you'll find it here. I feel so blessed to have found them.
